2K announces add-on content and Season Pass for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
Hey! Guess what! 2K Games, Gearbox, and 2K Australia will follow the release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with four add-on content packs. And… and… you’ll be able to pre-purchase a Season Pass to get a 25% discount on all four DLC packs.
Announced over the week at the PAX Prime convention, the four content packs will add “new characters, challenges, missions, and experiences” to the Pre-Sequel. Obviously, the make-up of each pack has yet to be formalized, but we do know that they’ll be priced at $9.99 apiece while the Season Pass has been set at $29.99.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (and the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass) will be available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on October 14.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released for consoles, PC in early 2015
Before we get the much-rumored Resident Evil 7, it looks like Capcom wants to shamble out another spinoff in the Resident Evil franchise with the announcement that Resident Evil Revelations 2 is in development. Revelations 2 is ditching its handheld roots and will be available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in early 2015.
Pesky details like the plot and what the game actually looks like will be announced at a later date. For now, check out the live-action teaser trailer (and it’s very scary watches) above. Capcom has promised that “hidden secrets beckon to be discovered by anyone with eyes and wits sharp enough to find them.” But that sounds like a lot of work for Labor Day…
Volition announces Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and Saints Row IV PS4/Xbox One port
The Third Street Saints are going to Hell. Today, Volition announced Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell during the close of their PAX Prime panel. The standalone expansion will be released for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on January 27, 2015… and yes, you will be able to shoot The Devil in the face:
Play as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington as you tear apart Hell in a quest to save the leader of the Saints’ soul. Historical icons, old friends, older enemies, a talking gun, a full length musical number, and a whole lot of other shenanigans all await you in the open world standalone expansion playground that is Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell.
But wait, there’s more. Gat Out of Hell isn’t the only Saints Row game that will make its debut on next-gen consoles this January. Volition also announced that Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, a PS4 and Xbox One port of Saints Row IV that also includes Gat Out of Hell.
If you’re attending PAX Prime this weekend, be sure to stop by the Deep Silver booth to play both Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and Saints Row IV: Re-Elected.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review: Look Out!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is one of 2014’s biggest movies, and with any summer blockbuster movie comes the inevitable video game based on said blockbuster movie. And as any self-respecting gamer should know, movie-based games are not of the highest quality. In fact, a majority of the time they just plain suck. Such was not the case in 2012, when the first Amazing Spider-Man game was released to positive reviews. Now that the sequel is out, gamers everywhere hoped that the Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be of the same quality as the first game. While it is an OK game, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 doesn’t quite do everything a spider can. (more…)

Deep Silver bringing Escape Dead Island, Dead Island 2, Metro, a few surprises to PAX 2014

Deep Silver has more than one surprise planned for this weekend’s PAX Prime convention. Besides the previously announced unveiling of Volition’s next project, the publisher will offer the following playable demos at its booth in the South Hall:
- Dead Island 2: Experience the first hands-on in the United States for the upcoming AAA zombie blockbuster from Yager Development.
- Escape Dead Island: The world’s first consumer hands-on for the third person survival mystery spin-off, set in the Dead Island universe.
- Metro Redux: Play Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light together with all DLC now on new-gen consoles running at a seamless 60 frames per second.
Deep Silver also plans to showcase at least one secret title at their booth. So it seems likely that if you miss the Volition panel on Friday morning you’ll still get a chance to get a good look at their next game. And who knows, perhaps Deep Silver has a few other surprises up their sleeve…
