Max Payne 3 gameplay trailer is sunny and superawesome
Proudly proclaiming that “This trailer was made entirely from in-game footage,” the first trailer for Max Payne 3 gives the world a first look at the gritty glitzy and grimy sunny world of Max’s new stomping grounds, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
OK, it’s a little odd seeing a Max Payne game that takes place in the daytime, but this trailer is an awesome piece of action movie candy.
Max Payne 3 will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March 2012 (for real this time!).

XBLA Today: Radiant Silvergun, Renegade Ops, Red Bull X-Fighters

Are you ready to experience some high-flying action with today’s Xbox Live Arcade update? Then obviously you’ve come to this news article to learn more about Konami’s Red Bull X-Fighters, a motocross racer that’s now available for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
Or… you’ve come to learn about the biggest game of September (suck it Gears of War 3)… Radiant Silvergun! Developed by Treasure, Radiant Silvergun was originally released for the Sega Saturn back in 1998 and never made it to America as the console had already crashed and burned on this side of the Pacific. The game serves as a prequel to Treasure’s beloved Ikaruga and the XBLA remake actually includes an Ikaruga-inspired mode. Radiant Silvergun is available to download for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), a much better price than the $100+ the Saturn disc used to command on eBay.
Also available this week is Sega’s vehicular combat game Renegade Ops. It too has been priced at 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).
More details on all three games can be found at Xbox.com (Radiant Silvergun, Red Bull X-Fighters, Renegade Ops).

GoldenEye: Reloaded gets its license to kill on 11/1; PS3-only Double 0 Edition announced
Activision has announced that James Bond will return on November 1. The superspy’s greatest video game adventure will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, complete with an HD coat of paint courtesy of developer Eurocom.
PS3 players will be able to take the James Bond experience further with the exclusive Double 0 Edition, which was also announced by Activision today. The Double 0 Edition will include a copy of the game, PlayStation Move motion and navigation controllers, a PlayStation Eye camera and the Sharp Shooter peripheral. The package will also include a bonus downloadable character, Hugo Drax. And yes, the supervillain behind 1979’s Moonraker will be packing a Moonraker Laser.
“Working closely with Sony, we’ve created a great bundle that arms fans with all the vital secret agent equipment right off the shelf,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. “We can’t wait for gamers to pick up the PlayStation Move and Sharp Shooter to experience a James Bond video game like never before.”
Q would approve.

Dead or Alive 5 coming to PS3, Xbox 360 in 2012; debut trailer released

It has been almost six years since Dead or Alive 4 was released as a launch title for the then-new Xbox 360. In that time series creator Tomonobu Itagaki and publisher Tecmo Koei have parted ways, Dead or Alive: Code Chronos was canceled and a bevy of spinoff titles have been released.
Today, Tecmo Koei used their Tokyo Game Show presentation to reveal that a fifth game in the main series, Dead or Alive 5, is in the works for the PS3 and Xbox 360. While development is still in the early stages, Tecmo Koei and developer Team Ninja wowed TGS attendees with a teaser trailer starring Ryu Hayabusa and Hayate fighting in a warehouse. Be sure to check out the trailer for yourself after the break.
The publisher also refused to call Dead or Alive 5 “just a fighting game,” preferring instead to call it “fighting entertainment.” Ah euphemisms, where would we be without them?

Super Mario 3D Land gameplay trailer is awesome… from a certain point of view
It’s looking more and more like Super Mario 3D Land is the game you’d get if you took all of Mario’s previous adventures and crammed them into a blender (albeit with a lot less blood and shredded moustache parts).
- There’s the 3D sections which look ripped straight out of Super Mario 64.
- There’s the side-scrolling portions that are very reminiscent of New Super Mario Bros.
- There’s the brand new overhead sections.
- There’s a Q-Bert-inspired isometric area.
- And there’s a flagpole at the end of each course.
So whatever your point of view, you’ll definitely want to “Let’s a go!” to the store on November 13 to pick up Super Mario 3D Land.

It’s a Mario Kart 7 gameplay trailer! Let’s a go!
Mario Kart 7 is a rather unimaginative title for the first 3DS game in the racing series, but after watching the gameplay trailer above, it certainly looks like it’ll scratch that kart racing itch. And be on the lookout for the new Fire Flower weapon and the new first-person mode.
Mario Kart 7 will be available in stores on December 4.

God of War Origins, From Dust, Renegade Ops, more added to PS Store
Prepare yourself PS3 owners, Sony has graced the PlayStation Store with another massive update that is sure to include something for everyone.
Leading the way this week is a downloadable version of God of War: Origins Collection. The HD remake of Kratos’s PSP adventures is also available in retail stores today.
Today’s PSN Play entry is Renegade Ops, a vehicular combat game from Sega where the vehicle combat doesn’t involve a tournament for psychopaths. I know, right? Instead, players get behind the wheel of “an elite mobile commando unit sent behind enemy lines to defeat Inferno, a madman intent on global domination!”
Also available this week is Eric Chahi’s god game, From Dust; budget racer Ferrari: The Race Experience; a downloadable version of Epic’s Bulletstorm; Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness, a Capcom fighter that never before made it to America; and PSone Classic Pong: The Next Level.
More information on all of this week’s new releases and game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation.Blog.

Square Enix still refuses to announce an HD remake of Final Fantasy VII. However, remake fever seems to be contagious at the Tokyo Game Show and you better believe that Squenix is a carrier.
