Square Enix will release a patch to restore SNES-era graphics to Chrono Trigger on PC
Square Enix surprise-launched Chrono Trigger for the PC back in February, but fans were disappointed that the publisher used the remastered visuals from the mobile re-release instead of the 16-bit sprites from the original Super NES game. Thankfully, it looks like they’ve seen the error of their ways.
The publisher announced (via Steam) that a series of patches will be coming to Chrono Trigger, and the first will include an option to switch back to the RPG’s “original graphical style.”
Thanks for all of your feedback, patience and support so far.
We have been working on addressing the issues that you’ve raised, and will be releasing a number of patches over the coming months as we continue to support CHRONO TRIGGER on Steam.
We’re aiming to release the first of these patches in the first half of April, and the biggest change is that it will include an option to switch between the current high-resolution graphics, and the original graphical style of CHRONO TRIGGER.
The patch is scheduled to be released sometime in “the first half of April,” so it should be available any day now.

Original arcade release of Punch-Out!! is now available to download for Switch

Nintendo released the original Punch-Out!! to the delight of arcade gamers everywhere long before Mike Tyson ever stepped into a digital ring. Featuring a familiar lineup of boxers, a wireframe Little Mac, and a unique two-screen design, Punch-Out!! was a smash hit that later inspired the Tyson-led console conversion, as well as a Super NES sequel and a Wii reboot.
But we can talk about the followups later, because earlier today, Hamster Corporation surprised us all by adding the arcade edition of Punch-Out!! to the Nintendo eShop. Priced at $7.99, Punch-Out!! for the Switch includes the option to display the game’s two monitors side-by-side or in their arcade-authentic vertical orientation.

Lindsay Lohan loses appeal in her lawsuit against GTA5 and Rockstar Games
The beancounters at Rockstar Games can rest easy, the Court of Appeals in New York has firmly shot down Lindsay Lohan’s lawsuit against the publisher.
If you recall, the actress originally sued Rockstar in 2014 over her belief that a character from Grand Theft Auto V named Lacey Jonas was based on her “portrait and voice.” The character was regularly depicted in the game’s advertising as a blonde woman in a red bikini, and she also appeared in an optional in-game mission. After lengthy legal proceedings, Lohan’s lawsuit was dismissed in 2016, but she vowed to appeal.
Yesterday, that appeal came up short as New York’s Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling in the earlier case. Judge Fahey wrote that even if Lacey Jonas had been inspired by Lohan’s “portrait,” Rockstar cannot be held liable because she’s a fictional character that’s never identified as Lohan in the game:
We conclude that the amended complaint was properly dismissed because the artistic renderings are indistinct, satirical representations of the style, look, and persona of a modern, beach-going young woman that are not reasonably identifiable as plaintiff.
In addition to shooting down her lawsuit, the Court of Appeals also ordered Lohan to pay Rockstar’s court costs.
