Moonrider is JoyMasher’s homage to Shinobi, Strider, and Hagane

JoyMasher is currently working on Blazing Chrome, a side-scrolling shooter that’s inspired by Contra and Metal Slug. But the Brazilian developer has also revealed they’re working on Moonrider, an homage to “futuristic ninja” platformers like Shinobi, Strider, and Hagane: The Final Conflict.

Moonrider is still very early in development (and presumably for the PC), but you can get a glimpse at a teaser trailer for the game embedded above.

Shelob isn’t just a giant spider in the latest Middle-Earth: Shadow of War trailer

Shelob is quite possibly the most famous spider in all of fiction, but the character will become so much more in this Fall’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.

“The Spider” revealed her human form to Talion and Celebrimbor in a new trailer for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War that was released during this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. Players will actually approach Shelob as something of an ally, and she’ll provide visions that help push the game’s plot forward. While that sounds like a good deal for Talion, I’m not sure I’d be able to trust a giant spider.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 10.

First Ready Player One trailer makes its debut during Comic-Con 2017

One of the biggest surprises during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was our first look at Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. Based on the novel by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One is a mashup of massively nerdy pop culture from the 70s, 80s, and 90s told within the digital landscape of a futuristic virtual reality platform known as OASIS.

With the film adaptation clearly playing to his strengths, Spielberg was able to create a world with some truly unique visuals, which you can see in the trailer embedded above. Keep your eyes peeled for a ton of Easter Eggs including Harley Quinn, the DeLorean from Back to the Future, The Iron Giant, Freddy Krueger, and a lot more.

Ready Player One stars Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke and it’ll open in theaters on March 30, 2018.

Spider-Man, Haggar, Frank West, Nemesis join Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite in Comic-Con 2017 trailer

The Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite roster recently expanded by four as Capcom revealed a new trailer featuring Spider-Man, Final Fight‘s Haggar, Dead Rising‘s Frank West, and Resident Evil 3‘s Nemesis during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The video also includes more footage of Thanos and Gamora, as well as the first look at the Mind Stone in action.

If you’re unfamiliar with any member of this quartet, the Capcom-Unity blog delves into their backstories a bit, and discusses how the Mind Stone can affect matches:

The Mind Stone is the fifth announced Infinity Stone for Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite. This stone brings a command grab type of attack to its wielder in the air and on the ground. Upon landing a successful Infinity Surge attack, the opponent will fall to the ground and wake up in a daze, giving the wielder plenty of time to set up their next attack. Activating the Infinity Storm gives players a boost in hyper gauge regeneration. Hyper gauge will naturally increase without performing any additional actions, letting players build up their powerful super attacks much faster.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 19.
