PixelJunk Lifelike details revealed
Q-Games has released details on another new exclusive to the PlayStation Network, PixelJunk Lifelike. They’ve reunited with Baiyon, the artist and musician who had worked previously with them on PixelJunk Eden. The new and innovative Lifelike puts “the power of creation directly at your fingertips” with the use of the PlayStation Move controller, allowing players to use its “unique Virtual Audio Canvas to mix tracks and experiment with audio effects” in order to make “breathtaking compositions they can share and broadcast to anyone and everyone!”
I’m not sure what the hell is going on here, but they said that you can paint with sound, and that you “can move to the mellow sounds of Baiyon and create visuals organically according to each player’s movements, creating a unique experience unlike any other music visualizer.” No word yet on whether this will come with hallucinogenic drugs or if this is a game that children should not be playing due to the fact that it will trigger an acid trip. Either way, I’m sure to buy it – those geniuses could make PixelJunk Backgammon and I’d still buy it.

Daily Scoop: June 8, 2011 – all E3, all the time
It’s the second day of E3, and watching it from afar is like pure torture! Especially seeing some random person’s video of PixelJunk SideScroller gameplay. Why is that game not playable in my living room right this very second??? Unfair.
Today’s Deal of the Day in video games at Amazon is Namco’s Tekken 6 on the PSP. It’s on sale for $14.76 from $29.99. which is more than 50% off! Not a bad deal if you’re into this genre.
Nothing else to report today, bunnies. Unless you like DINOSAURS! Rawr! Tee Fury’s “Duck and Cover” shirt rawks:
The big doom-boom is coming!

PixelJunk SideScroller detailed by Q-Games
Those little devils over at Q-Games have been very, very busy. PixelJunk SideScroller wasn’t only announced at E3, it’s also currently playable on the E3 show floor. This clever little sidescroller was originally an unlockable level in PixelJunk Shooter 2, but it’s grown into its own game. Loaded with their trademark “flowing liquids and hazardous gases,” Shooter gets a new spin, transforming into an all-new experience. The enemies are familiar and the projectiles are flying faster than before. The game will have “brand new levels and ferocious boss attacks” – but we expected nothing less from the mind of Dylan Cuthbert.
PixelJunk SideScroller will also have puzzles, “vector-like visuals,” a customizable arsenal, difficulty settings, and leaderboards. Oh, and of course, you can share your feats via YouTube as well. No word yet on how this fits into the PixelJunk series as a whole. This PlayStation Network game should be released later this year, so be on the lookout.

Daily Scoop: June 7, 2011 – Infamous 2!
So it’s the first day of E3, and it’s also launch day for inFAMOUS 2. Can anyone confirm what the replica slingpack looks like? Is it like, a real bag you can use? Anyone? Bueller?
Well, there’s not much else going on today, really. I guess the Internet figured everyone would be too busy with E3 to offer any good deals. All Amazon’s got is there Deal of the Day in video games, which is EA’s EA Sports MMA for the PlayStation 3, which is just $14.99. Those awesome Dads & Grads deals are still going on, so go gobble up some handheld games, wouldja? Unless you’re like us, and you’re super excited about the PS Vita, and you aren’t sure how you feel about buying another UMD…
That’s all for today, folks. Except this t-shirt, which is called Intensive Candy Unit and reminds me of Viva Pinata:
I suddenly want some licorice.

Sony @ E3 11: Jack Tretton delivers heartfelt apology
Now that the presser’s over, I wanted to add one extra thing: Sony CEO Jack Tretton’s apology. Tretton stood up on stage at the start of the press conference to address the “elephant in the room” – namely, the PlayStation Network outage. He said “you’re welcome” to the press for giving them bad news to report on, thanked both third party developers and retailers, and gave a heartfelt message to PlayStation fans. “It is you that both causes us to be humble and amazed in the dedication and support you give the PlayStation brand,” Tretton said.
Aww. We <3 you too, Jack. And for the record, I loved your tie.

Sony @ E3 11: Details announced for LittleBigPlanet on PlayStation Vita
Everyone knew LittleBigPlanet would be coming to PlayStation Vita, but it was hard to imagine exactly what that entailed. With the touch screen interaction, it’s easier than ever to play, create, and share in the LittleBigPlanet world. The game will have all the tools from LittleBigPlanet 2, and players will have full access to their costumes from the PlayStation 3 games.
No word on any release dates so far for any of the Vita games.

Sony @ E3 11: ModNation Racers announced for PlayStation Vita
