Nintendo Switch Presentation: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be available on April 28 with a real Battle Mode
The Switch’s “Sizzle Reel” constantly flashed back to a kart racer that bared a strong resemblance to Mario Kart 8. However, none of the executives would talk about it. But now that the Switch Presentation is over, we know that it’s actually Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and it’ll be available on April 28.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will include everything found in the original Mario Kart 8, as well as all the racers and courses from both downloadable expansions. However, it’ll also feature even more new courses and characters (Inklings from Splatoon and King Boo for sure), along with a more traditional Battle Mode.
A full trailer for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is embedded above.

Nintendo will release two versions of the Switch… one with the traditional gray JoyCon Controllers, and one with the Neon Red and Neon Blue detachable side controllers. Both will be priced the same: $299.99. But the Switch Pro controller will be sold separately.
With this setup, players will be able to play the Switch in three different ways… TV Mode with a Pro Controller, Tabletop Mode with the kickstand and detached JoyCon Controllers, and Handheld Mode with the JoyCon Controllers attached.
The console will hold a charge for 2.5 hours to 6.5 hours, depending on the game, and recharging is done through a USB Type-C cable. A capacitive (multitouch) touchscreen rounds out the package.
Finally, eight Switch consoles can be connected for local multiplayer.
