The first TitanFall expansion will be known as “Expedition”

The Respawn Entertainment panel at this year’s PAX East convention included a brand new tidbit of information about TitanFall that fans of the game may be interested in: details on the game’s first expansion. Known as “Expedition,” the first map pack for the game will be available this May and it will include three new maps: “Runoff,” “Swamplands,” and “Wargames.”
In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base. When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.
TitanFall: Expedition will be the first of three downloadable expansions for the game. The expansion will be released for the Xbox One and PC, as well as the Xbox 360. It will carry a $9.99 price tag on all three platforms, unless you purchased the TitanFall Season Pass, which includes access to all three packs for a discounted price ($24.99).
The Behemoth announces “Game 4” at PAX East 2014 with a shirt… or do they?
The Behemoth had a very strange shirt available for sale in their booth at this weekend’s PAX East event. The crimson t-shirt showed a cupcake riding a woman/spider hybrid. For some reason, a spoon-shaped scooper that looks to be holding ice cream is also involved. To top it off, this surreal image carries the caption, “Game 4?”
According to Destructoid, the question mark signifies that the shirt may not have anything to do with The Behemoth’s next game. The currently untitled “Game 4” might star the spider woman or it might all just be an elaborate practical joke from a company best known for their sense of humor. Whatever the case may be, Destructoid has learned that the game is in development for the Xbox One and that The Behemoth plans to reveal more at this year’s Comic-Con and PAX Prime conventions.
The Behemoth will release BattleBlock Theater on Steam later this year, so don’t expect “Game 4” to stay exclusive to the Xbox One for long.

Weekly Warp-Up: PAX East 2014 Edition
No, that’s not a typo. Welcome to the Weekly Warp-Up, your weekly wrap-up of the biggest and the best articles posted at Warp Zoned this week…
The majority of the Warp Zoned staff is currently taking in the sights and sounds of this year’s PAX East convention within the massive Boston Convention Center. We’ll do our best to file a few reports from the show floor and you can follow along by pointing your browser to our PAX East 2014 page.
But there’s still plenty of news from earlier this week to discuss including Mike Ryan’s “Thumbs-On Impression” of the GelTabz Performance Thumb Gripz as well as Dan Hobbs’ review of InFamous: Second Son.
You can find the rest of this week’s (surprisingly full) Weekly Warp-Up after the break. (more…)

New Releases: Trials Fusion, 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Conception II

Three new retail releases will compete for your gaming dollar this week…
RedLynx’s platform-racing series makes the jump to next-generation consoles with the release of Trials Fusion. The game will be available in a “Deluxe Edition” that includes a Season Pass so players can gain access to future downloadable content for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
Also available next week is 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The actual World Cup is still a few months away, so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare yourself with EA’s quadrennial tie-in game.
Finally this week, Atlus will release Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars for the 3DS and Vita. If the title didn’t tip you off, Conception II features an absolutely insane storyline that includes evil gods, a group of god-fighting cultists, and a whole lot of baby-making.
Yup, definitely a Japanese RPG.

Secret Ponchos is “about three months” away from being released
I got a chance to play Switchblade Monkeys’ Secret Ponchos this morning at PAX East and, in addition to trying out a sword-wielding character known as “Matador,” I learned that the game is “about three months” from release.
Developer Caley Smyth said that Secret Ponchos will be released this Summer (sometime around July) for the PS4 and PC. Both versions will appear around the same time, though the PS4 version, which will launch as a PlayStation Plus freebie, may be released a few weeks earlier.
We’ll have more from PAX East 2014 all weekend.

CoD: Ghosts Devastation Pack coming to PC, PS3, PS4 on May 8
Right on schedule, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ Devastation Map Pack will be available for the PC, PS3, and PS4 on May 8. The pack has been priced at $14.99 and will include four new multiplayer maps (“Ruins,” “Behemoth,” “Collision,” and “Unearthed”), the 2-in-1 “Ripper” SMG/Assault Rifle, and the Extinction Mode’s second episode (“Mayday”). And don’t forget, you can play as the Predator in “Ruins.” Definitely a point in its favor… as long as you ain’t got time to bleed.
In case you missed them the first time around, more information on all the new maps can be found after the break. (more…)

Nintendo Download: Lego The Hobbit, WarioWare, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Nintendo is continuing their monthlong Game Boy Advance blowout by adding two more games to the Wii U eShop: WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. WarioWare Inc. is the first game in the popular (and insane) series of microgame compilations, while Kirby & The Amazing Mirror is an action-adventure that stars four color-coded Kirbys in a game that’s very similar to Zelda: Four Swords.
Over on the 3DS, Lego The Hobbit is now available to download this week. It’s joined by several puzzle games, a futuristic racing game, a poker game, and Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars, a wild new JRPG from Atlus (it’ll be available on Tuesday, April 15).
More information on all of these games can be found after the break. (more…)
