Deus Ex “Conspiracy” trailer has more to it than it’s letting on

In our exclusive interview with the Game Director of Deus Ex, Jean-Francois Dugas let us know how important it was for the team to create a plot where the player is always guessing at who to trust and what’s really going on. In addition the same great visuals and sound we’ve gotten from past trailers, the latest Deus Ex: Human Revolution piece captures that there’s some really shady stuff going on.

We’ll all get a chance to figure out exactly what that is when Deus Ex relases for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on August 23.

Daily Scoop: July 13, 2011 – Who wants a 3DS for $8.99?

Have you been wanting to get a Nintendo 3DS but haven’t had the $249.99 to shell out for it? Well today’s your lucky day! We aren’t sure if this is real or not, but Overstock.com has the Cosmo Black 3DS listed at $8.99 and the Aqua Blue 3DS listed at $12.86. We don’t know if it’s a hoax or a mistake or what, but several of us placed orders, so hopefully it is! Worst case scenario, they’ll send us a box of scorpions.

Update: A poster on the Cheap Ass Gamer forums wrote “CAUTION: Overstock may have been compromised by hackers. DO NOT use your credit or debit card. If you used PayPal, change your password immediately”

I’m not sure how reliable that is, or if anyone even got an order in before they sold out (they’re both already out of stock!), but be diligent.

No daily deals at Amazon, but I keep forgetting to mention their weekly deals – this week, it’s Dungeon Siege III for $39.99 on consoles and $29.99 on PC, Cars 2: The Video Game for $37.99 on consoles and $19.99 on PC and DS, and Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition for $29.99. Not too shabby!

XBLA Tomorrow: Ms. Splosion Man, Warhammer 40000 Kill Team, Boulder Dash-XL

In the final week before Summer of Arcade, Microsoft comes through with another trio of interesting Xbox Live Arcade releases.

This week, the XBLA will see the return of Twisted Pixel Games and their gender-swapping sequel, Ms. Splosion Man. Don’t let the yellow bow fool you, Ms. Splosion Man is just as explosive as her predecessor and she’s packin’ a new multiplayer mode as well.

Also available is Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team, a third person shooter that ties in with THQ’s disc-based Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, which is scheduled for release later this Summer.

Finally, there’s Boulder Dash-XL, an XBLA update to the classic puzzler.

King of Fighters XIII gets October release date, new trailer

Atlus has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for The King of Fighters XIII and narrowed down the game’s release date from Fall 2011 to sometime in October.

The console port of KoF XIII will add a variety of new features and modes not found in the arcade original. Atlus plans to release more details on this new content at a later date, but they did announced that Billy Kane, a fan favorite from the Fatal Fury franchise, will be a part of KoF XIII’s roster.

Daily Scoop: July 12, 2011 – This is NOT my week

I received an e-mail late last night saying that my copy of A Dance with Dragons has been delayed due to an inventory shift. Really, Amazon? Really? Because I pre-ordered that thing like five years ago. You couldn’t bump someone else’s pre-order? Has the HBO series really upped the popularity so much that you can’t cater to the superfans? I am disappointed.

Anyway, Amazon’s Deal of the Day in video games is Nintendo’s FlingSmash with the black Wii Remote Plus for $29.99. And, not to be bested by Best Buy’s buy two, get one free sale, Amazon is also having their own buy two, get one free sale – and there are some good games here. If you haven’t picked up Ocarina of Time 3D or Portal 2, now’s your chance!

NetherRealm pours it on with Rain gameplay trailer

Rain and his water-based repertoire of special attacks will be coming to Mortal Kombat on July 19. Available to download for 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 and $5 on the PS3, the purple one is still rocking the “around the world” roundhouse kick, which instantly makes him the awesomest character available in the game. Which you can check out in the trailer above.

With Rain’s release that only leaves the “unannounced new entrant” as the final piece of Mortal Kombat’s Summer DLC slate. Anybody want to take any guesses as to who it’ll be? Or could it be a truly new character? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon.

New Batman: Arkham City Riddler trailer is kinda disturbing

We heard a few months back that the Riddler would be making an appearance in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, but we had no clue how dark his portrayal was going to be. The video above captures a more disturbed vision of Edward Nigma, as well as some really brutal traps and machines. Batman: Arkham City releases for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on October 18.

WWE Brawl takes it to the streets in 2012

Everyone’s favorite WWE wrestlers will be taking their fighting prowess to the streets in next year’s WWE Brawl. The game was first revealed at a WWE corporate event back in April, but its full trailer wasn’t released on the Internet until today (and there’s still been no official announcement from THQ).

In development for the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, WWE Brawl features cartoony renditions of WWE superstars as they use their wrestling super powers in “full destructible environments.” Beyond the beat ’em up nature of the game and a preliminary roster that features The Undertaker, The Miz, John Cena, Kelly Kelly, Triple H, Edge and Sheamus, there’s not much else to tell about WWE Brawl.

But the trailer above is fairly entertaining.
