Switch owners will be able to play a pre-release demo of Mario Tennis Aces on June 1-3

Nintendo has announced that Switch owners will get the chance to try out Mario Tennis Aces a few weeks early with a pre-release demo.

The Mario Tennis Aces demo will be available to download from the Nintendo eShop beginning May 24. The main attraction of the demo is a special online tournament that’ll take place between June 1st and the 3rd, but a single-player offline mode will also be included:

Once you join the tournament between June 1 and June 3, you can select between four main playable characters (Mario, Peach, Yoshi or Bowser) and compete in a series of online multiplayer matches. The winners of each match will earn points based on their performance, with five additional characters to unlock by gaining enough points. (We’ll let you discover who these characters are for yourself as you advance through the demo.)

In addition to the demo, Nintendo also gave fans a quick glimpse at Mario Tennis Aces’s Adventure Mode. The single-player mode will feature an escalating series of challenges that Mario must complete to save Luigi from certain doom.

Mario Tennis Aces will be released exclusively for the Switch on June 22.
