The Penguin reveals himself in new Batman: Arkham City trailer

Rocksteady and WB games have decided to throw us a new morsel of intrigue with this new Batman: Arkham City trailer featuring none other than The Penguin himself.

I wonder who inspired the character design: Dick Cheney or Danny Devito?

Stana Katic is the voice of Talia al Ghul in Batman: Arkham City

Stana Katic (from Castle) has officially been added to the all-star voice cast of Batman: Arkham City. It will be her voice mixing words with Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy when the game is released on October 18.

“Talia is such a complex character and it was great to voice her in Batman: Arkham City,” said Katic. “I was amazed at all the detail put into the project and it’s great to see how excited the fans are about the game.”

And we definitely are excited. Arkham City will be five times larger than Batman: Arkham Asylum, and feature tons of new characters from the Batman Universe… including more than a few villains.

Hungry for more brains? Here’s a new House of the Dead: Overkill – Extended Cut trailer

Not only does House of the Dead: Overkill – Extended Cut have a hoard of subtitles, it also has more zombies than you can pistol whip. This HD remake, out October 25, features even more of your favorite zombie-dismembering operatives, Agent G and smart-mouthed Detective Washington. They’re back in two additional levels, so Washington definitely has some unfinished swearing to do.

Sega has plenty of other new features planned including an exclusive crossbow weapon, a new “baby mutant” enemy type, a Hardcore Mode (mutants can only be killed with headshots) and improved boss fights in all levels.

Who smells zombie brains? I do!

L.A. Noire could have been even bigger

Team Bondi co-founder Brendan McNamara told the relaunched PSM3 that they had to nix the Bunko and Burglary desk from L.A. Noire because it wouldn’t all fit onto one Blu-ray.

“We had a Bunko and Burglary desk – bunko is fraud and burglary is just people robbing houses and stuff – we had eleven full cases for that, which we wrote and did the design for to a certain extent – we even did the art for them too, but it just got to a point where we were never going to fit it on one Blu-ray,” McNamara said.

Evidently there was also a mechanic planned where if you failed a case, you would be chewed out by your boss and demoted to doing smaller cases out in the world until you were called back to the main story missions.

“It just becomes super prohibitive at that point. I think there might have been a better arc if we did do that – you get more of a chance to introduce different things – but in terms of the overall experience I think we did pretty well.”

Soul Calibur V wants your name in the game

A tale of souls and swords… and you! Well, at least a name of your choosing. Namco Bandai Games America is holding a promotion that lets fans name a non-player character in Soul Calibur V, the next iteration in the weapons-based fighting series.

All you have to do is go to soularchive.jp/npc_recruitin, fill out a character name and fighting style, and answer a few questions related to Soul Calibur. Some of the questions include your favorite tactics, whether or not you prefer online play, and they even ask if you think the game’s director, Daishi Odashima, is annoying. So if you’ve ever wanted to fight a character named “FUZZYDEATHBUNNY” who wields a snake sword, you have until 11 PM on August 5, 2011 to make that dream a reality.

Gotham City Impostors invade Comic-Con in new trailer

Gotham City Impostors has taken many people by surprise. Evidently, Monolith and WB Games have taken Team Fortress 2 and tarted it up with a Batsuit, utility belt, and a dash of Loony Toons. I think until more is known about this upcoming downloadable first person shooter, we are just going to have to be left scratching our heads. But at the very least, we can headbang to the new trailer.

Gotham City Impostors will be available in Winter 2012 for $14.99 (or 1200 Microsoft Points).

New tracks, 4-player support for Just Dance 3

You now can have the choice to humiliate yourself at a party along with three of your friends: Ubisoft has announced 4-player support for Just Dance 3 at Comic-Con. Just Dance 3 is out on October 11 for the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, so you might want to start limbering up now.

Along with the new mode that allows four simultaneous players to “jump in and jump out” of gameplay, Just Dance 3 will now allow you to record your own choreography to share online. Challenge your friends to match your own herky-jerky movements and join you on the Facebook tag wall of shame.

In addition to all of this, there are some new tracks to shake yo’ booty to:

  • The Sugarhill Gang – “Apache (Jump On It)” (You all know the dance and don’t want to admit it)
  • The Girly Team – “Baby One More Time” (The Britney Spears song?)
  • Cee Lo Green – “Forget You” (Doesn’t this have another name?)
  • Madness – “Night Boat to Cairo” (Walking like an Egyptian is optional)
  • Tommy Sparks – “She’s Got Me Dancing” (I would hope so… I mean, it is in the game title)
  • The Buggles – “Video Killed The Radio Star” (Hopefully not choreography featured in GTA: Vice City)

I don’t need a game to teach me how to dance. I can do the Macarena all by myself, thank you.
