EA wants to know if “Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2” in contest
With Dead Space 2 just a little over a week away, EA has launched a new contest on the Dead Space YouTube channel that seeks to find out if “Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2.”
Gamers are encouraged to show their moms a few scenes from Dead Space 2 and take pictures of the results. They must then tweet these pictures on Twitter with the hashtag #mymomhatesdeadspace2. The best reactions will be chosen by EA and win some sweet Dead Space 2-themed prizes (including a PS3 adorned with Isaac Clarke’s face).
EA has an entire playlist full of reactions already posted on YouTube, you’ll definitely want to check it out. Your mom might not.

Akuma, Taskmaster sneak into Marvel vs Capcom 3 as secret characters
IGN has posted videos revealing the two latest additions to the roster of Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds: Akuma and Taskmaster.
Akuma is Ryu’s red-headed archenemy from the Street Fighter franchise while Taskmaster is a Marvel villain that most often clashes with Deadpool. According to Eurogamer, both characters won’t be selectable at the start of the game. Akuma will be unlocked after acquiring 2,000 Players Points while Taskmaster requires 8,000. Eurogamer also claims that Capcom plans to round out the Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster by revealing two more characters.
You can see gameplay footage of Akuma and Taskmaster in action after the break. (more…)

New Releases: LittleBigPlanet 2, Mass Effect 2, Mindjack, More

What this week’s new releases lacks in quantity, it makes up for it in quality.
Sony’s second Sackboy adventure on the PS3, LitleBigPlanet 2, will be released this week. The sequel will add even more level creation options as well as include an expanded single-player campaign.
As PS3 owners get their second crack at Sackboy, they’ll get their first chance to experience BioWare’s Mass Effect series with a PS3 port of Mass Effect 2. Sticking with the science fiction theme, Square Enix will be bringing their body-hopping shooter Mindjack to the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Finally, PopCap Games has shrunk down Plants vs Zombies for a DS release.
The full list of the rest of this week’s new releases can be found below. (more…)
Ed Boon is taking your suggestions for Mortal Kombat DLC

Ed Boon and his team at NetherRealm Studios have been talking about downloadable characters for Mortal Kombat for a long time. The developer really wanted to release DLC character on Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, but Midway’s money troubles prevented any from ever seeing the light of day.
But Boon is nothing if not persistent and he has taken the question of which Mortal Kombat characters should be included in DLC to the fans. On Monday, he posted the following messages to his fans via Twitter:
Seriously guys. Tell me your order of preference for a DLC character. Rain, Shinnok, Kenshi, [Robo-Smoke], or new character?
Ooops…forgot one. Or Tanya.
So it’s probably safe to assume that Rain, Shinnok, Kenshi, Tanya and Smoke in his robot form won’t be included in the retail release of Mortal Kombat. But if I’m getting a vote, I’m going for Kenshi and Robot-Smoke. They were badass.
Mortal Kombat will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in April and I’m counting the days.

Dead Space 2 launch trailer dismembers the imagination
To the left you will find a candid photo of our very own Senior Editor Nicole Kline, utterly blown away in awe at just how awesome Dead Space 2 gameplay is. The picture was taken as she played the demo at PAX Prime last September, and you can expect it on every piece of coverage here at Warp Zoned on Visceral Games’ latest entry in their sci-fi odyssey. EA has released a new trailer depicting some of the jaw dropping moments you can expect from the sequel, as well as quotes from popular gaming media outlets on just how great it is. Even if you haven’t played the first one, you should absolutely check the video below. As I said in our initial podcast, I truly believe this is going to do for Visceral Games what Uncharted 2 did for Naughty Dog.

Rumor: Square-Enix registers domain name for Final Fantasy XIII-2
Even though we know little about the other games in the so-called Fabula Nova Crystallis project, it seems Square-Enix is moving forward with yet another game in the series – a sequel to the polarizing Final Fantasy XIII. According to this tweet, Square’s usual domain registrar acquired “FinalFantasy13-2Game.com” in recent days, signaling that a sequel is potentially in the works.
Of course, this could be domain squatting to keep others from purchasing the domain – you know, just in case! – but given what’s been said about cut content, and a likely need to add some more Yen to the Square-Enix coffers (FFXIII was in development for ages as you might be aware), it’s not out of the question that a direct sequel is on its way.
