I’m a sucker for Final Fantasy shirts, especially those with Moogles on them. But I’ll get to those in a moment. Let’s talk about deals first!

There’s a new Humble Weekly Bundle called Je Suis Charlie, and it’s full of games from French developers. Pay what you want for Type:Rider, Finding Teddy, and Little Big Adventure. Pay $6 or more to unlock FarSky, Strike Vector, and the audiobook of Homeland by Cory Doctorow. All proceeds will go to charity.

The Weekend Deal at Steam is The Evil Within. Until January 26, you can pick up the game for just $20.40. Today’s Daily Deal is Spec Ops: The Line, which is 80% off at $5.99.

OK, NOW we can talk about t-shirts. (more…)

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection brings Borderlands 2, Pre-Sequel to PS4, Xbox One

I’m having some serious feelings right now, Internet.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will bring the Borderlands series to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the first time on March 24. As expected, it compiles Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel – and all of the DLC for both games – into a single package for $59.99. You can transfer save files and characters between the last-gen and the new-gen and, of course, it’s also got updated graphics.

All of that is sort of ho-hum, until you get to the part where the games now have four-player couch co-op. Oh, and there’s an absurd $399.99 special edition of the game that comes with “a remote controlled Claptrap steward robot, a collectible steel case, and 12 exclusive lithographs.” There are only 5,000 of these being made available worldwide, and pre-orders open today, so you better get on it fast if you want one.

Having played a zillion hours of Borderlands, I shouldn’t even consider buying this. But honestly, if it had the original Borderlands in it as well, I would have already pre-ordered it, as it’s the only one I haven’t played with Anthony Amato. And I don’t have $400 just laying around to buy that Claptrap Edition. But… But… I really want to!

Hit the jump to see what comes in the “very limited” Claptrap-In-A-Box Edition. (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 19, 2015 – Super homework time

I envisioned some video games this weekend, but sadly, I have played very little. I’ve mostly done homework, homework, and more homework. Hopefully this means I’m doing really well in my class, but right now, I can’t even think straight. So, um, yay education?

But, in case you are home and want to play some games today, here are some deals for you. At the Humble Store, they’ve got early access to Life is Feudal: Your Own for $26.65, The Fall for $4.99, and Tristoy for $14.99.

Steam has tons (110, to be exact) of new Weeklong Deals available now, including Postal 2 for $1.99, Retro Rampage DX for $3.99, and The Tiny Bang Story for $0.49. The Daily Deal is Enforcer: Police Crime Action, which is on sale for $9.99.

If you’re here for t-shirts, don’t worry – there are lots after the jump. (more…)

Ascension: Deckbuilding Game Review: Docking at the Port of Sadness

ascension-header

Let me just get this out of the way: Ascension is my favorite deckbuilding game of all time. There are lots of fun deckbuilders out there, but nothing compares to Ascension. I’ve played the original tabletop version and I’ve also played it on my iPad. And now that it’s available on the PC, I’ve played that version as well. Sadly, I have to say that the PC version, titled Ascension: Deckbuilding Game, is my least favorite way to play the game. However, despite the performance issues I had with the game, playing it on your PC might be the easiest way to gain access to the world of Ascension. Short of spending tons of money on the tabletop version or playing it on your mobile device, that is. (more…)
