In a report coming from IGN, Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed and verified Hennig’s departure from the the studio. Her final day was Monday, March 3. Unnamed sources within the studio claim that Hennig was “forced out” by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, the minds behind The Last of Us, and that Uncharted 4 on the PS4, which Hennig was in charge of until she left, is now under the control of the pair.
Sony issued a statement announcing Hennig’s departure: “We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.”

Dog owners (and everyone else) will get a kick out of the first TitanFall TV commercial
There’s a little dance that dog owners do when their pet pooch approaches another dog during a walk down the street. The dogs will eye each other and the friendly ones will pull and tug on their leashes because they want to play with their new best friend. But sometimes, one or both of the dogs will pull and tug because the mere presence of another dog on their sidewalk offends their canine sensibilities. “This is my sidewalk,” they think, “I just peed on it.”
Keep that in mind as you watch the first television commercial for Respawn Entertainment’s TitanFall.
TitanFall will be released for the PC and Xbox One on March 11 with an Xbox 360 edition to follow on March 25. A special Xbox One + TitanFall bundle will also be available on March 11 if you haven’t selected a next-generation system yet.
BioWare might bring the Mass Effect Trilogy to PS4, Xbox One

Aaron Flynn, the General Manager of BioWare Montreal, recently took to Twitter to confirm that the developer has thought about bringing the Mass Effect trilogy to the PS4 and/or the Xbox One:
@shinobi602 @YanickRRoy We have discussed that internally. If we can put solid plans together we'll share. Great to hear you're keen
— Aaryn Flynn (@AarynFlynn) March 2, 2014
The Mass Effect trilogy has spread far and wide in recent years, so it’s a bit hard to remember that the game was originally an Xbox 360 exclusive published by Microsoft. But after EA’s purchase of BioWare, the franchise expanded to the PC, PS3, and the Wii U. So a PS4 or Xbox One port wouldn’t be entirely unprecedented. Developers talk about remakes and re-releases all the time. Especially when new consoles become available. But the timing of Flynn’s reply is especially interesting. The original question was asked on December 9, which was 82 days ago. What reason would Flynn have for answering that question now? Especially when all eyes are currently focused on the officially announced Mass Effect 4.
But to paraphrase someone who probably paraphrased Freud, sometimes a tweet is just a tweet.

Rocksteady returns with Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC, PS4, Xbox One
Rocksteady Studios has finally emerged from the shadows and shone a spotlight on their next title… Batman: Arkham Knight. The next chapter in the Arkham saga will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime this year. But before that, it will grace the April 2014 cover of Game Informer. The magazine has also provided a look at an an extended four-minute trailer that will give gamers a taste of Rocksteady’s next-gen ambitions. The trailer can be found after the break.
As The Joker died at the end of Batman: Arkham City, the Caped Crusader will require a new set of foes to tangle with. In Arkham Knight, Batman will apprehend Scarecrow, The Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, and many others. And after a jump to next-generation consoles, the area that Batman will be patrolling has increased quite a bit. In fact, Gotham City has expanded so much that Batman will be able to drive the Batmobile through the streets in pursuit of the city’s criminal element.
Finally, Rocksteady has confirmed that they will not develop any Batman: Arkham games after the release of Batman: Arkham Knight. So I expect fans to start clamoring for a Batman Beyond adaptation any day now. (more…)

Peggle 2 comes to Xbox 360 on May 7; Duel Mode DLC available for Xbox One now

A few days after PopCap confirmed that Peggle 2 is in development for other consoles, the game’s publisher, Electronic Arts, announced that an Xbox 360 version of the game will be released on May 7. Peggle 2 for the Xbox 360 will come complete with Duel Mode, a versus mode where two players can pit their peg-busting skills against each other in a head-to-head battle, either locally or online.
Peggle 2 was originally released as an Xbox One exclusive in December and if you own the next-generation version of the game, you can try out Duel Mode today. The versus mode is now available as a free download for all Peggle 2 owners. If you’re unfamiliar with Peggle 2, allow me to let PopCap try to convince you to try it: “Just as in the classic original, Peggle 2 combines elements of pinball, pachinko and billiards and adds liberal doses of whimsy, fun, excitement and challenge – not to mention rainbows and a fifth of Beethoven.”
Also, there are magic unicorns and sentient pumpkins. What’s not to love?
