Daily Scoop: August 1, 2012 – I miss Encounters
I haven’t been to D&D Encounters much this season because… well… it was really terrible. At my table, we had five deaths in four weeks – yikes! And I mean actual deaths. My character went from single digits to negative bloodied in one hit. That should never even be a thing that happens! Anyway, the next season will be starting up soon, so here’s hoping it’s a better one!
There are no good deals for you today. In fact, there’s nothing interesting at all going on at Amazon, unless you count the recommendations it’s been making me (trust me, you don’t want to know). But there is one awesome thing going on, and that’s the Ukiyo-e Heroes Kickstarter, an amazing Japanese woodblock print project. It’s a mashup of that old art style with – you guessed it – video games. It’s incredible and you should totally throw money at it.
Just one t-shirt today, but it’s a pretty good one… (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 31, 2012 – Board Game Night!
Hooray for Tuesday! It’s sort of become my favorite day of the week, because of Board Game Night at Redcap’s Corner. My boyfriend and I meet some friends there and play some mixture of games – I’ve had an addiction to Lords of Waterdeep lately, and King of Tokyo is always a big hit. Yay for board games!
Anyway, let’s talk some deals, shall we? GameStop has a bunch of crazy deals going on right now that they’re calling GameStock 2012. The featured deal right now is $20 off Warner Bros. games, including Mortal Kombat and Batman: Arkham City. There are lots of other deals, too – like getting 50% off a three-month XBL Gold membership if you buy an Xbox 360 console, and $10 off any WB-published Lego game (that one ends today!). And don’t forget to check out all the pre-owned deals.
One super awesome t-shirt, coming right up… (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 30, 2012 – Just another panicked Monday
The weekends just got better with the return of “Breaking Bad.” But now my Sunday nights are spent watching that and “True Blood,” usually while eating Chinese food and trying to stay awake. Oh yeah, and doing homework. That last part is lame, but the other parts are awesome, so that’s ok!
Let’s see, deals today… well, let’s start with the latest sale going on over at Amazon, which is just called the Summer of Games: Deals on Summer Sports Titles. Riveting already, yes? You can get Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics for $29.99, or London 2012 for $39.99, or Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 for $19.99. Scoop ’em up!
The new weekly deals are up as well:
- Save 31% on Street Fighter X Tekken Fight Sticksfor PS3 Xbox 360
- Save 33% on Sonic the Hedgehog Limited Edition Individually Numbered Figure 2X Inductive Charger for Wii
- Get $10 off the Sonic the Hedgehog 2X Inductive Charger for Wii
- Save 30% on the Chimaera 5.1 Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox 360
No shirts today, but some other cool stuff… (more…)
Daily Scoop: July 27, 2012 – Hellooooooooooo Friday!
So there are no new deals going on, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for you to buy! Amazon is still having all those deals I mentioned Monday, as well as that sale on Wii products, and the other sale on PlayStation 3 games. There’s also that ludicrous sale still going on at Best Buy. Scoop ’em up! All the games.
And, of course, there are shirts to be bought: (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 26, 2012 – Feeling hot, hot, hot
Another day, another ludicrous temperature spike! I hate hearing words like “heat index” and “will feel like 105 degrees” and “is it hot enough for you?” Yes. It’s been hot enough for me since May, thanks very much. And to think, it’s not even August yet…
Anyway, what’s going on today on the wide world of the Internet? Well, there are some discounted PlayStation 3 games over at Amazon, marked down to $19.99. Included are some must-haves, like The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Heavy Rain: Director’s Cut, and Killzone 2. Also listed is a WarHawk Bundle with Bluetooth Headset. A PS3 bluetooth headset for $19.99? That’s worth it alone. Scoop ’em up!
I’ve also got two shirts and some other cool stuff for you after the jump! (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 25, 2012 – Happy humpday!
I know, I know, I spend way too many Wednesdays talking about how happy I am that it’s the middle of the week. But be truthful: you’re happy the week’s almost halfway done, too! Don’t deny it. It’s practically a cold, hard fact at this point!
Anyway, what deals are up today? Well, Amazon’s having a sale on Wii products, which includes Just Dance 3 and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 for $9.99.
Too bad Kirby’s Epic Yarn is $24.96 because I would be all over that for less than $10.
I’ve got a few shirts for you, though one has nothing to do with video games… (more…)

Daily Scoop: July 23, 2012 – Sick of being sick
I’m home sick and feeling utterly horrendous! So I’m laying in bed, hugging my laptop to me and wishing I didn’t have to move ever. Unfortunately, I need to feed myself at some point, and probably bathe. I did get out of bed to go around the corner and get bloodwork done, which was a lot less fun than it sounds (and it doesn’t really sound all that fun, does it?). But hey, at least this has given me a chance to see all the great deals that are out there today… and try not to spend money on them while I’m at it!
First up is the awesome sale going on over at Best Buy. It’s pretty ridiculous. You can get Infamous 2 for $9.99, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for $9.99, which John and I are getting, in that order. There are also a ton of accessories for super cheap, like a Sony brand Memory Stick Micro M2 – 4GB for $1.99, regular price $34.99. Either someone over at Best Buy has lost their mind, or this sale is freaking awesome. Perhaps both?
Amazon’s also got some new sales up this week, though they aren’t as great as Best Buy’s…
- Just Dance Greatest Hits on sale for $30 for Wii and Xbox 360
- Save 30% on Test Drive: Ferrari Legends for PS3 and Xbox 360
- Get 25% off Akai Katana for Xbox 360
- Get $35 off Ear Force DPX21 Headset and 5.1/7.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound when you buy NCAA
- Save 30% on Plantronics Gamecom P90
- Two Thrustmaster deals: save $65 on Thrustmaster T500RS Racing Wheel (making it just $534.99!) and save $12 on Thrustmaster Ferarri Wireless F430 Gamepad
That’s all for deals… unless those aren’t good enough for you, in which case, go stick your head back in the Steam sale.
And now: t-shirt time! Two great Mario-themed shirts for you today: (more…)
