Daily Scoop: February 10, 2011 – I’m so vain
It’s Thursday morning, and what am I doing? I’m listening to the most recent episode of the Warp Zoned Podcast again, because it is really funny. Give it a listen! You won’t be disappointed. Unless you don’t like hearing us talk about peanut butter and jelly.
Today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games is Atari’s Freddi Fish ABC Under the Sea for the DS. It’s $14.99 down from $19.99, and it’s perfect for kids ages 3-5, according to the cover – which also says it’s “Parent Approved.” Well, that’s a relief!
Also, Atlus is having a huge PSN sale, so you should get on that as soon as possible. I am most likely going to buy Hexyz Force, because I’ve wanted that game since before it came out. But I am already playing so many games, and I own so many games, and I’m trying not to get ridiculous here, people.
Speaking of which, this shirt is ridiculously awesome:
It’s Droid Berg. It’s…Android + Zoidberg. It’s already been purchased. Damn you, Tee Fury! *shakes fist*

Daily Scoop: February 9, 2011 – Sales, sales, sales
Wednesday is here! And with it comes great responsibi- errr, some good game deals. Yeah!
First up is today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games, which is WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 by THQ. It’s just $34.99 today for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. That’s…whoa. That’s 42% off. And if you’re a geek worth anything, you know that’s got significance.
Amazon’s also having a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale right now as well. Add to that Gamestop is having two sales right now – buy two new games (in-stock) for $39.99 or higher and get $15 off your total (with code 2SAVE15) and there’s also buy two or more new games and save 10% (with code DATENIGHT – you know, for Valentine’s Day and all). That’s a pretty good list of deals, if you ask me!
It wouldn’t be a Daily Scoop if I didn’t mention a t-shirt, and since I seem to lean towards the Star Wars ones, today’s Tee Fury shirt is a perfect way to end it:

Daily Scoop: February 8, 2011 – Boring Tuesday
The wind is blowing outside, turning what should be a relatively warm 40 degree day into the same freezing garbage we’ve had for ages. Please, winter! I’ve already surrendered! And the groundhog did a thing! What the hell, man?
Anyway, there’s not too much happening out there today in video game land. Today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games is 101 in 1 Sports Party Megamix by Atlus for the Wii. It’s $14.99 down from $19.99. Look, Atlus, unless you want to talk about Radiant Historia, I’m going to go take a nap now. K? Thx bye.
Other than that, the humor on this shirt is not “lost” on me, if you know what I’m saying:
See what I did there?

Daily Scoop: February 7, 2011 – No, I will not stop talking about Dead Space 2
Why should I stop talking about Dead Space 2? I just reviewed it, I’m working on a review of Dead Space: Extraction, I’m about to start Dead Space: Ignition, and my Rig Backpack just got here, with the awesome t-shirt and lithographs that accompany it. Backpack of the year, man.
I also had nightmares last night about Necromorphs. I must not be the only one, because today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games is Dead Space 2. The regular edition is on sale today for $39.99 from $59.99, and the collector’s edition is on sale for $59.99 from $79.99. Fans of the game should absolutely get the collector’s edition, especially if you own a PS3, because it comes with Dead Space: Extraction with upgraded HD graphics and Move compatibility.
This is a lot of awesome for a Monday. I think I might just go home, put on this backpack, bust out my Plasma Cutter, and see how sci-fly I can possibly be.

Daily Scoop: February 4, 2011 – Ideas for Valentine’s Day edition
Just a quick note before I talk about Valentine’s Day: today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. It’s $14.99 down from $19.99 for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS. That’s a lot of Star Wars!
And now for what you really wanted to hear about! Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us. If you’re shopping for that special geek, Thinkgeek’s got you covered. I’m currently kind of smitten by the 8-Bit Flower Bouquet, and I love the Circuit Sweetheart Necklace. For the more intimate gift, I would definitely recommend getting your girl some Geek Panties or, if she’s into web design, the HTTPanties would be a sure hit. And if all else fails, telling your geek you love them with an “I <3 my Geek" t-shirt is a safe bet (and you can get it for men or women). And what’s more, you can get $10 off orders of $40 or more by using the code “PLAYER2.” D’aww!
Penny Arcade is also having a sale, albeit a small one. Their two shirts with hearts on them are on sale for $14 (see what they did there?) – the Heartris and Life tees.
Looking for something a little more unique? The geeks over at The Daily What featured an amazing Valentines For Nerd Love Of The Day with some awesome 8-bit cards for sale at Paper Rock Scisorz’ Etsy Page. This one is totally my favorite:

Daily Scoop: February 3, 2011 – No, really, it’s a trap
Good morning, dear readers! Welcome to another edition of the Daily Scoop. Today we’ve got an Amazon Deal of the Day in video games, and it’s one that I find to be winter-friendly. It’s Activision’s Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011 with Top Shot Elite for the Wii. Buy this for the gamer who likes to hunt but not when it’s ridiculously frigid outside. It’s $39.99 from $59.99, so grab it while it’s hot.
Remember that addiction I talked about in yesterday’s Scoop? Well, I don’t think I’m going to be able to stop myself this time. I mean…just look at today’s shirt.w00t:
My threshold for temptation is being tested. Will I be able to resist?

Daily Scoop: February 2, 2011 – I love t-shirts
It’s no secret that I have a pretty serious t-shirt addiction. I had a lot of t-shirts before my first PAX, and now, four PAXes later, I’ve got another 50 – and that’s just the free ones. E3 wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but I still got a handful of shirts there, too. No matter what the vessel, this addiction has been getting fed pretty regularly.
Anyway, writing this Daily Scoop has done nothing to curb it – if anything, it’s made it horribly difficult to stop myself from buying these shirts every day. This one from Tee Fury is certainly not helping:
I mean, really. Just look at that. I feel like some days, these daily t-shirt sites are singing songs to me, asking me to show them what love is.
That’s all for now. Oh wait, it’s not. Go read my review of Dead Space 2!

Daily Scoop: February 1, 2011 – When it rains, it pours
So it’s been slim pickings lately, but today…TODAY!!…it’s really exploding. There’s a lot going on! Not to mention it’s finally February, which means it’s one step closer to saying goodbye to this bipolar winter. Woo!
Today’s Amazon Deal of the Day in video games is Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 for the Wii. It’s just $9.99 today from $19.99, so if you don’t have a copy, you don’t really have any excuse not to pick this up. My excuses are that I’m broke and already have a billion games I need to play. But really, are those such good excuses?
In the t-shirt world, we have a lot going on. Today’s Tee Fury t-shirt is one of those “Coexist” shirts, but each letter is from something famous in science fiction or fantasy. I don’t know if those two things will ever have equal footing, though. It reminds me of Thinkgeek’s Coexist shirt, which uses letters in fonts from several different major console brand names.
But the proverbial cake is taken by shirt.w00t.com today, because seriously, there’s so much awesome I might just be forced to buy this. It is pure brilliance.
