Techland delays Hellraid’s retail rising until 2014

It looks like gamers won’t be going to Hell in 2013. Techland has announced that Hellraid, their upcoming “competitive co-op” game, has been pushed back into 2014. The PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 game originally staked out a Fall 2013 release date but, according to Techland’s Marcin Kruczkiewicz, the team needs more time to make the kind of game they want to.
Here’s what Kruczkiewicz had to say on the Hellraid development blog: “If we released our game this year we would have to make too many compromises and the final product probably wouldn’t meet all our promises and your expectations. That’s why we’ve made a tough decision to release Hellraid in 2014 or to be more precise: when it’s done.”
Kruczkiewicz specifically cited several additions and tweaks the team would like to make to Hellraid. These additions and tweaks include a reworked magic system and “completely new game modes for single player and co-op.”
Telltale reveals Walking Dead: Season 2 and promises Episode 1 will be out soon
Just in time for Halloween, Talltale Games has uploaded the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 2. The first episode of the season will debut for the PS3, Steam (PC/Mac), and Xbox 360 later this year with iOS and Vita editions also in the works. Four additional episodes will be released throughout 2014.
In Season 2, players will control Clementine as she makes her way through the zombified remains of the world:
The Walking Dead: Season 2 will continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned at the outset of the undead apocalypse, now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive in a world gone mad. Now assuming the role of an ordinary child, players will struggle to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions.
Each episode of The Walking Dead: Season 2 will be priced at $4.99 apiece. PC players can pre-order all five episodes now for $22.49, a 10% discount.
Halo: Spartan Assault is bound for Xbox 360, Xbox One in December

Tell me if this makes sense…
You’re a massive publishing company and you own one of the biggest and most-beloved brands in all of gaming. You want to create a spinoff game, a twin-stick shooter, for your popular franchise. You have multiple platforms both available and in development that it could be released for. So what do you do? You release it on the one that doesn’t support twin-stick controllers.
Sounds crazy, right? Yet, that’s exactly how Microsoft has handled Halo: Spartan Assault. The top-down shooter was released for Windows 8 tablets and smartphones back in July and didn’t include controller support. It was later patched in, but why not release a game like that on the Xbox 360 or the upcoming Xbox One?
Thankfully, Microsoft has come to their senses and plans to bring Halo: Spartan Assault to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One in December. The console version will include everything found in the tablet/smartphone version as well as the “Operation Hydra” expansion and an exclusive online co-op mode.
Sadly, online play between the two consoles will not be supported.

Battle aliens in Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction co-op mode
Treyarch may have the market cornered on zombies, but Infinity Ward is bringing something new to the Call of Duty franchise with Ghosts: aliens.
The recently revealed “Extinction” mode is a co-op mode for one-to-four players “featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival action, FPS base defense, scavenging, and class leveling.” Players will battle with horrible shock troopers known as Scorpions and attempt to breach an alien hive with a mini-nuke. It looks to be a close encounter of the awesome kind.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released for the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on November 5. PS4 and Xbox One versions will follow in mid-November.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode 1 surfaces on November 12

2K Games has announced that the first half of “Burial at Sea,” Irrational’s DLC expansion to BioShock Infinite that returns players to Rapture’s underwater city, will be released on November 12. The add-on will carry a $14.99 price when its made available through PC download services, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Live Store. Players who have purchased the BioShock Infinite Season Pass (for $19.99) will receive both halves of “Burial at Sea” (as well as additional DLC) for free.
Join Booker and Elizabeth in a film noir-style story that places them in a shining, pristine Rapture on the eve of its fall from grace. Explore the underwater city, try your hand at a grift or two, and even encounter some old “friends” from the original BioShock.
The combat experience has been rebalanced and reworked with a greater emphasis on stealth and resource management that merges the best parts of BioShock and BioShock Infinite. It includes a new weapon, an old favorite weapon from the original BioShock, the return of the weapon wheel, a new Plasmid, new Gear, and Tears.
Irrational is still hard at work on BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea – Episode 2. The second half of the expansion is currently without a release date but, when it’s available, it will give players to opportunity to play as Elizabeth for the first time.
