Check out the full Beyond: Two Souls presentation from the Tribeca Film Festival
Developer David Cage held court last week at the Tribeca Film Festival, showing off his latest “interactive entertainment” achievement, Beyond: Two Souls. For a film geek like Cage, this had to be a dream come true.
During the 90-minute session, Cage demonstrated a 35-minute section of Beyond titled “Homeless” and then followed that up with a panel featuring some of the game’s stars (Ellen Page, Eric Winter, and Kadeem Hardison). If you’ve got the time, be sure to check it out.
Beyond: Two Souls will be available for the PS3 on October 8.

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC coming June 25

Borderlands 2‘s fourth (and final) downloadable expansion will be released on June 25.
Titled “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep,” the add-on will feature a storyline where “Tiny Tina is hosting a Dungeons & Dragons-like tabletop game.” The expansion will be available for $9.99 on PC download services and the PlayStation Store and 800 Microsoft ($10) on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Borderlands 2 Season Pass holders will, of course, be able to download it for free.

Nintendo Download: Tank! Tank! Tank! Free-To-Play, Mega Man, Pac-Man, more
The Wii U’s Virtual Console expands by two today as Nintendo has added the NES games Mega Man and Pac-Man to their next-generation gaming time machine. The 3DS Virtual Console also expands today thanks to the addition of Balloon Fight.
Another re-release makes the Wii U eShop a more interesting place today: the free-to-play version of Namco Bandai’s Tank! Tank! Tank! The game was originally released as a disc-based game in November. The new free-to-play version will offer the “base game” as a free download with the remainder of the modes and missions available as ten separate pieces of downloadable content.
If you’d prefer something new from your Wii U shopping experience, Neko Entertainment has published the puzzle platformer Kung Fu Rabbit on the Wii U eShop.
More information on all of these games, and other new releases this week, can be found after the break. (more…)
Activision on CoD: Ghosts for Wii U: “We aren’t dating next-gen platforms yet”
When Activision announced Call of Duty: Ghosts yesterday, a Wii U version of the game went unmentioned. As of right now, the November 5 release date only applies to the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Officially, the only “next-generation” version of Ghosts that exists is the one that will be revealed during Microsoft’s Xbox 720/Durango presentation on May 21.
But don’t count the Wii U out just yet.
In a statement to Examiner.com, an Activision spokesman said: “We don’t have any news for the Wii U at this time, as we aren’t dating next generation platforms yet. Stay tuned.”
So it looks like the Wii U version has been lumped in with the Xbox 720 and PS4 versions of the game, even though Nintendo’s system is available now. And while leaked boxart (like the Wii U version of Ghosts seen to the right) isn’t a perfect predictor of a game’s existence or non-existence, I think that image (along with Activision’s comments) should give Wii U owners plenty of hope for a Call of Duty: Ghosts release this November.

XBLA Today: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Welcome to the Future… 2007.
What? You don’t remember six years ago when an evil warlord built a skull-shaped fortress of death and rampaging Blood Dragons roamed the countryside? And Mark IV Cyber Commando Rex Power Colt saved the day? Is this really news to you?
Good thing we have Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon to chronicle this neon and chrome drenched war. It’s available to download from the Xbox Live Arcade today for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). And if you’re unfairly being kept away from your 360 all day, might I suggest viewing the launch trailer above?
Or reading the game’s righteous description:
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world. Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy SEALs) collide.

Killer Is Dead’s “Mondo Girls” trailer is out of this world
The marketing line for Killer Is Dead‘s most recent trailer, “Mondo Girls,” practically writes itself: Hot Women… Cool Jazz… Killer Is Dead
The “Hot Women” include an unnamed woman with a pixie haircut; Natalia, a blonde bombshell; Scarlett, a nurse clearly modeled after a certain movie star with the same name; and Koharu, a Japanese woman who is in love with assassin Mondo Zappa. The “Cool Jazz” is courtesy of Marica Hiraga, a singer that wouldn’t be out of place on stage in a smokey bar backed only by a cello and a trumpet.
So sit back and relax as both sides of Suda 51’s obsessions come together in this trailer. Just… don’t watch it at work.
Killer Is Dead is in development at Grasshopper Manufacture for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will be released in Europe by Deep Silver in August 2013. XSEED Games will publish the game in America and a Summer release seems likely on this side of the Atlantic as well.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Poker Night 2, Katamari Damacy, more added to PS Store

The over-the-top cliches, pulsing neon, and sheer lunacy that make up Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon are now available on the PlayStation Store. Ubisoft’s masterpiece is joined by Telltale’s poker room crossover, Poker Night 2; Keiji Inafune’s first post-Capcom game, Soul Sacrifice; and one of the greatest PS2 Classics of all time, Katamari Damacy.
A pair of special editions are also available on the PlayStation Store this week including “The Director’s Cut” of the divisive Deadly Premonition and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the PS3-exclusive special edition of Ninja Gaiden II.
Finally this week, the PlayStation Store will see the release of Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge, a PS3/Vita Cross-Buy title and the final “Spring Fever” game, and T.A.C. Heroes, a PSP shooter.
More details on all of these games can be found after the break and a rundown of this week’s new game add-ons is available at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
