Dead Space 3 demo coming January 22; Xbox 360 owners can get it a week early
Dead Space 3 will be available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on February 5. But if you want to give the first co-op entry in the series a tryout before you buy it, you’ll be happy to know that EA is adding a demo to the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on January 22. And if you own an Xbox 360, you can download it a week early (on January 15) by signing up for early access to the demo at demo.DeadSpace.com.
In the demo, players will be thrust into deep space terror when unwilling hero – Isaac Clarke – and all-new co-op companion – Sergeant John Carver – crash land on Tau Volantis, an unforgiving ice planet teeming with Necromorphs.
If you need a refreshed course on the entire Dead Space saga, be sure to check out the “Story So Far” trailer that EA released yesterday.

God Mode coming to PC, PSN, XBLA in 2013
Atlus has announced they’ll be publishing God Mode, a downloadable shooter from Old School Games and Saber Interactive in early 2013. God Mode is in development for the PC, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade and promises to be “an exciting third-person shooter that looks like a retail product […] with gameplay features and cooperative play like no other downloadable title.”
God Mode is a shooter that places players in the boots of a former god who has been banished from Mount Olympus along with the rest of his family. The former god must battle through the Maze of Hades to return to the Pantheon and reclaim their rightful place alongside the other gods.
God Mode will carry a budget price of $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) and include a four-player multiplayer (local LAN and online), fully customizable gods, a Rage meter, and in-game modifiers known as Tests of Faith.
I assume your might will be tested as well.
Kickstart This! Jingle Bells Edition

As John Lennon sang, “So this is Christmas, and what have you done?” It is the time of giving and the season to be charitable, and what better present to give than to donate to a worthy gaming project? However, for all you grinches out there, never fear! Not one of our games is Christmas-themed, so you still have a dazzling array of genres to choose from. There are deadly floppy-eared pets in Super Bunny Insurrection, the Myst-esque atmospheric exploration game Dream, and music creation using galaxies in DJ Space. Then we’ve got an attempt to build a legendary arcade emporium in Scotland with the Epic Arcade Project, and, last but not least, the Gobstopper of games, GameTron 1000.
Remember though, a game is for life, not just for Christmas. (more…)

Either way, a winner is you!
Star Trek game beams into stores on April 23
A few months before Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the crew of the Enterprise, we’ll all get a chance to control Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in Namco Bandai’s Star Trek for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Today, the publisher has confirmed that the game will be available in stores on April 23, 2013.
They’ve also announced that players who pre-order Star Trek will obtain the “Elite Officer Pack,” a downloadable bonus that includes ten costumes from the first movie as well as three additional weapons (Starfleet Type IV Stealth Sniper Rifle, U.S.S. Kelvin Hand Phaser, and Academy Phaser). The costumes will include “Stealth” uniforms, Kirk in a leather jacket, U.S.S. Kelvin uniforms, Academy uniforms, and Kobayashi Maru uniforms.
One of those is not like the others.
Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt launches on January 15
Gearbox and 2K Games have announced that the next Borderlands 2 expansion, “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt,” will be available to download for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on January 15, 2013.
What starts off as a relaxing hunting expedition with Sir Hammerlock soon takes a sinister turn as our Vault Hunters stumble across a new villain intent on restoring the legacy of Handsome Jack.
As expected, the add-on has been priced at $10 (or 800 Microsoft Points), but it’ll be a free download for owners of the Borderlands 2 Season Pass. And remember, Gearbox will also release a fourth expansion to Borderlands 2 (and the likely inevitable “Game of the Year compilation”) sometime in 2013.
