Hunt the Goliath in an interactive trailer for Evolve
Turtle Rock Studios and 2K have used Evolve‘s unique 4v1 structure to promote the game ever since it was announced in January. Today, the publisher and developer got together to release a special interactive trailer that allows viewers to jump into the viewpoint of each character, as well as Goliath the Monster. Viewers will be able to study the tactics used by The Trapper, The Support, The Assault, and The Medic in pursuit of their prey in real time… before Goliath kills them all, because that’s what Monsters do.
You can also check out a nine-minute supercut of the battle above with commentary from eSports broadcaster Aaron “Ayesee” Chambers and Turtle Rock’s Chris Ashton. Evolve will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Fall.
Project CARS will cross the finish line in November
Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios’ ambitious racing sim, will finally be released this November for the PC (Windows/SteamOS), PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One. To celebrate, the developer has released a stunning new trailer, which they claim is composed of “all in-game footage.”
Slightly Mad was able to bypass the traditional publishing model to create their passion project thanks to their engagement with fans and the community. The development team sold special “Tool Packs” for the game and gave fans access to a private forum to discuss the direction development was taking.
When all is said and done, Project CARS might be one of the most realistic racing games ever. So I guess it’s a good thing Slightly Mad is planning to include Oculus Rift support as well.
The Evil Within Preview: Shinji Mikami Made A Game With Zombies In It (Again)

Marketing a horror title is tricky business. If you give away too much, that will spoil the scares and dissipate the tension. But you also don’t want to play things too close to the vest, as then your audience won’t have any clue what to expect. This has been the problem for Bethesda’s The Evil Within almost from the start.
The Evil Within is in development at Shinji Mikami’s new studio, Tango Gameworks. Mikami is most famous for creating Resident Evil and the franchise’s signature sequel, Resident Evil 4. So far, The Evil Within’s marketing has lead audiences to believe that it would be a tense and claustrophobic affair that would force players to run and hide from the imposing and seemingly unstoppable residents of the game’s sanitarium setting. But during a live demo presentation during the 2014 PAX East convention, we got to see a new side of The Evil Within that belies the game’s previous marketing approach and goes in a different (and not altogether wanted) direction. (more…)

First image from Call of Duty 2014 revealed
During their Game Developer Conference panel last month, developers from Sledgehammer Games gave the attending audience a quick glimpse at an “in-game character image” from the currently unannounced Call of Duty 2014. Today, IGN revealed that image, an extreme close-up of a soldier, to the world.
Call of Duty 2014 is in development for next-generation platforms (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) and will be released this Fall. A current-generation version of the game (for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U) is also expected, but remains unconfirmed as of now. An official announcement of the game will likely occur next month.
Dragon Age: Inquisition will launch on October 7
BioWare has kept Dragon Age: Inquisition shrouded in secrecy almost since the day it was announced. But a brand new gameplay trailer, released this morning, has given gamers an extensive look at “The Inquisitor” and his quest to stop a band of demons from terrorizing the land of Thedas. It’s likely that BioWare (and publisher EA Games) will soon ramp up their promotion of Inquisition as they also revealed that the game will be released for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on October 7.
That date will be a crowded one for fans of sword and sorcery epics as WB Games plans to release Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor on October 7 as well.

Continue Countdown #2 – The Evil Within, Borderlands: Pre-Sequel, Super Mario 20, More
The second episode of Warp Zoned’s “Continue Countdown” is now available to watch through our YouTube channel. It’s a PAX East kind of show as Editor-In-Chief John Scalzo, Staff Writer Mike Ryan, and special guest Adam Woolcott discuss the blandness of The Evil Within, the bizarreness of The Behemoth’s Game 4, and the baffling choice to put Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
The trio also delves into the Console War Between the PS4 and Xbox One, next-gen remakes like The Last of Us Remastered, and whether the inclusion of Marvel characters will affect our decision to purchase Disney Infinity 2.0. Finally, they looked at yet another piece of Beyond Good & Evil 2 concept art, the release date gap between the 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. 4, and the quasi-announcement of Super Mario Bros. 20.

Microsoft and Sony trademark a plethora of possible game titles
Do you smell that? The air is filled with the scent of trademark applications and secret meetings and teasing hints. That’s the smell of speculation… and an imminent E3 Expo.
Sony and Microsoft have been busy little beavers over the last few weeks, trademarking five new game titles between them. As with all issues regarding trademarks, it’s important to remember that these applications do not represent confirmation of a game in development, merely a title that Sony or Microsoft may turn into a game someday. That said, let’s get to speculating.
Back in March, Microsoft registered a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for “Secrets and Treasure.” No additional information was revealed in the filing, but “Secrets and Treasure” has the feel of an Xbox Live Arcade game, doesn’t it? More recently, the consolemaker filed applications for “Screamride” and “Eden Falls.” If I had to guess, I would peg “Screamride” as some kind of racing game and “Eden Falls” as a horror title.
Over at Sony Computer Entertainment, the publisher has filed trademark applications for “Entwined” and “Kill Strain.” While “Kill Strain” sounds like the type of shoot ’em up that people typically equate with Microsoft, “Entwined” definitely has that artsy-but-not-too-artsy vibe of a game published by Sony.
Hopefully we’ll learn more about all of these games at this year’s E3 Expo. And, one more time, it’s important to remember that these applications do not represent confirmation of a game in development, merely a title that Sony or Microsoft may turn into a game someday. And my speculation should just be viewed as guesswork, and does not represent how these games may develop in the future.
