Bethesda and MachineGames are making a new Indiana Jones game

Indiana Jones 5 will supposedly ride into theaters in 2022, but filming has yet to start on what will (presumably) be the final film in the franchise. So what better time than now for Bethesda to announce that they’re working on a brand new Indiana Jones game?

Fittingly, the team at MachineGames will develop the next Indiana Jones game for the publisher. No doubt their decade of experience creating new adventures for Wolfenstein‘s BJ Blazkowicz will come in handy now that they’ve been tasked with bringing yet another famous Nazi puncher to life.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard will serve as an Executive Producer on the title, and the publisher will collaborate on the story with Disney’s newly reformed Lucasfilm Games division.

And that’s about all we know. We don’t know when the game will be released, and according to Bethesda, it’ll be “some time” before they have more information to reveal. And we definitely don’t know which platforms it’ll appear on. On that front, all we can really do is wonder what Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda means for the game’s eventual destination.

Will it be exclusive to the PC and Xbox Series X? Will the PS5 get the game? Will the Switch? Who knows! But it’ll be fun to find out.

In the meantime, a short Teaser Trailer has been embedded above.
