It’s been an exciting few days for me! I was on a panel at Moore College called Game Changers: Women Making Games, which was amazing. Then we got some playtesting done all day Saturday at the UnPub Mini at The Games Keep. It was fun, but I’m so tired! All I want to do is play games in my pajamas… well, that’s something I want to do every day anyway!

Let’s talk about deals, shall we? The Humble Weekly Bundle is Iceberg Interactive 2! Pay $1 or more to unlock Tiny Troopers, Darkness Within 1: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder, Armada 2526 Gold Edition, Gas Guzzlers Extreme, and Nuclear Dawn. Beat the average to unlock Inside My Radio, Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage, Vector Thrust, Gas Guzzlers Extreme Full Metal Frenzy DLC, and Gas Guzzlers Extreme Full Metal Zombie DLC. Finally, pay $9 or more to unlock Starpoint Gemini 2.

There are 148 new Weeklong Deals at Steam right now. Hero Siege is $0.59, Soul Axiom Deluxe Edition is $17.49, Neon Struct is $9.89, and Costume Quest 2 is $4.94. The Daily Deal is Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth, which is $13.19.

Nintendo adds a dozen titles to budget-priced Nintendo Selects line including Super Mario 3D World, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

Nintendo only rarely adds new titles to their budget-priced Nintendo Selects line, so it’s always big news when they do. Today, the consolemaker confirmed that eight games on the Wii U and 3DS will receive price drops in the near future, including fan favorites like Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

Wii U Games

  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  • NES Remix Pack
  • Pikmin 3
  • Super Mario 3D World

3DS Games

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
  • Mario Party: Island Tour
  • Yoshi’s New Island

Nintendo also announced plans to reissue Super Mario All-Stars (a compilation includes Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World) for the Wii, as well as dropping the price on an additional trio of Wii classics:

All of these new additions to the Nintendo Selects line will be available from retail locations beginning March 11 for $19.99.

Latest trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End reveals more story

If you’re trying to steer clear of any spoilers, be sure not to watch the latest trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. It doesn’t really give away much that you haven’t already gleaned, but avoid it if you don’t want to know anything at all. I’ll admit: I teared up. I don’t want Nathan Drake’s story to come to an end, in any way.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available April 26, 2016 for the PlayStation 4.

Cyanide unveils first screenshots from their Call of Cthulhu adaptation

Cyanide Studios has announced they’ll tap into H.P. Lovecraft’s tales of the Old Ones for their next game, a Call of Cthulhu adaptation they plan to release for consoles and the PC in 2017. We know that Call of Cthulhu will be an “RPG-Investigation game with psychological horror and stealth mechanics,” but the rest of the game is still shrouded in mystery… much like the beings at the center of Lovecraft’s writing. However, Cyanide did share a bit more before disappearing back into the shadows:

Developed by seasoned studio Cyanide, Call of Cthulhu is an RPG-Investigation game with psychological horror and stealth mechanics, set in a deeply immersive world. On a mission to find the truth behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family on a backwater island, the player will soon uncover a more disturbing truth as the Great Dreamer, Cthulhu, prepares its awakening…

Call of Cthulhu will be published by Focus Home Interactive and you can glimpse the first screenshots after the break.

Remedy registers trademark and URL for Alan Wake’s Return

alanwakelogoNow that Remedy Entertainment has completed development on Quantum Break (which will be available for the PC and Xbox One on April 5), the team might be getting ready to return to the adventures of an old friend.

Alan Wake was released for the Xbox 360 by Remedy in 2010, and now a trademark application for “Alan Wake’s Return” has popped up on the website for the European-based Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs). Remedy also recently went to the trouble of securing the AlanWakesReturn.com domain.

Remedy’s Sam Lake has often discussed his desire to bring back the Alan Wake series. Last year, he even admitted that an “aborted prototype” for the game could be found in his office.

Obviously, the developer’s true intentions are still a bit of a mystery, but a free copy of Alan Wake will be included with every pre-order for Quantum Break. And that is certainly a great way to get a more-or-less dormant franchise back in the spotlight.

Weekly Warp-Up: A New Pokemon Game is Coming This Fall…

No, that’s not a typo. Welcome to the Weekly Warp-Up, your weekly wrap-up of the biggest and the best articles posted at Warp Zoned this week…

Catch ’em all again this Fall as Nintendo and The Pokemon Company announced Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon for the 3DS earlier this week. We don’t know much about the next pair of Pokemon games, but we do they’ll be released this Fall.

In the more immediate future, Tom Clancy’s The Division will be available on store shelves in nine days, so we made sure to test the recent Open Beta.

Finally this week, the latest Kickstart This! column shines a spotlight on Need To Know, Essence: The Resurrection, and A Place for the Unwilling.

New Releases: Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Mortal Kombat XL, Far Cry Primal (PC), More

It’s a big week for re-releases as Nintendo, NetherRealm, Ubisoft, and NIS America are all giving some of their biggest games a second shot at the spotlight.

Nintendo is likely on the verge of another console transition, but the jump from the GameCube to the Wii felt unique in that players were given two chances to experience latest Legend of Zelda game. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes was available for both platforms back in 2006, but now it’s back for its tenth anniversary as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U. In addition to the enhanced graphics implied by the “HD” branding, Twilight Princess HD will include a new Challenge Mode, a harder Hero Mode, and a beautiful Wolf Link Amiibo figure.

Another game getting an expanded re-release this week, though less than a year after its original launch, is Mortal Kombat X. Available this week for the PS4 and Xbox One, Mortal Kombat XL will add in all of the previously released downloadable content as well as the four new fighters from “Kombat Pack 2” (Alien‘s Xenomorph, Leatherface, Bo Rai Cho, and Tri-Borg).

NIS America will also jump onto the re-release train with The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition, a PS4 remake of an action RPG originally released for the PS3.

And finally, after making its PS4 and Xbox One debut last week, Ubisoft’s Stone Age adventure, Far Cry: Primal, will be released for the PC this week.

Escape from a procedurally-generated cult in The Church In the Darkness

Jonestown… Waco… Heaven’s Gate… Images and feelings associated with these events are still burned into the fabric of society many years later. The aptly-named Paranoid Productions will draw on these events for their debut game, The Church In the Darkness.

Set in the 1970s, The Church In the Darkness will ask players to take control of Vic, a former police officer who is searching for his nephew at Freedom Town, a commune formed by the fictional Collective Justice Mission. Freedom Town is run by Isaac and Rebecca Walker, a married couple who might be trying to make the world a better place. But their commune could be a cult and their motives could be a bit more sinister.

As Vic, players will explore Freedom Town in a new way every time as each playthrough will ascribe new motivations to the Walkers and the other residents of Freedom Town. Using an overhead style similar to Metal Gear, you’ll need to use stealth to investigate the camp, but you also might have to resort to violence to make your escape.

The Walkers should sound familiar to a huge number of people as Isaac will be voiced by John Patrick Lowrie (the Sniper from Team Fortress 2), while his real-life wife, Ellen McLain (GLaDOS from Portal), will portray Rebecca.

Another familiar name, Richard Rouse III, is the Creative Director at Paranoid Productions. Rouse has bounced around the game industry a lot in the last 20 years, but he’s probably best known for The Suffering, an absolutely underrated game from the PS2/Xbox era.

The Church In the Darkness will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in early 2017.
