Michel Ancel teases concept art from Beyond Good & Evil 2
I know it’s been a long time, but Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development at Ubisoft under the direction of Michel Ancel. Further proof of the game’s continued existence was delivered by Ancel himself a few weeks ago during a Q&A session with BG&E Myth. At 2:06 in the video above, Ancel unfurls a poster showing Jade’s new character design. The image shows Jade wearing clothes and in a pose very similar to traditional Japanese drawings of samurai and ronin.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in development for next-generation consoles and will be released eventually. Probably a few years from now after several more teases like this one.
There are two Bumblebees in the latest Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark trailer
Activision’s Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will be released this year and it will combine the world of Michael Bay’s Transformers films (including this Summer’s Age of Extinction) with High Moon’s War For Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron series. The game’s latest trailer makes good on this promise with two versions of the little yellow robot that could: Bumblebee. The two never meet, but both “Earth” Bumblebee and the more lovable “Cybertron” Bumblebee will make an appearance in Rise of the Dark Spark.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is in development at Edge of Reality and it will be released for the PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in June. A slighty different version of the game is also in the works for the 3DS at WayForward Technologies.
Secret Ponchos is “about three months” away from being released
I got a chance to play Switchblade Monkeys’ Secret Ponchos this morning at PAX East and, in addition to trying out a sword-wielding character known as “Matador,” I learned that the game is “about three months” from release.
Developer Caley Smyth said that Secret Ponchos will be released this Summer (sometime around July) for the PS4 and PC. Both versions will appear around the same time, though the PS4 version, which will launch as a PlayStation Plus freebie, may be released a few weeks earlier.
We’ll have more from PAX East 2014 all weekend.

Supergiant Games has announced that Transistor, their followup to Bastion, will be released for the PC and PS4 on May 20. The developer has also announced that the science fiction-styled action RPG will carry a price of $19.99.
Supergiant plans to bring a “near-final build” of Transistor to this weekend’s PAX East convention and you can check a trio of new screenshots from this version of the game at their official website.

Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7
Several developers from Creative Assembly are currently on stage at the EGX Rezzed expo to give the gathered crowd a look at Alien: Isolation. In addition to showcasing their latest game, the developer has revealed that Alien: Isolation will be released for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on October 7.
Alien: Isolation will be published by Sega and will star Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Sigourney Weaver’s character Ellen Ripley. Unlike most games based on the Alien saga, Alien: Isolation will skip the shooting and attempt to recreate the absolute terror of the original 1979 film. As such, the game will only include a single Xenomorph, which Creative Assembly wants to ensure is “scary.”
If it bleeds… Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation Pack will feature the Predator

“You are one ugly mother…”
After resurrecting Michael Myers for the Onslaught Map Pack, Infinity Ward has revealed plans to bring a second horror icon to Call of Duty: Ghosts through the magic of downloadable content. A short teaser video posted to the official Call of Duty Instagram account gave us the briefest of glimpses of the Predator prowling the “Ruins” map from the upcoming Devastation Pack. And to make sure we know they’re serious, the developer even tagged the video with the film’s most famous quote: “If it bleeds…”
The teaser video has been embedded after the break, but don’t expect Arnold Schwarzenegger to save you this time. The Devastation Map Pack will be available to download for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 3. The pack is expected to be released for the PC, PS3, and PS4 in early May. (more…)
Robotoki will use CryEngine to develop Human Element for PC, PS4, Xbox One
Robotoki and Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward’s former Community Manager, are hard at work on Human Element, their first game. Yesterday, Bowling confirmed that Human Element will be developed using Crytek’s CryEngine as well revealed the game’s launch plans.
Human Element is currently in development for the PC and will be released in November 2015 (so says Bowling via Twitter). In addition to the PC version, the game is in the works for next-generation consoles (specifically the PS4 and Xbox One), but it is unknown when the console edition will be available. A mobile spinoff of the open world game where players are tasked with rebuilding the world 35 years after a zombie uprising is also in development.
“The ambitious narrative and gameplay of Human Element required an innovative set of features in order to achieve our vision.” said Bowling. “CryEngine is the perfect fit for us because it delivers so many powerful features straight out of the box such as the physical based shading system and the infinite terrain from segmented worlds to create a massive open world experience but still allow the visual fidelity and detail our players expect from a first person experience from our team.”
Bowling also confirmed (again via Twitter) that a Human Element prequel originally in development for the Ouya has been canceled.
Just Dance 2014 adds Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”
Ubisoft has announced that the soundtrack to Just Dance 2014 will include two of this Summer’s biggest songs: Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” I’m sure that all the people who love these two songs will be thrilled. Oh, and insert your own “Miley’s foam finger” and/or “Robin Thicke is a sexist” joke here.
Just Dance 2014 will be available for the PS3, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on October 4. A PS4 version will follow on Noveber 15 and an Xbox One edition will be released on November 22.
