The marketing line for Killer Is Dead‘s most recent trailer, “Mondo Girls,” practically writes itself: Hot Women… Cool Jazz… Killer Is Dead

The “Hot Women” include an unnamed woman with a pixie haircut; Natalia, a blonde bombshell; Scarlett, a nurse clearly modeled after a certain movie star with the same name; and Koharu, a Japanese woman who is in love with assassin Mondo Zappa. The “Cool Jazz” is courtesy of Marica Hiraga, a singer that wouldn’t be out of place on stage in a smokey bar backed only by a cello and a trumpet.

So sit back and relax as both sides of Suda 51’s obsessions come together in this trailer. Just… don’t watch it at work.

Killer Is Dead is in development at Grasshopper Manufacture for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will be released in Europe by Deep Silver in August 2013. XSEED Games will publish the game in America and a Summer release seems likely on this side of the Atlantic as well.

Do they celebrate April Fool’s Day in Japan? Maybe I should check Google… OK, they do. Either way, this bizarre (and 100% real) trailer for Suda 51’s Killer Is Dead tops every joke trailer released today by quite a bit.

How crazy is it? It starts out pretty normal for a video game, with the main character attempting to stop an alien invasion. Then a woman grows 12 arms (in addition to her two regular arms), grabs a gun with each hand, and tries to murder him (by the way, he’s actually a secret cyborg). And all of this is backed by the rising crescendo from Kill the Wabbit the Apocalypse Now theme “Ride of the Valkyries.” Oh, and a stinger at the end of the trailer has revealed that the third Killer Is Dead clip will be titled “Gigolo vs Sexy Monster.” Oh Suda 51, never change.

Killer Is Dead will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this Summer.

We missed this one last week, but XSEED Games confirmed that they are indeed the publisher of Suda 51’s next game, Killer Is Dead. The game will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this Summer.

European/Australian gamers will be happy to know that Grasshopper Manufacture’s latest will also be available in Europe and Australia this Summer courtesy of Deep Silver.

Have you checked out the first Japanese trailer for Killer Is Dead yet? Suda 51’s next game won’t disappoint his hardcore fans as it looks as ridiculously cracked as all of his previous efforts. And now we know which publisher plans to bring it to America.

XSEED Games has purchased the URL killerisdead-game.com, and while it isn’t confirmation that they’ve chosen to publish the game, it is a pretty big hint.

Killer Is Dead will be released this Summer in Japan. XSEED will presumably announce a US release date (and their official involvement as the game’s publisher) soon.

The latest from Suda 51 starts off sexy and ends with a lot of gore, which is no surprise. Killer Is Dead is a story about love and execution, if we’re to believe this over-the-top trailer narrated by the main character, executioner Mondo Zappa.
