Gamers unite for campaign to bring back Mega Man Legends 3

Capcom has had a string of bad news last week, none more disappointing than the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 for the Nintendo 3DS. Die-hard fans have responded in a number of ways, but none as classy or hopeful as the group “100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3.” Hoping to take the high ground in this mess, the group states, “we want them [Capcom] to see the error of their ways, not go out of business.” You can keep up to date with the group through their official site, Facebook page, or by following them on Twitter.

Their cause is a noble endeavor and we at Warp Zoned wish them the best of luck. If you have a second be sure to like their Facebook, it’s the least you could do for dedicated fans of a much-missed franchise.

Zelda producer warming up to idea of Majora’s Mask 3DS

We had a great time playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, as seen in our review, so we wouldn’t turn down a 3D remake of the other Nintendo 64 Zelda title, Majora’s Mask. As it turns out, neither would series producer Eiji Aonuma.

Aonuma recently spoke with Nintendo Power, dishing out tons of juicy details on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, notably how this is probably the “deepest and longest” Zelda title yet. But when asked about the possibility of Majora’s Mask getting the glasses-less 3D treatment, he went beyond the usual “if the fans want it” rhetoric.

“Thinking on it now, having a handheld Majora’s Mask where you could kind of just set things down on your own time – close it, set it aside and come back to it later – might be a game play element some fans will actually take to and might really appreciate,” said Aonuma. “Especially considering how you really had to rush through the original game, in a sense.”

Majora’s Mask has been popping up in discussions a lot lately, what do you think? Would you like to see Ocarina’s sequel popping out of the screen, or maybe another entry? Let us know in the comments.

Amazon halting Cosmo Black 3DS orders

Just this morning, Amazon.com posted an “Item Under Review” update to the Cosmo Black Nintendo 3DS. While this jumps out as the possible massive health epidemic that The Sun has been praying for and Nintendo President & CEO Satoru Iwata has been dismissing, it’s most likely just some kind of minor defect with Amazon’s stock. The Aqua Blue model is still available, which suggests this may just be relegated to the Cosmo Black units and not a health problem with glasses-less 3D in general. The update states:

While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it’s described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We’re working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

So if you’re an Amazon buyer who absolutely wants the black model, just give ’em a few hours and hopefully this will be resolved!

UPDATE: Whatever problem Amazon found with the Cosmo Black 3DS has been fixed. The handheld is available for sale once again.

New Releases: Catherine, Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions, The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff

It’s a heatwave and it’s only going to get hotter when Catherine is released in stores next week. The “infidelity sim” will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in a standard edition, an alternate cover version and a “Love Is Over” deluxe edition that comes complete with the main character’s clothes and a body pillow depicting the hot blonde he hooks up with. Like I said… It’s going to get hot, hot hot.

Also available next week is Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions, a remixed compilation of two of the greatest 80s arcade games; The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff, another collection of goodies and gadgets for your Sims; and Wildlife Park Tycoon, a game that lets you unleash your inner John Hammond.

Nintendo Video service now beaming 3D video content straight to your 3DS

I guess when Nintendo said the 3DS’ Nintendo Video service was “coming soon” yesterday, they really meant it.

The Nintendo Video service will be releasing exclusive 3D videos from Jason DeRulo, Foster the People, CollegeHumor, and the always intriguing Blue Man Group. You can also get video of extreme sports, animation from some indie studios, and 3D trailers for upcoming Hollywood blockbusters. On July 27, OK Go will debut a new music video with the 3D version exclusively on Nintendo Video.

All you have to do is download the Nintendo Video app from the eShop. That’s it. As long as you’re near a wi-fi hotspot and have SpotPass enabled, the video queue will automatically be updated.

Nintendo Video coming to America “soon”

The Nintendo Video service is not currently available from the 3DS eShop. I repeat, the Nintendo Video service is not currently available from the 3DS eShop. However, Nintendo used this week’s Nintendo Download to announce that the service will be coming soon.

When’s soon? Nobody knows. But here’s what this week’s real Nintendo Download looks like:

3DS owners will have a chance to download a 3D Classics version of the NES game Xevious. They’ll also have access to this week’s DSiWare offerings: Trollboarder, a snowboarding game with trolls (not what I expected at all); Antipole, a gravity-reversing shooter; and Kung Fu Dragon, a martial arts training game.

The WiiWare service will receive one new game today, Bobby Carrot Forever, a puzzle platformer starring Bobby Carrot.

More information on all of the games in today’s Nintendo Download can be found in Nintendo’s weekly newsletter.

My release date sense is tingling: Spider-Man Edge of Time coming Oct. 4

Activision has unveiled a new trailer for Spider-Man: Edge of Time at Comic-Con and announced the game’s release date along with it. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (and his future counterpart, Spider-Man 2099) will make their way to the 3DS, DS, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 on October 4.

But for now, be sure to check out the trailer above. It gives a very revealing look at some of Spider-Man’s opponents in Edge of Time.

Do a barrel roll in 3D with Star Fox 64 3D trailer

If you had a Nintendo 64 back in the day and took time out from leaping on goombas and playing your ocarina, then you certainly must have played Star Fox 64. It has become one of those games that has risen up into classic status alongside Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

And now you can do a barrel roll in 3D! Check out the new trailer above complete with all that stellar voice acting you know and love.

Along with some funky new features to play along with your friends, Star Fox 64 3D should provide us all with that warm blanket of nostalgia we need until Nintendo releases The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Star Fox 64 3D will be released on September 9, 2011.
