Bayonetta 2 coming in October; includes Bayonetta 1

Bayonetta 2 will be coming out this October for the Wii U, and it’s going to include the first Bayonetta! The original game will include some awesome costume changes for the leading lady, letting her dress up as Link, Samus, and probably many more. This trailer is completely crazy, and I have no idea what is going on. That isn’t really much of a surprise, considering I played the first game for like four hours and never, at any point, had any idea what was going on.

Bayonetta 2 will be out this October on the Wii U.

Let the latest Bayonetta 2 trailer bewitch you

“I’m on my way. Just behave yourself for a bit longer.”

Nintendo and Platinum Games still haven’t settled on a final release date for Bayonetta 2. The Wii U-exclusive sequel will be released sometime this year but “TBA 2014” is all we get for now. However, that hasn’t stopped Platinum from releasing the beautiful new trailer above as part of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. I will behave, Bayonetta, I will behave.

On the other hand, Captain Reynolds would be so disappointed in me if I did.

Operation Dead Angels launches “Bayonetta on Wii U” campaign

bayonetta-header

With Bayonetta 2 soon to be shooting and slicing its way onto the Wii U with a sexy smile, many have been wondering if the 2010 original would find its way onto Nintendo’s new platform. After a teasing tweet from Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya suggesting he could port the original to the Wii U before the sequel’s release…

…the Internet has done what it does best, created an online petition to demand something.

The group behind the “Bayonetta on Wii U” campaign is known as Operation Dead Angels. Originally released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to rave reviews, unfortunately, they did not translate into amazing sales figures. Kamiya has said in the past that if Nintendo had not acquired the rights to publish the sequel, it never would have seen the light of day.

It makes sense for all parties involved to release the original on the Wii U. For one, it will give Wii U fans a better sense of continuity for the sequel. But also, it will allow gamers a chance to revisit what should have been a better selling title, much in the same way Capcom’s Okami found new life on the Wii and PlayStation 3 after its original PlayStation 2 debut.

So if you want to see Bayonetta’s first outing on the Wii U GamePad, join up with Operation Dead Angels and start hounding Nintendo’s various Twitter accounts today!

Nintendo confirms Wii U launch day lineup

Nintendo released a tentative launch window lineup after their Wii U media event on September 13. Today, the consolemaker has published the official launch lineup, which includes 23 titles available on launch day.

Assassin’s Creed III, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition, ZombieU, and a whole slew of other games will be available on November 18. At least nine more titles (including Madden NFL 13) will make their way to stores (or the Wii U eShop) before the month is over.

An additional 20 games have been tagged as “launch window” titles, meaning they’ll be available sometime before March 31, 2013.

Three games which were listed on the tentative list are no longer considered launch window titles: Zumba Fitness Core, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and (brace yourself) Bayonetta 2. Presumably, they’ll be available in mid-2013 or later.
