Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will star Nolan North and Troy Baker
It sounds like Nolan North and Troy Baker will star in yet another video game as WB Games has announced that the prolific pair will voice the protagonist and antagonist of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Set between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with an original story written by Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption), Baker will star in Shadow of Mordor as Talion, a Ranger attempting to raise an orc army. He will be challenged by North, who will play his nemesis, the Black Hand. The beginning of their story plays out in the new “Story Trailer” embedded above.
Other actors who will lend their voices to the game include Alastair Duncan as Wraith, Laura Bailey as Ioreth, and Liam O’Brien as Gollum.
Finally, WB Games announced that award-winning composer Garry Schyman will create the music for Shadow of Mordor. Schyman previously composed the score for BioShock Infinite, which won a BAFTA Award for “Best Original Music” earlier this year as well as a D.I.C.E. Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition.”
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is in development for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It is scheduled to be released on October 7.
WWE 2K15 bodyslams PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 on October 28

Last week, WWE 2K15 was tagged with a “Fiscal 2015” release date by Take-Two Interactive in their quarterly financial report. Most of the other games were given a “Fall 2014” designation and many were worried that the different release window meant that WWE 2K15 would launch at the end of Take-Two’s fiscal year, which falls on March 31, 2015.
But never fear, the company’s “WWE Games” Twitter account set the record straight and WWE 2K15 will definitely be released thisyear:
Get Ready: #WWE2K15 launches on 10/28, internationally 10/31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. pic.twitter.com/WOpSBP0h4T

WWE 2K15 is believed to be in development at Yuke’s, but Take-Two hasn’t officially revealed anything about the game beyond the information in the tweet above.
Ubisoft @ E3 14: Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, The Division, The Crew, more

Ubisoft has announced their E3 2014 plans and it includes a lot of games we already knew about including Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, Tom Clancy’s The Division, The Crew, and Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The megapublisher plans to announce a few additional titles during E3 Media Briefing, which will be held on Monday, June 9 at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time). Once again, Ubisoft’s presentation will be hosted by actress (and professional awesome person) Aisha Tyler and will be broadcast live on their YouTube Channel.
So what else will Ubisoft be announcing at this year’s E3 Expo? I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Blood Dragon 2 or the oft-rumored Assassin’s Creed: Comet, and you know a Watch Dogs sequel is in development somewhere within Ubisoft’s many development houses, but that probably won’t be an E3 2014 announcement.
You can find more information on Ubisoft’s E3 lineup after the break. (more…)

Deep Silver confirms Summer release for Metro Redux
After teasing Metro Redux back in March, Deep Silver and 4A Games are ready to officially announce that the compilation will come to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Summer. Priced at $49.99, the compilation pack will include enhanced remakes of Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, and all of Last Light’s downloadable content. Metro 2033 has received the bulk of the enhancements including redone graphics and gameplay using the more advanced Last Light engine and “radically improved gameplay” such as…
- Advanced enemy AI
- Improved combat and stealth mechanics
- Superior weapon handling
- More responsive, intuitive controls
- Weapon customization
- Silent kills and take-downs
The complete “Redux” overhaul will also extend to each game’s unique play style. Players can now play through both campaigns using 2033’s “Survival Play Style” (a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds) or Last Light’s more action-oriented “Spartan Play Style” (more powerful weapons and more plentiful resources).
Finally, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light will both be available as individual downloads through PC download services, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Live Game Store. Each game will be sold separately for $24.99 each.

Minecraft coming to PS4, Vita, Xbox One in August; upgrade from current-gen for only $5

Microsoft has announced that the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be available in August with a special offer for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition owners. If you currently own either version of the Xbox 360 Edition (the downloadable XBLA version or the retail disc), you’ll be able to upgrade to the Xbox One Edition for the low, low price of $4.99. If you don’t already own the Xbox 360 Edition, it’ll cost $19.99 to purchase the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.
According to a post on Xbox Wire, players who upgrade will be able to transfer their worlds into the Xbox One Edition as well as “most (but not all) of [their] downloadable skins and texture packs.”
Sony has yet to announce a release date for Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition, but I have a creeping suspicion that it’ll launch sometime this Summer too.
UPDATE: That was fast. Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft will also be available for the PS4 and Vita in August. PS4 owners will be able to take advantage of the same $4.99 upgrade while the PS3 and Vita editions will be bundled together as part of the Cross-Buy program. So if you already own the PS3 version, you’ll be able to download Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition for free.
Minecraft for everybody (except Wii U owners)!
Evolve tracks down an October 21 release date

2K Games has announced that Turtle Rock’s “4v1” shooter, Evolve, will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 21. Evolve will also be on display at this year’s E3 Expo, so we’ll surely hear more about Turtle Rock’s Left 4 Dead followup next month. But if you’d rather not wait that long, Polygon has published a new report four more characters who will challenge the Monsters this October.
Evolve’s previously released promotional material (including the PAX East demo) always featured the same four Hunters: Markov (Assault), Hank (Support), Griffin (Trapper), and Val (Medic). The new set of characters will slot into the same classes, but with different weaponry and personalities…
- Hyde is an Assault character with a minigun, a flamethrower, and an eye patch.
- Bucket is a robotic Support character who can remove his own head and use it as a drone to pinpoint the Monster’s position.
- Maggie is a Trapper who hunts with Daisy, an alien beast that Maggie has tamed as a pet. Daisy can sniff out the Monster and even heal other players like a rescue dog (little barrel not included).
- Finally, Lazarus is a Medic with a sniper rifle and an invisibility cloak.
It’s unknown how many different characters will make the final cut for Evolve, but Turtle Rock has promised that more will be revealed soon.
Here’s a gameplay trailer for the PS4 version of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition
Hey, wanna take a look at the PS4 version of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition? Specifically content from the Reaper of Souls expansion? If you said, “It probably looks like every other gameplay video of Diablo III we’ve seen over the last three years,” you would be correct. Still, there are worse ways to spend a minute and 41 seconds, as actiony Diablo III trailers are usually pretty fun.
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will be released for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on August 19.
