Telltale reveals Walking Dead: Season 2 and promises Episode 1 will be out soon
Just in time for Halloween, Talltale Games has uploaded the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 2. Do you love mobile game smash hit Angry Birds? Do you love kart racing games? If so, then have we got good news for you! Rovio has announced Angry Birds Go!, a kart-racing game that stars – you guessed it – the Angry Birds! Because if there’s one thing this world needs, it’s more Angry Birds games.

Kickstart This! The Opulent October Edition

October, the month where towns and shops put up Christmas decorations before people have even celebrated Halloween, when you remember that you have a heating system that has lain dormant all summer. And also the celebration of when I crawled out of the womb, a video game controller already in my hand (all birthday presents are welcome). But rather than spend your money on me, or hoarding it for a last minute Christmas Eve rush, instead why not channel the spirit of Tam o’ Shanter and dance with a strange devil in the midnight oil. And by this I mean give a nice game developer a Kickstarter donation.
There are five projects shaking their Starbuck-emblazoned begging cup at you, starting with the video game version of an old homeless man, ColecoVision. There is also Japanese Action RPG Reborn, Zombie RTS Undead Overload, the Lovecraftian 2D adventure game Mark of the Old Ones, and last but not least, the beautiful and unique Knite and the Ghost Lights.
Let’s go. (more…)
NetherRealm will bring brawler based on Batman: Arkham Origins to mobile devices
After creating successful mobile renditions of Batman: Arkham City Lockdown and Injustice: Gods Among Us, NetherRealm Studios is returning with another iOS/Android brawler this month based on Batman: Arkham Origins.
Like the mobile version of Injustice, Batman: Arkham Origins will be a free-to-play brawler that uses visuals from the console version. Once again, players will tap on the screen to rain blows down upon some nameless henchman or one of the game’s eight assassin opponents. A row of special attack icons line the bottom of the screen, which should also look familiar to those who downloaded Injustice’s mobile adaptation.
Instead of unlocking additional DC Comics characters, players will be able to clothe the Caped Crusader in a series of new suits with different powers and abilities. Confirmed suits include costumes previously seen in storylines like “Red Son,” “Earth Two,” “Thrillkiller,” “The Liberty Files,” and “Batman Beyond.” Linking your Warner Bros. Interactive ID with the game will unlock some of these suits in the console edition of Arkham Origins.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be available to download from the iOS App Store in conjunction with the console edition’s October 25 release. The Android edition will be available sometime “this Holiday.”

Square Enix will release Dragon Quest 1-8 on mobile devices in Japan

In news that seems like it should have happened years ago, Square Enix has announced (translated by Touch Arcade) that they plan to re-release all eight Dragon Quest titles in Japan for iOS and Android devices. A ninth game, Dragon Quest Monsters, is also in the works for mobile devices. As you may have guessed, at this time only a Japanese release has been confirmed. No word on whether or not the classics will hit shores outside of Japan, but here’s hoping. I loved the original Dragon Warrior, and to have it on the go?
Yes, please.
Interview: Traveling the Death Road to Canada with Rocketcat’s Kepa Auwae

In our most recent Kickstart This! feature, the Sweet September Edition, we highlighted Rocketcat Games’ Death Road to Canada, a top-down “randomized permadeth road trip simulator” that pits you against mobs of undead hoardes while trying to survive the apocalypse. The game proved to be popular among Kickstarter backers, roaring across its $25,000 goal line and currently sitting at more than $40,000. With a few hours to go, we spoke with Kepa Auwae, the game’s Lead Designer, to discuss zombies, gaming inspirations, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. (more…)

ClamCase announces GameCase, the first iOS 7-powered controller
Yesterday, Apple gave users their chance to download iOS 7, the latest update to the operating system behind the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. In addition to a variety of interface design changes, iOS 7 adds controller support to your iDevice. Today, ClamCase announced the first controller attachment for iPhones and iPads… the GameCase.
Exploring the add-on’s official website gives you a pretty good idea what the GameCase is capable of. It appears to be a dock that your iPhone or iPad (no iPod Touch support at this time) sits in. The controller inputs (which are laid out in a traditional console controller pattern of two analog sticks, a D-Pad, four face buttons, and four shoulder buttons) interact with the iPhone/iPad using iOS 7’s MFi wireless controller standard. As the GameCase is considered a “wraparound” controller, it also allows players to use the gyroscope/accelerometer for motion controls and the touchscreen for, well, touching.
No release date or price for the GameCase were revealed, but it’s sure to be the first of many iOS 7-powered controllers announced in the coming weeks.
