Nintendo Download: NightSky, Liberation Maiden, New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC, more

Welcome to one of the biggest Nintendo Downloads ever. Level-5 (creator of the Professor Layton series) and Nicalis (creator of Cave Story) both have new games available that may be worth a look.
Liberation Maiden is an arcade shooter developed by Level-5 in conjunction with Suda 51’s Grasshopper Manufacture and is available today on the 3DS eShop. Also available to download from the eShop today is Nicalis’ NightSky, an “ambient” puzzle platformer that is sure to appeal to fans of Limbo.
The Virtual Console also gets a workout with today’s update as Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Castlevania: The Adventure have been added to the 3DS eShop while 1997’s Shock Troopers can now be downloaded to your Wii. Finally, the non-Virtual Console 18th Gate was added to the DSiWare Shop.
Two new Coin Rush DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2 rounds out today’s update. The “Gold Mushroom Pack” and “Coin Challenge Pack B” have been priced at $2.50 apiece.
One extra game will be added to the 3DS eShop this week. Level-5’s Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (look, we’ve come full circle) will be available to download on Sunday, October 28 (the same day its available in brick and mortar stores).

Nintendo dates new Professor Layton, Paper Mario, many more; delays Luigi’s Mansion 2

It’s beginning to look a lot like Fall as Nintendo has announced release dates for many of their biggest 3DS, 3DS eShop, and DS releases for the rest of the year.
Art Academy: Lessons For Everyone! and Crosswords Plus will lead things off on October 1. Style Savvy: Trendsetters launches later in the month on the 22nd and then Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask makes its North American debut on October 28.
The Big N also has a big November planned with Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive! (November 5) and Paper Mario: Sticker Star (November 11).
Sadly, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon won’t make it into stores before the end of 2012. The ghostbustin’ sequel has been pushed back and given a new “first half of 2013” release window.
Mamma mia! Oh well, hit the jump for a massive list of release dates for many of this Fall’s Nintendo-published and third party 3DS, 3DS eShop, and DS games. (more…)
