Ni No Kuni, The Cave, Just Dance 4, Dust 514, Disgaea 2, more added to PS Store

It’s another big week for Sony’s PlayStation Store this week.
This week’s big new release is Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Level-5’s collaboration with Studio Ghibli that has locked JRPG aficionados into a frenzy. And speaking of collaborations, adventure game The Cave marks the first team-up of Ron Gilbert and Double Fine Productions.
What else, what else… Today is the first day of the Dust 514 open beta and the PS2 Classic Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories has been added to the store to go with last week’s addition of the first game. Finally, Ubisoft has added a download version of Just Dance 4 to the PlayStation Store.
Hit the jump for more information on this week’s new releases (including Ninja Gaiden Sigma and a new PSP game) and check out the PlayStation Blog for an overview of this week’s new game add-ons. (more…)

XSEED registers Killer Is Dead domain

Have you checked out the first Japanese trailer for Killer Is Dead yet? Suda 51’s next game won’t disappoint his hardcore fans as it looks as ridiculously cracked as all of his previous efforts. And now we know which publisher plans to bring it to America.
XSEED Games has purchased the URL killerisdead-game.com, and while it isn’t confirmation that they’ve chosen to publish the game, it is a pretty big hint.
Killer Is Dead will be released this Summer in Japan. XSEED will presumably announce a US release date (and their official involvement as the game’s publisher) soon.

Resident Evil Revelations makes the jump to consoles and PC in May 2013

Capcom has announced plans to resurrect Resident Evil Revelations on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U this May. The game, which was originally released for a the 3DS a year ago, will be available as a disc-based release on the Xbox 360 and Wii U and as a digital download on the PC and PS3 on May 21. A downloadable version will be added to the Xbox Live Marketpace and Wii U eShop at a later date.
The console/PC version of Revelations will feature plenty of enhancements and additions over the 3DS version including high definition graphics as well as “enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience.” Additional content is also being prepared for the May release including “a terrifying new enemy,” an extra difficulty mode, and improvements to Raid Mode (along with the ability to play as Hunk).
Resident Evil Revelations has been priced at $49.99 and a special pre-order program will begin at ResidentEvil.net on January 24.
Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk coming to US on March 5
The latest in the Atelier series, Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk, is coming to the United States exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on March 5. Tecmo Koei America is bringing Ayesha Altugle’s story to our shores. Since her grandfather died and her younger sister disappeared, Ayesha has locked herself away in her workshop, selling medicine to survive. When she finds out her younger sister is still alive, she goes out searching for her.
The game features a new Diary System, which will give Ayesha access to bonus stats, as well as more items and recipes. In addition, missions are no longer timed, but instead are connected, helping to determine Ayesha’s success in finding her sister.

Classic White PS3 bundle includes a year of PlayStation Plus
Sony has announced a white PlayStation 3 Slim, coming to the United States on January 27. This 500GB machine will cost $299.99, and will include a one-year subscription to PlayStation Plus, which means 18 instant games – well, that is, if you’ve got a Vita. If not, it’s a measly 12 free games. And there’s even more good news: if you’re already a Plus member, the year subscription extends the one you’ve already got. For more information, check out the PlayStation Blog.
If No More and Heroes and Killer 7 had a baby it would be Killer Is Dead
The latest from Suda 51 starts off sexy and ends with a lot of gore, which is no surprise. Killer Is Dead is a story about love and execution, if we’re to believe this over-the-top trailer narrated by the main character, executioner Mondo Zappa. Be sure to stick around until the end of the video to find out more about Zappa.

PS Store’s “13 For ’13” sale begins tomorrow
Sony is starting off 2013 with a bang by having a big digital sale right off the bat. Tomorrow starts their “13 for ’13” sale, which includes a lot of games I haven’t felt like paying full price for. The games will be 50% off for regular PSN users, and 75% off for PS Plus users.

New Releases: Ni No Kuni, The Sims 3: 70s 80s 90s Stuff

Two new games will be released in stores this week, but I have a feeling that one will be much more popular than the other.
This week’s biggest new release is definitely Level-5’s Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Level-5 is on quite the roll lately (after the success of the “Guild01” releases on the 3DS eShop) and their collaboration with Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli has had gamers in a frenzy for a long time. We’ll finally get to see what all the fuss is about soon.
Also available this week is the latest Sims 3 “Stuff Pack,” The Sims 3: 70s, 80s, and 90s Stuff. I predict a lot of bell bottoms, spandex, and flannel.
