Redout will bring futuristic racing to the Switch this Spring
Publisher Nicalis and developer 34BigThings have announced plans to bring futuristic racer Redout to the Nintendo Switch this Spring. A very shiny debut trailer for the game has been embedded above.
Redout is set in the year 2560, after the construction of elaborate magnetic race tracks has transformed the barren wasteland of Earth into the epicenter of the galaxy’s most popular sport. Redout’s next-gen visual effects and highly optimized environments give players a mainline dose of sensory overload without sacrificing ultra-high-speed rendering and long draw distances.
Fans of futuristic racing games from the late ’90s will love the dynamic vehicle designs and evocative course environments. The architecture and terrain are based on fantastic visions—imagined 500+ years hence—of real-world locations like Cairo, Alaska and the gorgeous Italian region of Abruzzo.
Redout was built using Unreal Engine 4, and Lead Game Designer Giuseppe Franchi is very proud of how fast 34BigThings has been able to make Redout: “You’re gonna leave this game with your eyes dry, because you can’t blink.”

Sonic Mania is also coming to the Nintendo Switch this Spring
We first heard about Sega’s Project Sonic last year, but a second game starring Sonic the Hedgehog will also make it to the Nintendo Switch in 2017. Announced late last night during Nintendo’s Switch Presentation, Sega will also bring Sonic Mania to the Switch this Spring.
Developed by Christian “Taxman” Whitehead and Simon “Headcannon” Thomley, Sonic Mania is a 2D side-scrolling Sonic game that pays homage to the franchise’s past with re-imagined levels, while also adding new Zones and a new Drop Dash special move.

Ubisoft will release Just Dance 2017, Steep, Rayman Legends for Switch on March 3

Ubisoft has always been a big supporter of Nintendo consoles, and the publisher has big plans for the launch of the Switch.
Just Dance 2017, Steep, and Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition will all be available for the Switch on March 3, with more titles to be announced at a later date:
Just Dance 2017
Just Dance 2017 will be the first Ubisoft game released for Nintendo Switch at launch. The chart-topping dance track, “How Deep Is Your Love” by Calvin Harris & Disciples, will be available as an exclusive track for Nintendo Switch owners via Just Dance Unlimited. This hit song joins 40 tracks already available in the game, including “Sorry” by Justin Bieber, “Lean On” by Major Lazer (Featuring MØ & DJ Snake), brand-new hits like “Don’t Wanna Know” by Maroon 5, party favorites like “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” by Beyonce and classics like “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Nintendo Switch players will also have three months of free access to Just Dance Unlimited, the dance-on-demand subscription streaming service, which offers more than 200 additional songs and access to exclusive tracks, with new hit songs added all the time.More accessible than ever, Just Dance 2017 can now be played anywhere, with up to six players at the same time using a Joy-Con controller or by using the Just Dance Controller app (which turns your smartphone into a controller).
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition
Players’ all-time favorite, Rayman, is back in the game thanks to Rayman Legends Definitive Edition, the ultimate version of the critically acclaimed Rayman Legends created by Michel Ancel. This edition includes all the game’s traditional features, such as Kung Foot, plus some brand-new surprises. Nintendo’s history has included the Rayman brand since the franchise’s beginning, with titles such as Rayman Advance for Game Boy Advance, Rayman 2: The Great Escape for Nintendo 64 and Rayman Raving Rabbids for the launch of Wii.Rayman, Globox and the Teensies are off wandering through an enchanted forest when they discover a mysterious tent filled with a series of captivating paintings. As they look more closely, they notice each painting seems to tell the story of a different mythical world. While focusing on a painting that shows a medieval land, they are suddenly sucked into the painting, entering the world, and the adventure begins. The gang must run, jump and fight their way through each world to save the day and discover the secrets of every legendary painting.
Steep
In Steep, players drop in to the Alps and ski, snowboard, wingsuit and paraglide through the game’s massive open world playground, filled with exhilarating activities and breathtaking views. Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, Steep is designed for a culture that’s all about sharing experiences with the world. Steep features seamless multiplayer, populating the world with players as they naturally explore the Alps. Players and friends across the globe can take on challenges together or compete with each other to snag the top spot on the leaderboard. The open world of Steep will be further enriched by the majestic slopes of Alaska in a free update available this year.
This is great news for fans who plan to purchase a Switch at launch, but I guess the Beyond Good & Evil 2 announcement will have to wait…

Nintendo Switch Presentation: Ultra Street Fighter II adds Evil Ryu and Violent Ken

The World Warriors will return to a Nintendo console in a big way with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. More than a mere re-release of the classic fighting game, Capcom will add two new characters to the game, along with giving players a choice between high definition remastered sprites created by UDON Entertainment and the original pixel-art graphics.
The Capcom-Unity blog has more details about the two new characters, Evil Ryu and Violent Ken:
For the first time in nearly 20 years, since Super Street Fighter II, two new characters join the fight; Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. This version of Ryu has succumbed to the Satsui no Hado and is now obsessed with fighting in order to prove he is the strongest. His former honorable self has been purged, allowing him to enjoy absolute power and embrace an unquenchable bloodthirst for battle.
Violent Ken is the result of M. Bison kidnapping and brainwashing Ken, enhancing his abilities with Psycho Power and twisting his brotherly rivalry with Ryu into hatred. Violent Ken is more ruthless, aggressive, and fearless with moves that feature purple flames instead of his signature fire.
A release date wasn’t announced for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, but Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono will appear on Nintendo’s Treehouse Live later today with a live gameplay walkthrough.
