Shadow Complex Remastered will be released for PS4 on May 3

Chair has announced that their remade Metroidvania, Shadow Complex Remastered, will be released for the PS4 on May 3. Creative Director Donald Mustard gave PS4 owners a brief rundown on what to expect from the side-scroller over on the PlayStation Blog:

Shadow Complex Remastered gives you all of the original game content, updated with graphical enhancements, and additional Master Challenges. We’ve also added some fun surprises like all-new dynamic melee take-downs, so you can feel even more awesome when you’re stealing the bad guys’ tech and using it against them!

Shadow Complex was originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2009. The Remastered edition launched for the PC last year, and came to the Xbox One last month. Shadow Complex Remastered is the first time that PlayStation owners of any stripe will get to experience it for themselves.

Xbox Store Today: Lichdom Battlemage, Bandai Namco Arcade Series, more

The Xbox Games Store is in for a magical update this week…

First up is Lichdom: Battlemage, a first-person spellcasting game for the Xbox One from Xaviant. Players will take control of a wizard named Dragon, using his elemental magic to cut a swath through the countryside in search of Shax, the evil overlord who killed your family.

Also available this week is a quartet of games that have a different air of magic about them. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and Bandai Namco’s “Arcade Series” is overflowing with good feelings about the past. That’s because Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug are now available to download for the Xbox One. While most players probably own these games in some form or another, it’s nice to see video game history represented on the modern day consoles.

More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break.

Nintendo is bringing Kirby: Planet Robobot, Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, more to PAX East 2016

nintendologo

Nintendo will showcase five upcoming games at this weekend’s PAX East convention… unfortunately, The Legend of Zelda Wii U didn’t make the cut. However, Star Fox Zero, which will also be available in stores on April 22, did.

Congoers will also have the chance to try out a few games making their playable debut including Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE (Wii U) and a trio of 3DS games. Fans of Nintendo’s handheld will be able to try Kirby: Planet Robobot, Monster Hunter Generations, and Metroid Prime: Federation Force on the show floor for the first time. And speaking of Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Nintendo also confirmed this morning that it’ll be released on August 19.

If you’re unfamiliar with any of the games in Nintendo’s PAX East 2016 lineup, more details are available after the break.

PS Store Today: Invisible Inc, Lichdom Battlemage, Axiom Verge for Vita, more

It’s Tuesday, so it’s time for Sony to update the PlayStation Store.

The consolemaker’s Launch Party promotion continues to roll on this week with the addition of Invisible Inc to the PlayStation Store. Previously available only on the PC, the isometric stealth game sneaks onto the PS4 this week in a special “Console Edition” that also includes the Contingency Plan expansion.

PS4 owners can also look forward to the addition of Lichdom: Battlemage to the PlayStation Store this week. The first-person spell casting game also debuted on the PC last year, but its fast-paced action and elemental magic system can now be controlled with a DualShock 4 controller.

And speaking of games with new homes, Axiom Verge has shrunk itself down to Vita size this week. The game, which is Cross-Buy compatible with the PS4 version, attempts to recreate the lonely existence of exploring an alien world that Metroid mined back in the 80s. So it’s almost fitting that it was developed by just one person.

Finally this week, Bandai Namco will re-release a quartet of arcade classics for the PS4. Dig Dug, Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, and Pac-Man are now available to download for Sony’s newest console, and I’m sure this news is very exciting for the retro game fans out there.

More information on all of these titles (along with a few other new releases) can be found after the break. And a complete rundown of this week’s new game add-ons is available at the PlayStation Blog.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Eclipse DLC Pack is now available for the PS4

Just a reminder, the Eclipse DLC Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III is now available to download on the PS4 as part of the Season Pass or as a standalone purchase ($14.99). Activision and Treyarch also released a new trailer to get players pumped for the multiplayer expansion. You can find it embedded above, and you can find a quick refresher of all its contents right here:

  • Spire: Spire takes Multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.
  • Rift: Head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Utilize the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies as you traverse the suspended rail system.
  • Knockout: Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a bloody Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.
  • Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World At War map, “Banzai,” Verge drops Multiplayer combat into the center of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as you engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.

Eclipse also sets the stage for “Zetsubou No Shima,” the highly-anticipated, all-new entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies storyline that spans the four DLC Map Packs for Black Ops III this year. The Origins characters continue on their mission to stop the zombie apocalypse not only in this universe but in all universes. Our heroes find themselves stranded on a remote Pacific island which is home to the Division 9 facility: a secret biological research lab whose experiments with Element 115 and its effects on human, animal, and plant biology has created horrors beyond belief. “Zetsubou No Shima” features a foliage rich island map including new terrifying zombie enemies, a variety of innovative transport mechanics, more devastating traps and classic Zombies side quests.

And don’t worry, PC and Xbox One owners will be able to download the Eclipse DLC Pack sometime in May.
