Daily Scoop: August 1, 2013 – BioShock deals
What a crazy day it’s been here in Philadelphia! It was pouring rain all day, but now the sun is actually trying to shine. It’s definitely been an interesting summer!
There aren’t a lot of deals going on today. In fact, the best one I was able to find was another one on Amazon. It’s a downloadable PC deal called the Bioshock Triple Pack, which includes BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite. There are no DLCs included, but hey, while you’re at it, you might as well get the season pass for Infinite!
Just two shirts today, everybody: (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 30, 2013 – PlayStation 4 launch bundles
Hey everyone! It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means – board game night! I’m hoping to make it late tonight to Redcap’s Corner for some Super Dungeon Explore, which is an amazing game. It’s sort of like Gauntlet, but a board game. It even has spawn points and everything. Although there isn’t any food to shoot!
Anyway, there’s really not much going on today deal-wise, which is good and bad. Good because I’ve got so many games I already own that I need to play, but bad because there are so many games I don’t own that I want to play, too. I will tell you a secret, though – I finally pre-ordered the PlayStation 4. I ended up getting the Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle, which is sold out again already. But don’t worry – you can still nab bundles with Battlefield 4, Killzone 4, or Knack.
There are plenty of great shirts today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 29, 2013 – Nearly August!
It’s nearly August, and you know what that means… it’s nearly time for PAX Prime! The PAX 10 was just announced, and one of my 2013 darlings, TowerFall, is on the list! I couldn’t be more excited. Congratulations, Matt Thorson!
Amazon is having a few decent deals today. The featured ones right now are Dishonored for $19.99, Metro Last Light for $39.74, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition for $39.99. Scoop ’em up!
There are a few great t-shirts up today…

Daily Scoop: July 25, 2013 – 3DS games
It’s a beautiful day here in Philadelphia! I hope it’s beautiful where you are, too, dear reader. I can’t wait to go home and play video games all night – that is, after my book club, and dev night down at Cipher Prime. Thursdays are always so busy, but so full of fun!
There aren’t really any new game deals going on today, but I will admit that I’ve heard a lot of people saying that this is the best time to own a 3DS. It seems that Amazon must have overheard people saying that, because they’re featuring a few in their 3DS Summer of Games promotion. They’ve got Animal Crossing: New Leaf for $31.49, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for $28.72, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins for $22.82, and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for $30.85. If you still need to pick up the handheld, might I recommend purple?
And now, time for the t-shirts! (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 24, 2013 – PC Deals
Last night’s board game night was an amazing success! My darling boyfriend Anthony has been working on a board game, and we playtested it all night. It was amazing! There were also lots of people there I hadn’t seen in a while, so it was great to see everyone and have some fun interacting. Also, we got an advanced copy of a very special video game and ended up playing it all night. More details when I’m allowed to discuss it!
There are some crazy deals going on at Gamefly according to Cheap Ass Gamer. Not only are their downloadable games really cheap, but you can save an additional 20% off with the coupon code GFDJUL20. L.A. Noire the complete edition for $5.99? Yes, please!
There are also a few deals at Amazon right now, though the most interesting thing listed on that page are all the pre-orders. They don’t seem to give out $10 credit for pre-ordering games as much anymore, but if you like that deal as much as I do, you can get it with Batman: Arkham Origins, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, and Saints Row IV.
There’s just one new t-shirt up today: (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 23, 2013 – Skylanders on sale
Well, the heatwave finally broke – sort of. Now it’s just a mix of heat and rain, like it was weeks before the heatwave. Last night, there was an awesome thunderstorm, but even that didn’t last long enough to cool things down enough. Is it fall yet? Sheesh!
Amazon is running a batch of Video Game Gold Box deals today and the Deal of the Day is for the Skylanders Giants Starter Kit! They’re selling it for $29, which is a whopping 52% off. That’s a pretty good deal! Many of the other Gold Box bargains are also Skylanders related, but Epic Mickey 2 (9 PM Eastern) and Hitman: Absolution (11 PM Eastern) will also go on sale for a limited time today.
Finally, there are lots of great t-shirts available today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 19, 2013 – Melting
Just when I didn’t think it could get any hotter, it went and did. Supposedly it’s going to rain this weekend, but I’ll believe it when I see it. All I know is I’m going home tonight, cranking up the air conditioning, and playing video games all night. Well, maybe I’ll do some laundry and other responsible stuff, but I wouldn’t hold your breath, guys.
So there are two amazing things happening today – one is that Monaco is on sale for 50% off on Steam (and they’re matching it on their website!). Also in today’s Steam deals are Skyrim ($35.99), Grid 2 ($29.99), and Metro Last Light ($29.99), among others. Check the sale out!
There’s also a new Humble Weekly Bundle out, and this one is a must-have! It’s the discography of Jim Guthrie, and right now it’s under $5. Go treat yourself! You won’t regret it.
And let’s wrap this up with a few t-shirts: (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 18, 2013 – I hate heat indexes
Yeah, so, it’s a million degrees everywhere, and I am really tired of it. That’s the bad news. The good news it that I went to the dentist this morning and I don’t have any cavities! Huzzah! So, all in all, a pretty great day, in spite of the melting part of it.
Anyway, it’s a new day, which means there are new sales going on over at Steam. What did you spend your money on today? Was it Torchlight 2 for $4.99? Garry’s Mod for $2.49? Or maybe that little game you might have heard of, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, for $19.99? Oh, and you can still get XCOM: Enemy Unknown for $9.99.
As always, I’ve got some shirts for you! (more…)
