Nintendo Download: Kid Icarus 3D, I Must Run!

Welcome to today’s Nintendo Download where we tell you all about a “3D Classics” version of Kid Icarus on the 3DS eShop and the running-platformer I Must Run! on the DSi Shop.
OK, done. Now let Nintendo tell you about them again, in a bit more detail:
3D Classics: Kid Icarus (3DS eShop) – Relive Pit’s first adventure in 3D Classics: Kid Icarus as you venture from the depths of the underworld up to the heights of the sky palace. Play in 2D or 3D as you face down the evil goddess Medusa.
I Must Run! (DSiWare) – I Must Run! is a skill-based action running game. Jump across gaps between jail buildings, run through a subway station, and test your reflexes in a deadly dash over construction site cranes.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Hands-On Preview: Tapping to Familiar Tunes

Say what you will about Square Enix; they know the recipe for what their fans like. They know if they take equal parts cute and fun and mix in a sprinkle of nostalgia, they’ve got our money before we even know we’ve given it up. They’ve got a seemingly never-ending supply of resources in their library, with a huge list of popular franchises. So it’s no surprise that their new rhythm game for the 3DS, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy – still mocked for its ridiculous name – was a big hit at PAX East. (more…)

Nintendo Download: Ketzal’s Corridors, Anne’s Doll Studio

Nintendo is adding only two games to their various download services today, which is quite possibly a first for the company. Perhaps the creation of WiiWare and DSiWare games is coming to an end?
But any future speculation hasn’t stopped today’s addition, which include the Tetris-like puzzler Ketzal’s Corridors (3DS eShop) and paper doll simulator Anne’s Doll Studio: Tokyo Collection. Yes, you read that correctly.
More info on both of these games can be found after the break. (more…)
New Releases: Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir, Phantom Breaker, More
If you’re spending this weekend in Boston for PAX East, next week’s new releases are probably the last thing on your mind. Well, that’s not entirely accurate as Nintendo is demoing Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir and it’ll be available in stores next week. It is next week’s biggest new release by far, though a trio of other games will be available…
There’s Phantom Breaker (Xbox 360), a 2D fighting game from new publishing label 7Sixty.
There’s also the 4-In-1 Action Pack (PS3), which includes Mushroom Wars, Digger HD, Smash Cars and Wakeboarding HD.
Finally, there’s Top Trumps: NBA All Stars, which is a game that is for the 3DS. And it features Top Trumps.
Who? Top. Trumps.

Nintendo Download: Colors, Racers, and Penguins

It’s another mish-mash of titles in this week’s Nintendo Download. Want the scoop? Here’s what’s available…
TNT Racers (WiiWare) – TNT Racers is a fun multiplayer game that combines fast-as-lightning racing action with new features. TNT stands for Tracks N Tricks – cool tracks and snappy gadgets lead to one powerful adrenaline kick.
Colors! 3D (3DS eShop) – Colors! 3D is a simple yet robust painting application that combines ease of use and powerful painting tools. Tailored for touch-screen devices, it caters to everyone from serious artists to aimless doodlers.
Penguin Patrol (DSiWare) – Waddle We Do?! Baby penguins have been stranded on thin ice by the evil (but oddly stylish) Walrus, and it’s up to the Penguin Patrol to rescue them!
PAX East 2012: Play Mario Tennis Open, Spirit Camera, more with Nintendo

Are you planning on attending PAX East 2012 this weekend? If so, then be sure to stop by the Nintendo booth where you’ll get a chance to try out Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir and Mario Tennis Open for the 3DS before you can buy them.
The Big N is also bringing a bunch of copies of Kid Icarus: Uprising for players to try as well as hosting a scavenger hunt for select Uprising AR Cards.
Finally, playable demos of Mario Kart 7 and a smattering of 3DS eShop titles (Ketzal’s Corridors, Dillon’s Rolling Western, Pushmo, and Sakurai Samurai: The Art of the Sword) will be available at the Nintendo booth (#412) all weekend long.

Nintendo Download: ARC Style Soccer 3D, 90s Pool

It is Thursday, isn’t it? Nintendo has added two new titles to their various download services today: ARC Style: Soccer 3D on the 3DS eShop and 90s Pool on the DSiWare Shop. How 90s is 90s Pool? Maybe these game descriptions from Nintendo will let us know…
ARC Style: Soccer 3D (3DS eShop) – Enjoy fast-paced matches with the simple controls of this casual soccer game. You can customize your teams’ names and uniforms, or even use a photo of your own face.
90s Pool (DSiWare) – Chalk up a victory with classic 90’s Pool, a fun and realistic pool simulator which will keep you playing for hours!
So… not 90s at all then.
