Battlefield 3 to be unveiled at GDC
When Electronic Arts released a Limited Edition of Medal of Honor last year, the box included a multiplayer beta invite for the upcoming Battlefield 3. While technically unannounced at the time, the publisher plans to lift the lid on the third game in the Battlefield series during a March 1st event at this year’s Game Developers Conference.
Besides Battlefield 3, the entire all of EA Partners’ 2011 releases will be on hand at the show including Spicy Horse’s Alice: Madness Returns, Easy Studios’ Battlefield Play4Free, Crytek’s Crysis 2, 38 Studios’ Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning and Grasshopper Manufacture’s Shadows of the Damned.

Wesley Snipes comes to App Store in Julius Styles: The International
Wesley Snipes has had a rough couple of years recently. After a string of theatrical (and direct-to-video) flops, the action star was arrested for failure to pay his taxes and is currently serving time in a federal prison.
But that hasn’t stopped him from announcing his next project, an iPhone/iPad game titled Julius Styles: The International that promises to combine action and puzzle-solving. According to Snipes, “This project was inspired by my desire to bring my Art of War, Murder at 1600 and Passenger 57 characters into the game world. Julius Styles will offer something for both the mind game strategist and the kick-ass special ops warrior lover.”
Developed by Lapland Studios, the game will be added to the App Store in June, with plans to bring it to the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and the Android App Store after that. The actor even plans to star in a movie featuring the Julius Styles character.
But it’ll likely be a long wait before the movie hits theaters as Snipes is scheduled to remain in prison until July 19, 2013.
Bungie copyrights possible titles for their New Universe

The anonymous Internet detective that ran superannuation may have left his website in the past, but several recent Twitter updates prove his sleuthing skills are still top notch.
He has discovered that Bungie has registered several new copyrights with the US Copyright Office and several domain names to go with them. These copyrights are likely connected to their New Universe and most of them relate to religious mythology in some way. The possible titles/related words include:
Dead Orbit
New Monarchy
Osiris
- No related URL registered.
Seven Seraphs
Bungie signed a ten-year agreement with Activision last year to publish games set in their New Universe. Here’s hoping we learn more about Dead Orbit/Seven Seraphs/New Monarchy/Osiris or whatever it might be called soon.
Goro, Jade added to Mortal Kombat roster
Game Informer’s February 2011 issue keeps the hits coming as the magazine has konfirmed (via Mortal Kombat Online) that Goro and Jade will be appearing in this April’s Mortal Kombat reboot.
Goro is the four-armed giant you see to your left. He also served as the sub-boss of the original Mortal Kombat arcade game and has become a fan favorite over the years thanks to his rivalry with Johnny Cage. According to Mortal Kombat kreator Ed Book, Goro’s role in the upcoming game will once again be as a boss. And as of right now, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be a playable character.
On the other hand, we have Jade (the green counterpart to Kitana and Mileena), who was also revealed by Game Informer. The magazine depicts her wielding her boomerang weapon and looking awesome doing it in a costume that looks like a mashup of her Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat: Deception threads.

Silent Hill: Downpour washes away SH8 working title

Silent Hill 8 is no more! Don’t worry, it wasn’t canceled, but the Vatra Games-developed PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title finally has an official title: Silent Hill: Downpour.
The February 2011 issue of Game Informer will have more information, but they promise that water will be everywhere in Downpour: “It’s falling from the sky! It’s running from the ceiling! It’s in puddles on the ground!”
Game Informer’s February issue should be arriving in subscriber’s mailboxes now.

The Secret World MMO to be co-published by Funcom and EA
EA has teamed up with independent developer Funcom to release their new MMO, The Secret World. This upcoming MMO on the PC is set in the modern days, and allows players to become members of one of three secret societies – the Illuminati, the Dragon, and the Templar. The struggle for power will cross many locations, including Egypt, London, Seoul, and New York, and will include monster battles. Sounds like National Treasure meets World of Warcraft, if you ask me.
Funcom has previously developed more than 20 games, including MMOs Anarchy Online and Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. There’s no release date yet on The Secret World, but the community currently has hundreds of thousands of beta players, according to a new press release. Seems like a smart move for all parties involved.

NetherRealm spends a “Night Out With Mileena” in new Mortal Kombat trailer
“What would you do on a night out with Mileena?”
This question was recently posed to the developers of Mortal Kombat at NetherRealm Studios and this new trailer proves that they know how to show a girl a good time. Especially a girl with razor sharp fangs and demonic blood flowing through her veins.
In addition to getting an inside look at the twisted minds that make Mortal Kombat, the trailer features plenty of gameplay footage of Mileena doing what she does best. NetherRealm has really played up the demonic angle to the character for the upcoming reboot and you can expect lots of blood and lots of boobage from Mileena.
April (when Mortal Kombat is released on the PS3 and Xbox 360) can’t come soon enough.
