Sony @ E3 14: InFamous: Second Son standalone DLC announced

During their 2014 E3 Press Conference, Sony showed a very brief trailer for InFamous: First Light, an all-new add-on chapter related to the PS4 title InFamous: Season Son. Though First Light will standalone and doesn’t require Second Son to play. The protagonist in this story is Fetch, and she appears to have some pretty neat Neon abilities.
InFamous: First Light is set for release this August.

Sony @ E3 14: Bloodborne announced

Sony’s next PS4 trailer in their jam-packed E3 Press Conference is for Bloodborne, a dark and disturbing title that looks like a cross between Castlevania and Silent Hill. Previously known as Project Beast, not much was shown of the From Software-developed game, but what was looks amazing.
Bloodborne is set for release in 2015.

Sony @ E3 14: LittleBigPlanet 3 is PS4 bound!

Continuing with the surprises, Sony announced another big PS4 title: LittleBigPlanet 3!
The third iteration of the series brings new characters Oddsock (a SackDog), Toggle (a SackBrawler), and Swoop (a SackBird) to the game, further placing importance on cooperation. Each character will have their own abilities. Swoop can fly, Oddsock can run up walls, and Toggle’s weight can trip switches. Toggle can also become tiny in order to fit in small places.
Expect LBP3 to hit stores in November.

Next up on Sony’s E3 announcement block is Entwined, a trippy-looking PS4 title where you control two phoenix-looking souls with the DualShock 4’s sticks. The game looks beautiful – a lot like Rez – but a lot more tranquil.
Surprise – the PS4 game is available right now for $9.99 – so go get it!

Rayman Legends Review: Old School Bliss

You can go ahead and keep your “Last of Uses” and your “Grand Theft Autos” – when it comes to amazing titles of the previous generation, I’d put Rayman Origins at the top of my list. The game was perfect in so many ways. The animation, the music, the gameplay – every aspect of that game was a work of art. And although it had quite a bumpy ride – going from a Wii U exclusive to being delayed to releasing on all consoles – its sequel, Rayman Legends is finally available for the next-generation consoles… and not much has changed. It’s more of the same from Rayman and his buddies, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. (more…)
Thumbs-On Impressions: GelTabz Performance Thumb Gripz

While a fantastic piece of hardware, the DualShock 4 is not without its issues, the most pressing of which is the quality of the analog sticks. Many gamers have reported cases of the rubber peeling off the sticks. Sony even issued a statement that they are looking into the problem and offered to replace any damaged controllers as they are covered under the warranty. I have not experienced this problem with my DualShock 4, but I have had a different issue: the sticks are slippery as hell.
Sure, it could be my thumbs, but I don’t remember perspiring this much during a gaming session, let alone having overactive sweat glands on my fingers. The issue really comes into play when I’ve got the analog stick pressed for an extended period of time, like during the flying race levels in Lego Marvel Heroes or certain challenges in Rayman Legends. Or pretty much the entirety of Resogun. I’ve found myself losing a life or throwing myself off-course due to having to reposition my left thumb, which can be the difference between life and death, or getting a silver medal instead of a gold. The Walking Dead Season 2: A House Divided Review: Strength In Numbers

Telltale’s Walking Dead games can be tough to review. The series is so heavily focused on story that it becomes increasingly difficult to write a review without giving away some of the finer plot details. In the Walking Dead universe, characters you’ve grown attached to are taken away in the blink of an eye, and if you know what will happen beforehand, the emotional impact is greatly lessened. In that regard, I’ve opted to provide a separate, spoiler-free review of The Walking Dead Season 2: A House Divided. That way, those of you who haven’t played the game can read on, knowing that nothing will be ruined. I promise to avoid any specific information or plot points throughout the rest of the review, so you can still feel confident in reading the entire review without learning too much.
Spoiler-Free Review: The game is amazing – go buy it right now!
OK, now that we have that out of the way, on with the review. (more…)
