Daily Scoop – September 26, 2014 – Weekend at last
I was going to make the subject “Weird at last,” but then you’d all know that I’ve been listening to Welcome to Night Vale a lot. Well, actually, I guess that’s not a bad thing – just bad that it took me so long to start, and now I can’t get enough of it. If you haven’t started yet, I highly recommend it!
Anyway! Let’s talk about deals. There’s not much going on today – Steam’s Daily Deal is Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion for $9.99, which is 74% off. Their Weekend Deals include the Valve Complete Pack, which has Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Team Fortress 2, among many others. It costs just $24.99, which is pretty absurd for how much content you’re getting.
There’s not much else going on, though you can always, always count on the Humble Store for at least a few deals. Pick up Pid for $1.99 or Shelter for $2.99.
And finally, t-shirts:

United Front announces Sleeping Dogs spinoff Triad Wars
“Triad Wars is an online open-world action adventure PC game where you rise to power as a criminal kingpin of the Triad underworld,” says developer United Front Games. Triad Wars is meant to be the other side of the Sleeping Dogs world – instead of playing as good guy Wei Shen, now you’re trying to build your own gang. You can fight your way to the top – or extort your way there.
Triad Wars is PC-only, and you can sign up for the closed beta right now. They’re also having a Reddit AMA today at 12:00 pm PST (3:00 pm EST), so bring your questions!

Final Fantasy XV gets a TGS 2014 trailer; Tetsuya Nomura steps down as director
Square Enix showed a trailer for Final Fantasy XV yesterday at the Tokyo Game Show and… what is happening, are they driving a car? The prince is sleeping? What am I even watching? I don’t even know what’s going on, and I’m still excited anyway. The game will be released for PS4 and Xbox One, and while there’s no release date, there will be a playable demo packaged with Final Fantasy Type-0 when it comes out on March 17, 2015.
Square Enix also announced that director Tetsuya Nomura will be replaced by Hajime Tabata, allowing Nomura to “focus his full efforts as the director of other highly anticipated titles, including Kingdom Hearts III.” That’s a lot of serious announcements for one day. Thanks, Square Enix!
