Activision and Marvel will patch Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and add missing DLC characters soon

marvelultimatealliance-header

Fans have not been entirely happy with Activision’s recent re-release of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Missing DLC characters and a host of bugs top the list of complaints, but Creative Director Bill Rosemann says that a stability patch is incoming. And we’ll also get to play as those forgotten characters too:

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was re-released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One less than a week ago. It’s unknown when the patch will be available, but the game’s $40 price tag will likely remain in place.

Metrico+ will be released for PC, PS4, Xbox One on August 23

According to developer Digital Dreams, Metrico+ is “a living world filled with infographics,” and a new trailer confirms that we’ll get the chance to explore that world on August 23:

You have to navigate through Metrico, while all the bar charts, line diagrams and pie charts directly react to your movement, actions and input. One bar diagram might grow for every step you walk to the left, while another could decline with every jump you make. You will have to explore Metrico and carefully analyze your every move to see how it affects the world, and whether it will get you further. This mechanic is called “Input Morphing” and it makes you think about actions you normally don’t think about. Metrico is a combination between exploration, skill, experimentation, and most of all: thinking outside of the box.

Metrico+ will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and priced at $13.99. But players who purchased the original Metrico for the Vita will be able to grab the PS4 version for just $6.99.

Bad Boys 3 director Joe Carnahan is the latest to get a crack at the Uncharted movie script

uncharted3-header

The film adaptation of Uncharted is setting sail for uncharted waters once again, as Sony Pictures has revealed to Variety that Joe Carnahan will write a new version of the script.

Carnahan is currently working with Sony to write and direct Bad Boys 3, but the director established his action-adventure bona fides many years ago with Smokin’ Aces, The Grey, and The A-Team.

“Archaeology today is in itself an antiquity, but that world has always fascinated me. Especially when you go to a museum today and wonder how a piece got there to begin with,” [Carnahan] said. “Plus, the property itself is so popular that it was hard to turn down an opportunity to work on it.”

The Uncharted movie is currently expected to open on June 30, 2017. But with no script, no director, and no actors, Sony Pictures will likely be forced to reschedule it to a later date.

Weekly Warp-Up: Is This the Nintendo NX?

No, that’s not a typo. Welcome to the Weekly Warp-Up, your weekly wrap-up of the biggest and the best articles posted at Warp Zoned this week…

If you find yourself on the geek spectrum, I’m sure you spent the last seven days recovering from a Comic-Con-induced coma. Like they always say in superhero movies… a storm is coming… and this massive wave of pop culture will surely envelop everything in its path. So it was nice to get a little bonkers with new rumors about Nintendo’s upcoming NX console.

According to the latest reports from industry insiders, the NX will be a handheld/console hybrid that features detachable controllers for on-the-go multiplayer gaming. If these rumors pan out, NX owners will also be able to attach the console to a base station for TV-based play.

Elsewhere on Warp Zoned this week, Andrew Rainnie filed another Kickstart This! column and pitched crowdfunding fans on Columnae: A Past Under Construction.

If you’re for more news from this past week, you can find it after the break.

New Retail Releases: Xbox One S, GalGun: Double Peace

xboxone-logoThe first day of August is just a few hours away, but you can rest assured that this Summer’s new release drought is still in full effect.

However, if you’re in the market for an Xbox One console, it’s probably a great time to go shopping. That’s because Microsoft will release the new and improved Xbox One S on Tuesday. The system will include a 4K UHD drive, as well as a smaller form factor and three different hard drive sizes (500GB, 1TB, 2TB).

If you’re looking for new games this week, there’s only one option… PQube’s GalGun: Double Peace. Developed in Japan, GalGun: Double Peace is an anime-style rail shooter where players fend off advancing girls. It’ll be available on Tuesday for the PS4 and Vita.

I know it’s easy to despair, but remember, Batman: The Telltale Series will make its debut on digital storefronts later this week, and No Man’s Sky will officially launch next week. And the Fall gaming rush is right around the corner.

Xbox Store Today: Quatros Origins

xboxgamesstore-logoJust one new addition to the Xbox Games Store today, and its Quatros Origins, a new falling block puzzler for the Xbox One from developer God As A Cucumber.

Unlike Tetris, Quatros Origins is a falling block puzzler that features a rotating well, so players will have to deal with four different playing fields. If you’re interested in delver deeper with Quatros Origins, here’s a bit more information about the game straight from the developer:

Xbox One Games

Quatros Origins ($4.99)
Quatros Origins is a block puzzle game that tries to reconnect with the good old days where classic arcade games were easy to play, but hard to master! The objective of the game, is to manipulate tetromino and pentomino blocks, and placing them strategically to make at least one full horizontal line. At first sight it looks like a 2D game, but with each block you place, the platform will turn ninety degrees, giving you four playing fields. But every piece will affect every side!
