Daily Scoop: August 14, 2013 – Anniversary edition

Hello hello, faithful Warp Zoneders! I’m happy to announce that today is my two-year anniversary with the amazing Anthony Amato! It’s been an incredible ride, and I’m so happy to have shared these last two years with him. In a few weeks, we’ll be going to our first PAX Prime together! I’m so excited to be returning to Seattle and to be able to go with him. Happy anniversary, Anthony! Let’s go home and play some Dragon’s Crown.

Well, actually, what we’ll be doing tonight is heading to Redcap’s Corner for Session 0 of the new Encounters season! It’s character creation, so if you want in on the party, stop on by!

Not a lot going on with deals, other than tons of cheap DS and 3DS games keep popping up on my recommended sidebar on Amazon. The Legendary Starfy is $9.23, Shinobi is $7.99, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is $6.79, Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is $9.69, and Shifting World is $9.27. Whew!

Daily Scoop: August 13, 2013 – A word about Xenoblade Chronicles

Well hello there, gamers! Today is Tuesday, which means it’s board game night at Redcap’s Corner! I’ll be there with my copy of Quarriors, so I really hope people are ready to roll some dice. Anthony is also bringing the board game he’s been working on, so we will be killing some Kobolds as well. Good times!

No deals for you today, but some interesting information about Xenoblade Chronicles. In case you missed out on it, it seems that it’s currently available at GameStop for $90. This is for a used copy of the game – not even a new one. You’re not even guaranteed a box. According to Kotaku, GameStop is charging such a high price because of the current market value of the game. I can attest to this, as I’ve been digging through eBay for a copy since I played Pandora’s Tower, but with little luck. By “little luck” I mean “little luck of spending under $100.” So, it’s crazy, but if you’ve been looking for a copy, this might be your best bet!

Daily Scoop: August 12, 2013 – Busy weekend!

Hey everyone, and welcome back to the work week! How did your weekend go? Mine was absolutely fantastic! I logged a lot of hours in video games (Dragon’s Crown and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch), finished a movie (Equilibrium), finished one book and started another (The Ocean at the End of the Lane and Orange is the New Black), and watched Breaking Bad. It was amazing! Oh, and I played some Shadowrun, and a bunch of board games, too. Whew! It was busy!

There aren’t really a lot of deals going on today! Amazon is having some back-to-school deals (yikes, already?), including Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes for $14.93, Lego Lord of the Rings for $16.23, Lego Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey for $20.94, and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy for $19.99. Scoop ’em up!

Daily Scoop: August 9, 2013 – Otter edition

It’s finally Friday! And I can’t wait to start my weekend. It’s going to be full of games (video and board) and a book club meeting about the latest Neil Gaiman novel. Oh, and hopefully doing some laundry, and maybe sleeping. Fun times!

Daily Scoop: August 8, 2013 – New Humble deals

Oh man, it’s Thursday! Normally that means heading to Cipher Prime for Dev Night, but tonight is the only night our new Dark Sun campaign group can get together. I’m pretty excited! Then afterwards I hope to have enough time to rock out to some video games all night. Woo!

There’s a brand new Humble Weekly deal up right now! They’re featuring Introversion Software, and the deal includes Uplink, Darwinia, Multiwinia, and Defcon. As usual, the soundtracks are also included. You should check it out!

Daily Scoop: August 7, 2013 – Sims deals

It’s Wednesday yet again, which means we’re halfway to the weekend! I plan on getting as much gaming in as I can. In the meantime, I’ve been squeezing in some time with the Legend of Dungeon beta. Spoiler alert: it’s super fun.

Amazon has a bunch of deals right now on Sims games. The Sims 3 Worlds Bundle is $14.99, The Sims 3 Expansion Bundle is $29.99, The Sims 3 Supernatural is $14.99, The Sims 3 Seasons is $28.94, The Sims 3 University Life is $19.99, and The Sims 3 Monte Vista is $14.99. Whew! That’s a lot of Sims on sale!

Daily Scoop: August 6, 2013 – Lots of shirts

Hello, everyone! It’s a lovely Tuesday here in Philadelphia, where it’s about to start pouring at any minute. I’ll take this over the usual scorchers we have in August! It’s a gorgeous day to stay inside and play video games, which is how I plan to spend my night. I am tempted to go play board games at Redcap’s Corner, like I usually do, but I was there until midnight last night playing Shadowrun, and I am plum tuckered out.

What kind of deals are up today? Well, the Humble Bundle I mentioned on Friday has three more games now. The Deep Silver Bundle has expanded – it now has the original games, Saints Row: The Third (and “The Full Package”), Saints Row 2, Risen 2: Dark Waters, Sacred 2 Gold, Dead Island GOTY, as well as some new ones: Metro 2033, Risen, and Sacred Citadel.

There are also a few new deals over at Amazon, including Injustice: Gods Among Us for $39.99. Scoop it up!

Daily Scoop: August 2, 2013 – Hey y’all! It’s Friday!

It’s Friday! Which is exciting, because it means a weekend full of gaming. We’ll be playing some fun video games tonight, and then tomorrow, we’ll be playing our second Epic Tier mod in Dungeons & Dragons! And Sunday I plan on just playing more video games and maybe playing my favorite house-related game: do the laundry. What fun!

As far as deals go, there’s a brand new Humble Bundle available! This one is the Deep Silver bundle, and it’s got Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row 2, Risen 2: Dark Waters, and Sacred 2 Gold. If you pay more than the average, you can get Dead Island GOTY, and Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package, which includes all DLC. And if you pay $25 or more, you also get Dead Island: Riptide. It’s a pretty fantastic deal!
