Dragon’s Dogma gets May 22 release date; includes early Resident Evil 6 demo access
Capcom has announced that Dragon’s Dogma, their open-world dragon-hunting game, will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 22. And to encourage gamers to take a chance on this untested intellectual property, Capcom is bundling a download token for a Resident Evil 6 demo with the game.
Capcom also seems to be encouraging gamers to purchase Dragon’s Dogma on the Xbox 360 as the token included in that version will grant access to the demo on July 3. PS3 players will have to wait until September 4 to download the demo with their tokens.
The demo will eventually be released to the general public, but exactly when that will be is still up in the air.
As is customary nowadays, several retailer-specific pre-order bonuses will be offered for Dragon’s Dogma. Pre-ordering from GameStop will net you the Pawn Upgrade Pack, “which will give players additional Rift Crystals allowing them to rent higher level experience Pawns from the outset.” Best Buy is offering the Armor Upgrade Pack (which is pretty self-explanatory) and Amazon will have the Weapon Upgrade Pack (also rather self-explanatory).

Microsoft: No Xbox 720 in 2012
Can it be? Are we actually about to report on some honest-to-god Xbox 720 news that came straight from a Microsoft representative. Why yes, we are.
Cedrick Delmas, Marketing Director of Microsoft France, recently sat down for an interview with French site Le Point (helpfully translated by Google Translate). He candidly discussed the future of the Xbox platform and confirmed that the Xbox 720 won’t be released in 2012:
We are in an industry where it talks a lot, it likes to tell stories. I am not convinced that things are happening this year. The cycle of the Xbox 360 is by no means complete. […] After that, it will happen at E3, it is still premature. What is certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012.
While it’s possible that Delmas isn’t privy to Microsoft’s secret plan to launch the Xbox 720 in 2012, I’d say it’s much more likely the Wii U will be the only next-generation system on display at this year’s E3 Expo.
Make contact with this Aliens: Colonial Marines cinematic trailer
There’s no gameplay. There’s no dialogue. There’s not much of anything except for a super classy look at the Colonial Marines doing their thing in Sega’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines.
I’d still rather be playing this game this Spring, but this trailer is a nice consolation prize for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and prospective Wii U owners everywhere.
Giants beat Patriots in Super Madden Simulation Bowl XLVI
EA Sports has run their annual Madden Simulation of the Super Bowl and this year’s edition of the game has the New York Giants emerging victorious over the new England Patriots 27-24. In a strange reversal of the their win in Super Bowl XXV, according to EA, the Giants will win Super Bowl XLVI on a last-minute field goal.
The game itself is predicted to be a shootout with Eli Manning throwing two touchdowns (one to Hakeem Nicks and one to Victor Cruz) en route to a Super Bowl MVP award. The simulation says that Ahmad Bradshaw will also run for a touchdown.
But Tom Brady won’t go easy on the G-Men. Mr. Gisele Bundchen hit Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Wes Welker for touchdonws in the loss.
EA Sports has been running a Madden Super Bowl Simulation for the last eight years and has amassed a fairly accurate 6-2 record in that time. However, last year’s pick was a bust as it predicted the Steelers would squeak by the Packers 23-20. Reality had different plans as the Packers beat the Steelers 31-25.
The only other time the Madden prediction was wrong was Super Bowl XLII… where the Patriots were picked to beat the Giants. Better luck this year, EA Sports (especially since I’m a Giants fan).

Pearl Pink 3DS arrives on February 10
Nintendo is hoping that couples will make this Valentine’s Day a gaming holiday as the company is rolling out a “Pearl Pink” 3DS on February 10. Hoping to make “sweethearts swoon,” the Pearl Pink 3DS will carry a $169.99 pricetag. The color was previously only available as part of a Nintendogs + Cats limited edition bundle.
So if you love pink, but hate puppies and kitties, this edition of the 3DS is for you.
See The Office recreated in Counter-Strike
We know that the officeworkers of “The Office” favor Call of Duty over Counter-Strike, but the latter game is the one that gets an amazing recreation of the set in the video above. Created by YouTube user Blitzkrieg1981, nearly every detail of the office is present and accounted for including Reception, Michael’s office, the Conference Room, the Annex, the Break Room, and the first floor hallway (which is home to Michael Scott Paper).
Of course, for true versimilitude, the mod also needs to include all of the melee weapons Dwight has stashed all over the building. Or maybe a threeway Mexican Standoff.
