The latest trailer for The Wonderful 101 is colorfully chaotic

When a bunch of comical aliens come calling for Earth, who ya gonna call? Remember, Will Smith is busy with being an actor and not an actual alien policeman. So how about The Wonderful 101? Developed by Platinum Games and controlled by the Wii U GamePad, The Wonderful 101 will definitely save the day!

The Wonderful 101 looks to take a ton of inspiration from another Platinum creation, Viewtiful Joe, but combines it with the group dynamics of Pikmin. And we’ll get a chance to try it for ourselves sometime this Summer.

Nintendo delays Game & Wario, Wii Fit U, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101

Nintendo spent the morning announcing official release dates for a huge number of games set to be released between January and April. But they also dropped a delay of game penalty on four high profile titles that were originally part of the Wii U’s “launch window.”

Game & Wario, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and Wii Fit U will all miss their previously scheduled first quarter release and, according to Nintendo, will now be released in the first half of 2013.

The new release date is vague enough that Nintendo could release any of these games by March 30 and still make the “launch window.” But if that was a possibility, why announce the delay at all?

Bayonetta 2 announced as a Wii U exclusive; Project P-100 now known as The Wonderful 101

Platinum Games has two games coming to the Wii U! In addition to the previously announced Project P-100, Nintendo has announced that Bayonetta 2 will be available as a Wii U exclusive, and it’ll be published by Nintendo. Hideki Kamiya, the Director of the original Bayonetta, will also lead the development team for the sequel.

Oh, and speaking of Project P-100, the game’s official title has been revealed: The Wonderful 101. That’s 100 heroes and “U,” the player.

Wii U will be playable at PAX Prime 2012

Nintendo has announced that if you’ve got a ticket to this weekend’s PAX Prime expo, you’ll be able to demo eight different Wii U games during the big show.

The lines are sure to be long, but expo attendees who brave them will be able to play…

  • New Super Mario Bros. U, the latest 2D Mario game
  • The long-awaited Pikmin 3
  • The minigame collection Nintendo Land
  • The superhero squad sim from Platinum Games, Project P-100
  • The Wii U-enhanced Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
  • Scribblenauts Unlimited, the hi-def sequel to the popular DS series
  • The Wii U-enhanced Trine 2: Director’s Cut
  • …and ZombiU, Ubisoft’s zombie epic

PAX Prime will take place this weekend (August 31 – September 2) at Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center.

Wii U launch lineup will include at least 17 games

Nintendo’s E3 Hub is an interesting place. In addition to hosting screenshots and video for most of the Wii U’s announced titles, the site also includes an early glimpse at the console’s launch lineup, which currently numbers 17.

There’s even a pair of previously unannounced games:

  • Project P-100, a Nintendo-published superhero game from Platinum Games!
  • Game & Wario, a WarioWare-like experience for the Wii U.
