The Walking Dead: 400 Days gets a release schedule and a launch trailer
During this year’s E3 Expo, Telltale Games revealed that a new downloadable expansion bridging The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Season Two would be available this Summer. Little did we know that “this Summer” actually meant “early July.”
The Walking Dead: 400 Days will be available to download from the PlayStation Store for the PS3 today in North America. It will be followed by PC, Xbox 360, iOS, and Vita versions over the next week and into August:
- Tuesday, July 2 – PlayStation Store (North America)
- Wednesday, July 3 – PC/Mac (Steam, Telltale Games Store)
- Friday, July 5 – Xbox Live Arcade
- Wednesday, July 10 – PlayStation Store (Europe)
- Thursday, July 11 – iOS App Store
- August – PS Vita (The Walking Dead: Season One retail release)
Aside from the Vita version (which includes the entirety of Season One), 400 Days will be priced at $4.99/400 Microsoft Points on all platforms and will require a copy of The Walking Dead: Episode One. Also, be sure to check out the brand new launch trailer for The Walking Dead: 400 Days above.
TitanFall, Destiny, Watch Dogs lead all nominees in Best of E3 2013 awards
The 30 publications that form the Game Critics Awards judging panel have announced this year’s nominees for the Best of E3 2013. This year, Respawn’s TitanFall lead the way with six nominations. Bungie’s Destiny and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs were close behind with five nominations apiece.
All three games were selected to be part of the “Best in Show” alongside new hardware from Sony (the PlayStation 4) and Oculus VR (the Oculus Rift HD). That has to sting for Microsoft and the continued debacle that is their Xbox One announcement. Though the Xbox One did get a nod in the “Best Hardware” category. I have a feeling it’s not going to win.
A complete list of all the nominees can be found after the break. The winners will be announced on July 2. (more…)
PSN Today: Deadpool, Hotline Miami, Magic 2014, More

Two very different agents of chaos highlight today’s PlayStation Store update.
Deadpool, Marvel’s fourth wall-breaking assassin-for-hire, has been given the big budget PS3 game treatment by High Moon and Activision. Meanwhile, the pixelated 2D mayhem of Hotline Miami comes to the PS3 and Vita as a Cross-Buy title. A wide variety of other titles are available this week including:
- Magic 2014: Duels of the Planeswalkers (PS3), the latest adaptation of the collectible card game.
- Ride to Hell Retribution (PS3), an action game starring some angry bikers.
- Spartacus Legends (PS3), a free-to-play fighter based on the popular Starz show.
- Muramasa Rebirth (Vita), an action RPG originally released for the Wii that’s been rebuilt for Sony’s handheld.
More information on all of these games (and a few others) can be found after the break. And a full list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z announced
Are you ready for another Dragon Ball Z game? Well, good news! Namco Bandai plans to release Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Vita soon.
Are you a team player with the crazy skills and cool composure needed to triumph in massive cooperative battles? If this sounds like you, then Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z has just what you need, with revolutionary team battling for up to 4 players together in cooperative play against a host of fearsome opponents or in a giant 8-player battle royale. Found his weak point? Push your advantage and take him down together in a flurry of fur!
Namco Bandai didn’t announce how soon “soon” is, but I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will probably be available by the end of the year.

D&D: Chronicles of Mystara, Eat Lead, Jak and Daxter Collection, more added to PS Store

Welcome to another week of PlayStation Store updates. This week, Sony adds a classic arcade combo, a “reboot” of a “classic” arcade chracter, a reboot of an infamous 80s platformer, and a game where you control the weather. There’s also two new PS2 Classics and two PS3 games find their way to the Vita for the first time.
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara leads this week’s new releases, bringing together two 80s arcade games in all their HD glory. Speaking of 80s arcade heroes, the fictional Matt Hazard will also join the PlayStation Store this week in Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, a reboot of the infamous 80s platforming series, and Storm, a puzzle platformer where you control the wind, round out this week’s new releases for the PS3.
Over on the Vita side of things, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and the Jak and Daxter Collection are now available for the handheld.
More information on all of these games can be found after the break and a full list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

New Releases: Jak and Daxter Collection, MotoGP 13, Knights of Pen & Paper, More
It’s another slow June week as we move ever closer to the Fall gaming rush and the release of the (now fully revealed) next generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft. But if you’re looking for something new to play this week, your options are:
- Jak and Daxter Collection (Vita), a compilation of the first three games.
- MotoGP 13 (PC), the latest game in the popular motorcycle racing series.
- Knight of Pen & Paper: +1 Edition (PC), a retro-styled RPG with some Dungeons & Dragons flavor.
- Magrunner: Dark Pulse (PC), an action puzzle game about scientists battling Cthulhu.
- Pro Cycling Manager 2013 (PC), the latest addition to the popular (especially in Europe) sports simulation series.
Not bad, but next week’s new release slate will be much more expansive (especially with the release of the Ouya micro-console).

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is five tales of survival that set up Season Two

Only someone with a heart of stone would say that Telltale’s The Walking Dead didn’t move them. That movement may have been something as simple as running from the horde of zombies at the game’s center or it might be something deeper. A second season of episodes, appropriately titled The Walking Dead: Season Two, is in the works for this Fall. But first, the developer wants to give players one last taste of Season One.
Known as The Walking Dead: 400 Days, the new episode will tell five tales of survival. Bonnie, Russell, Shel, Vince, and Wyatt will all come face-to-face with the undead and (hopefully) live to tell about it:
Centered on a truck stop on a Georgia highway, The Walking Dead: 400 Days is a DLC episode for Season One of Telltale’s award-winning game series. 400 Days tells five linked stories; each taking place at different points in time and from the point of view of a different survivor, from day one of the undead apocalypse to day 400.
The five stories can be played in any order and will change based on the choices that you make. Echoes of the choices you made in Season 1 will carry over into 400 Days and the choices you make in 400 Days will resonate into Season 2.
The Walking Dead: 400 Days will be available this Summer for the PC, PS3, Vita, Xbox 360, and mobile platforms. You can view the first trailer after the break. (more…)
