The latest “worst kept secret in gaming” has crossed over into an official announcement as Microsoft has confirmed that an Xbox One console with a 1 TB hard drive will be available beginning June 16. The package will also feature an improved Xbox One controller with more responsive Bumpers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A download code good for one copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also be included.
According to Xbox Wire, the 1 TB Xbox One console will be priced at $399. The 500 GB Xbox One console will continue to be available on store shelves and, best of all, it’s $349 price tag will become permanent.
Finally, that new Xbox One controller will also be released separately in standard black or in a special camo-colored “Covert Forces” pattern.
Pre-ordering Batman: Arkham Knight from GameStop will get you the Red Hood Story Pack, a retailer-exclusive expansion to Arkham Knight’s story that stars the Red Hood, one of Gotham City’s angrier vigilantes. The Red Hood is Jason Todd, a former Robin, and a character who was killed off in 1988 after fans requested his demise during a call-in vote.
Resurrected ten years ago in the comics, the Red Hood has discarded Batman’s “no guns” policy and is willing to use lethal force on the villains of Gotham… as you’ll see in the brand new trailer embedded above. Like most other retailer exclusives, the Red Hood Story Pack will be available to download by all players sometime after the launch of Arkham Knight.
Speaking of its launch, Batman: Arkham Knight is in development at Rocksteady Studios and will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 23. Hey, that’s just two weeks from today!
Platinum Games, the developer behind Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101, will reveal an unannounced and never-before-seen game at this year’s E3 Expo as part of IGN’s Live coverage.
The reveal, which will include “an extended look at gameplay,” is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 at 6:00 PM (Eastern Time). Your guess is as good as mine, but it literally could be anything. Platinum loves creating new sandboxes to play in, such as the Xbox One-exclusive Scalebound, which is being published by Microsoft and will likely be released sometime next year. But the developer isn’t averse to creating sequels and side-stories to beloved franchises, like when Konami asked them to develop 2013’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
So what are you waiting for? Get to the wild speculation!

Capcom has announced that Mega Man will make his glorious return this Summer… in yet another compilation of his NES adventures.
Mega Man Legacy Collection will compile the first six games in the classic franchise in a downloadable package for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Summer. The collection will also be released for the 3DS, sometime in the Fall/Winter. Capcom also announced they will bring a playable demo of Mega Man Legacy Collection to this year’s E3 Expo.
Mega Man Legacy Collection will be developed by Digital Eclipse, a production house with a lasting legacy of bringing classic games to current consoles. The team plans to rebuild each game in their new Eclipse Engine, which will ensure a “sharp, clean picture” and 1080p visuals.
“Movies have the Criterion Collection, but there hasn’t been anything like that for games,” said Frank Cifaldi, Head of Restoration for Digital Eclipse. “We’re living in the golden age of a brand new form of artistic expression, and we’re not doing a very good job of making sure our games will be available five years from now, let alone fifty. The more we can do right now to take video game preservation seriously, the safer our history will be.”
In addition to the graphical boost, the Legacy Collection will feature a Database section that’ll include information about each boss as well as the ability to jump right into a practice match. Finally, the Museum will include “an exhaustive collection of sketches, art and other visual materials” and a Challenge Mode will package smaller portions of the game into a self-contained gauntlet of ministages. A Mega Man I “Boss Rush” and a six-stage endurance challenge were two of the examples given by the developer.
This isn’t the first time Capcom has put together a Mega Man compilation. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection, which included the first eight games in the franchise, was released for the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox back in 2004.
XSEED Games has big plans for the remainder of the year. The publisher, which specializes in localizing obscure and niche titles from Japan, will release ten more games by the end of the year and they plan to bring all of them to this year’s E3 Expo.

Corpse Party (PC) – The first game in the survival horror series is in development for the PC. (Fall 2015)
Corpse Party: Blood Drive (PS Vita) – The third, and final, game in the survival horror series will be released for the Vita. (Fall 2015)
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space (PS Vita) – The second game in the bug-bashing shooter series will shrink down onto the Vita in its first American release. (Fall 2015)
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair (PS4) – An enhanced version of Earth Defense Force 2025 will come to the PS4 with an expanded level count. (Fall 2015)

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PS Vita, PS3) – Another Legend of Heroes game, set in the same universe as “Trails in the Sky” but starring different characters, is also coming soon. (Fall 2015)
Onechanbara Z2: Chaos (PS4) – The “bikini zombie slayers” will be back chopping heads on the PS4 soon. (Summer 2015)
Senran Kagura: Estival Versus (PS Vita, PS4) – The wave-based fighter will offer ten-player play on the PS4 and four-player play on the Vita. (Fall 2015)
Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (3DS) – The anime-influenced fighting series will return for another go-round shortly. (Summer 2015)
Finally, XSEED will also release The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II for the PS3 and Vita, but it currently has no release date and likely won’t be at this year’s E3 Expo.
Due to “popular demand,” Bethesda has announced (via the Bethesda Blog) that Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be available on store shelves for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on July 21.
Originally released as a digital download on May 5, The Old Blood’s file size weighed in at a hefty 37 GB. I don’t think anymore needs to be said about why fans were clamoring for a physical release.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order, sending B.J. Blazkowicz back to the frontlines of World War II. There, he’ll tangle with “Rudi Jager and the Den of Wolves,” a maniacal prison warden who runs Castle Wolfenstein; and “The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs,” a Nazi archaeologist who uses occult artifacts to raise the dead.
The physical version of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will retail for $19.99, which is the same price as the digital download.
