See the Opening Movie from Disgaea 5 Complete right here
If you’ve already purchased a Nintendo Switch and have been on the lookout for new games, then Disgaea 5 Complete might be worth checking out. To further entice you, NIS America has also unveiled a new trailer showcasing the game’s Opening Movie.
Disgaea 5 focuses on the demon protagonist, Killia, and his companions, on their mission to thwart the malicious plans of the new overlord Void Dark, who is trying to enslave the Netherworld.
The strategy RPG was originally released back in October 2015 for the PlayStation 4, under the name Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. So if you bought the game once before, then you might want to sit this new version out. However, Disgaea 5 Complete sets itself apart from its previous iteration by including all of the previously-released DLC including four fan-favorite characters, three character classes, and eight additional scenarios.
Disgaea 5 Complete will be released on the Nintendo Switch in both physical and digital formats on May 23 in North America and May 26 in Europe.

Splatoon 2 Global Testfire Impressions: This Pre-Release Test Proved Nintendo’s Shooter Franchise is Still “Fresh”

Even though it shipped to stores in a half-finished state, the near-instantaneous success of Splatoon guaranteed that a sequel would make an appearance sooner rather than later. But with Splatoon’s rise coinciding with the Wii U’s collapse, that sequel is now bound for a Summer 2017 launch on the Nintendo Switch. And the whole world got to test it out this weekend as part of the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire.
Does the franchise still feel “fresh” two years later? Oh yeah… (more…)

Further down this week’s retail list, we’ve got the GameStop-exclusive Has-Been Heroes, which will be released for the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. The roguelike action/strategy game was developed by Frozenbyte and features a bumbling band of knights protecting a pair of princesses.

Kickstart This! Pine

Those of you who were hoping for a game based around the life of Star Trek captain and Wonder Woman love interest Chris Pine are going to be sorely disappointed, and then pleasantly surprised, with Pine. This Kickstarter campaign launched just as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizons: Zero Dawn landed on shelves, reinvigorating the open world adventure genre, and leaving gamers ready to embark on another big quest. Pine limits its open world by setting it on an island, a smart design choice for an indie open world game, but more intriguingly, it asks the question, “What if man never made it to the top of the food chain?”

Meet the fighters from Arms in two new English-language trailers

Nearly six weeks ago, Nintendo Japan released two trailers for Arms that pitted the strengths and weaknesses of its fighters against each other, as well as offering a glimpse at the game’s fighting mechanics.
More recently, Nintendo of America translated those trailers into English, and we can finally understand what the tale of the tape says about Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, Master Mummy, and Mechanica. Once again, the second trailer focuses on Arms’s fighting mechanics and the different gloves each fighter can use.
You can find both trailers after the break, and Arms will be released exclusively for the Switch in Spring 2017. (more…)
