See ship-to-ship combat IN SPACE from Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Even though they’re one of the world’s most-profitable publishers, Activision doesn’t host their own E3 Press Conference. Instead, the company has always partnered with Microsoft or Sony to promote their latest projects on gaming’s biggest stage. Things weren’t any different this year as Sony presented a brand new gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare during their showcase.

In the trailer, fans of the franchise can watch as Call of Duty goes into space for the first time. Players will be able to take part in ship-to-ship dogfighting and even eject from their fighter to breach an enemy ship.

The trailer ends with a sneak peek at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, along with an offer for PS4 owners to get it early. Anyone who pre-purchases the Digital Deluxe Edition or Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare will receive access to Modern Warfare Remastered’s campaign on October 5. But even if you pre-purchase, you’ll have to wait until the official launch day to jump online in a multiplayer match.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released for the PS4 on November 4. It’ll also be available for the PC and Xbox One (alongside Modern Warfare Remastered) on the same day.

Dead Rising 4 will be released on December 6

deadrising4-header

Dead Rising 4 was announced earlier this week at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference with a Christmas-themed trailer and the promised of a “Holiday 2016” release date. Yesterday, an update to the horror game’s listing on the Xbox Games Store outed the official release date as December 6.

Rather than bury their head in the sand and pretend it never happened, Microsoft confirmed to IGN that Dead Rising 4 will indeed be released for the PC and Xbox One on December 6.

Welcome back, Frank.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will also be released for the PC and Xbox One on January 24

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was front and center at Sony’s E3 Press Conference, and for good reason. Capcom is offering a short teaser demo of the game to PlayStation Plus subscribers now, and they’ve promised the game will be compatible with the PlayStation VR headset when it launches on January 24, 2017.

But don’t worry, the first-person horror game will also be released for the PC and Xbox One on the same day.

While Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a complete overhaul of the franchise’s traditional trappings, its storyline will actually take place in the aftermath of Resident Evil 6. According to the Capcom-Unity blog, this mansion is actually a derelict plantation located in the rural south:

A horror story is only as frightening as its setting, and Resident Evil 7 pays tribute to the franchise’s origins on this front as well. Resident Evil 7 is set after the events of Resident Evil 6, taking place in modern day and revolving around a foreboding, derelict plantation mansion in rural America. Players must explore and survive the horrors within the mysterious, sprawling estate.

Players who pre-order Resident Evil 7 will receive access to the Survival Pack, a downloadable add-on which will instantly unlock the game’s hardest difficulty, as well as several in-game items.

Crackdown 3 was officially pushed back to 2017

crackdown3-header

Crackdown 3 was a no-show at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference this year, and that’s because the game’s release has officially been pushed back to 2017. Writing on Crackdown’s official website yesterday, developer Dave Jones said the delay was necessary to give the team enough time to create a game that matches their vision:

Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.

On the bright side, Crackdown 3 has been added to Microsoft’s Play Anywhere program, so players will be able to purchase the game on either the Xbox One or the PC and then receive a free download of the game on the other platform.

Ubisoft CEO says Beyond Good & Evil 2 is “still on the way” at E3 2016

We’ve haven’t heard much about Beyond Good & Evil 2 since it was first announced all the way back in 2008. Creator Michel Ancel has been relatively quiet about the project, but he has insisted all this time that the game remains in development. And when Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot sat down for an interview with Geoff Keighley yesterday, he delivered a similar report about the status of the game:

Keighley: The next Beyond Good & Evil, is that something that is still going to be in development? Are you gonna do it?

Guillemot: It’s still on the way. It’s something at some point you will see, yes.

Keighley: Is it actively being worked on or is it further out?

Guillemot: It’s difficult to say. Michel is working on it. But he’s doing two games at the same time, so it’s coming along, but he has to spend more time on it so we can see it faster.

So Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development, but we still have no idea when it’ll be completed or what platforms it’ll be released for. I guess we’ll hear more about it one of these years.

Gears of War’s General RAAM officially joins Killer Instinct this week

You know, it’s possible that Gears of War‘s General RAAM has been rumored to be joining Killer Instinct Season 3 for about as long as Donald Trump has been running for President. But just like Trump eventually captured the Republican nomination, so too has General RAAM been officially added to the Xbox One and PC fighting game.

Rukari Austin, Killer Instinct’s Community Manager, delivered the good news during Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference and on the Xbox Wire:

Brandishing his wickedly brutal blade, and wielding innate control of the carnivorous Kryll, General RAAM – military leader of the Locust Horde – is sure to strike fear into the heart of any opponent. Unleash heavy punishing attacks, brutal blade combos, and command Kryll swarms for offense or defense. Locust Queen Myrrah’s personal champion is sure to provide a challenge to all comers…

Like every other Killer Instinct fighter, General RAAM can be purchased as part of the Season 3 Combo Breaker Bundle ($19.99), Season 3 Ultra Edition Bundle ($39.99), or the 3-Season Supreme Edition ($59.99). The character can also be purchased as a standalone download for $4.99, but all Killer Instinct fans will first get to try him out for free this week.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will skewer superhero movies on December 6

After taking fantasy films down a peg in South Park: The Stick of Park, the South Park gang will next turn their prodigious parody powers towards the superhero genre in South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Unveiled this afternoon at Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference, South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be released on December 6 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

With crime on the rise in South Park, the streets have never been more dangerous. As the sun sets on the quiet Colorado town, havoc and chaos unleash a reign of terror and the seedy underbelly of the city comes alive. The town needs new heroes to rise! Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town and create the best superhero franchise ever, his own Coon & Friends with himself as the leader, The Coon. Continuing in their role as the New Kid, players will become a member of Coon & Friends and fight for fame and their place beside the other kids.

Players will get to live out all their superhero fantasies in The Fractured But Whole, ultimately discovering their origin, assembling multiple costumes, and creating a unique powerset from numerous superhero classes.

Ubisoft will release South Park: The Fractured But Whole in a game-only Standard Edition this Fall, as well as three other special editions. The digital-only Gold Edition includes the game, the Season Pass, a set of in-game costumes and a bonus Perk, and access to Towelie, an in-game assistant. Meanwhile, the retail-only Gold Steelbook Edition will include everything from the Gold Edition packaged in a Steelbook case with a set of lithographic prints. Finally, the Collector’s Edition takes everything in the Gold Steelbook Edition and adds a 6” figurine of “The Coon” to the box.

Everyone who pre-orders South Park: The Fractured But Whole will also receive a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone helped introduce an extended gameplay demo of The Fractured But Whole during Ubisoft’s Press Conference, and you can find the full (NSFW) video after the break.
