Injustice 2 Story Trailer introduces Brainiac, Darkseid, Robin, Poison Ivy, and Bane
The reign of Superman’s Regime is over, but a villainous presence is still lurking in the shadows of the Injustice universe, as WB Games and NetherRealm Studios released a brand new Story Trailer for Injustice 2:
Injustice 2 is NetherRealm Studios’ super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us that allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Featuring a massive selection of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Injustice 2 continues the epic cinematic story introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk.
In addition to appearances by Batman, Superman, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman, the trailer also includes a glimpse at new fighters Bane, Poison Ivy, Brainiac, Damian Wayne’s Robin, and Darkseid (who’ll be available as a pre-order bonus). And while we didn’t get a look at any of them in action, NetherRealm has promised to reveal gameplay from a “new character” on their Twitch channel on Tuesday, January 24.
Finally, NetherRealm announced that Injustice 2 will be available in a trio of different editions. The Standard Edition ($59.99) will include the 30 characters available as part of the main game, along with Darkseid, for those who purchase Injustice 2 early. But players looking to expand their game will be able to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition (Price TBA), which includes access to three post-launch DLC characters, or the Ultimate Edition (Price TBA), which will add nine DLC characters to the game.
Injustice 2 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.

Jason can teleport in the latest Friday the 13th: The Game gameplay trailer
Believe it or not, Jason Voorhees wasn’t always a supernatural killing machine. Before Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, he was just a hulking woodsman who may or may not have witnessed a teenager decapitate his mom. But the sixth movie resurrected the slasher icon as the unkillable zombie we all remember, while also granting him mysterious teleporting powers in the process.
The movies never bothered to explain Jason’s inexplicable ability to be in two places at once, but Gun Media and Illfonic have decided to employ the trick in the upcoming Friday the 13th: The Game.
In a new gameplay trailer that was released… when else… on Friday the 13th, Jason “morphs” through the forest to better stalk the camp counselors at his beloved Camp Crystal Lake. The video also includes a glimpse at Jason’s Part VI-inspired character skin and The Misfits’ “Friday the 13th,” which will be included on the game’s soundtrack.
Friday the 13th: The Game will be released in Early 2017 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The 4v1 multiplayer slasher sim will also expand this Summer with the launch of a free single-player expansion.

New Retail Releases: Gravity Rush 2, Dragon Quest VIII, Fate Extella The Umbral Star

Nintendo told us all about the Switch earlier this week, but now it’s time to talk about the first major new releases of 2017.
Starting things off is Gravity Rush 2, Sony Japan Studio’s PS4 sequel to their gravity-defying action game. This time around, Kat is once again protecting Hekseville from another invading army.
Also available this week is Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for the 3DS. Originally released for the PS2 in 2005, Dragon Quest VIII is one of the largest games in the role-playing franchise and players will finally get the chance to take it on the go.
Finally this week, XSEED will release Fate Extella: The Umbral Star for the PS4 and Vita. Promising a massive crossover between characters found in several Fate continuities, Fate Extella: The Umbral Star is also the first action game in the franchise.
We’ll be back later this week with a look at even more new releases that’ll soon be available through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, and Nintendo eShop.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is coming to the Nintendo Switch (and the PS4) this Spring
You’d probably never guess it from the title, but Puyo Puyo Tetris mashes up Puyo Puyo and Tetris to create the ultimate multiplayer puzzle competition. And fans of both franchises will be happy to know that Sega is bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch and the PS4 this Spring.
Puyo Puyo Tetris offers more than a dozen game modes, so players will always have plenty of options when they pick up a controller:
Adventure – Single-player mode offers ten unique acts, each with ten stages featuring different characters from the Puyo Puyo and Tetris universes. Each stage contains unique challenges players will need to overcome in order to win and move on!
Multiplayer Arcade – For up to four local players, Multiplayer Arcade offers a wealth of game variants that will bring out players’ competitive nature!
- Versus – Players compete head-to-head in either Puyo Puyo or Tetris to fight in the puzzle fight of their life.
- Swap – Players’ abilities are put to the ultimate test when they compete on both Puyo Puyo and Tetris boards, which switch back and forth at set intervals.
- Fusion – A true hybrid game where players compete with Puyos and Tetriminos together on the same board, requiring deft, on-the-fly thinking to become victorious.
- Big Bang – It’s a race to the finish as players compete against each other to clear unique challenge boards as quickly as possible to win.
- Party – Players compete on Puyo or Tetris boards, but the puzzles feature special items that when activated either help players or harm their opponents.
Online – Players can try their puzzle skills on a global scale by playing any of the multiplayer modes with up to four players online in Puzzle League or Free Play modes
- Puzzle League – Increase player rating, earn ranks and aspire to new leagues in this mode for competitive enthusiasts.
- Free Play – A more casual experience where records aren’t kept and players can customize matches with unique settings, and invite their friends to play.
- Replays – Players can save and upload any online matches to show off to their friends, or search other players’ replays using the tag and filtering system to see how they tackle matches.
Solo Arcade – Play any of the Multiplayer Arcade modes against the CPU in Battle or Endurance matches, or try single-player challenges:
- Battle – Substitute human players with 1-3 CPU opponents to fight against simultaneously.
- Endurance – Go the distance in a one-on-one gauntlet of never-ending CPU opponents, racking up as many wins as possible.
- Challenge – Forget about the opponents and put skills to the test with Sprint, Marathon and more, like the quirky Tiny Puyo, which shrinks down Puyos to fit even more on the board.
The Switch version of Puyo Puyo Tetris will be available both through the Nintendo eShop and as a very limited retail edition this Spring. However, the game’s PS4 launch will skip the PlayStation Store and only be available as a physical disc.

Lego City Undercover’s re-release on the Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One gets a new trailer
Lego City Undercover, the Lego-ized homage to Grand Theft Auto, and cop movie classics like Dirty Harry and Lethal Weapon was originally released for the Wii U in 2013, and has remained exclusive to Nintendo’s console ever since. But the rest of the gaming world will soon get to see what all the fuss is about because WB Games will re-release it for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this Spring.
Today, the publisher unveiled the first trailer for the game’s 2017 reappearance, and it features all the goofy humor and family-friendly action you expect from the Lego series:
Lego City Undercover introduces Chase McCain, a police officer who goes undercover and dons multiple disguises to hunt down the notorious – and recently escaped – criminal, Rex Fury, to put an end to his city-wide crime wave.
This open-world Lego adventure allows fans and newcomers to explore the sprawling metropolis that is Lego City, with more than 20 unique districts to investigate, filled with car thieves to bust, vehicles to navigate, mischievous aliens to capture, hilarious movie references to discover, lost pigs to rescue and of course, hundreds of collectibles. Bringing together witty, original storytelling with signature Lego humor, this open-world Lego adventure creates a fun-filled experience for players of all ages.
Lego City Undercover is in development at TT Games, and we’ll probably hear more about it during tonight’s Nintendo Switch Presentation.
