This is the first five minutes of BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea

Bored of your everyday life in the clouds? Do you long for a more aquatic adventure? Then, friend, this DLC is just for you! Today, BioShock series honcho Ken Levine showed off the beginning of the upcoming downloadable chapter to Bioshock Infinite, “Burial at Sea.”

Now, don’t go thinking that this is a continuation of the Infinite storyline. Burial at Sea is a separate story that features the Infinite’s leading couples in completely different roles. Booker fills the shoes of, well, a gumshoe, and Elizabeth plays his client. The story takes place on New Year’s Eve, 1958 – the day Rapture plunged into all-out war. The game will play out in classic noir style, so expect a lot of monologuing.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea will be available to download before the end of the year.

New Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze trailer heralds the return of Dixie

Although it now won’t be released this side of Christmas, Retro’s Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is shaping up to look like one of the Wii U’s must-own titles, if the new trailer is anything to go by. Not only does it show off a barrel-load of new enemies, but it also highlights the return of fan favourite Dixie Kong and her whip-like blonde ponytail. Interestingly, she only appears alongside Donkey Kong himself, although Retro has previously confirmed the characters can be played individually in multiplayer or swapped during levels in the single-player mode via character barrels.

With one playable character still to be revealed, many are wondering if it is someone we have seen before such as Funky or Trixie. Or… maybe Retro has an entirely new character for us.

Daily Scoop: October 9, 2013 – Happy humpday!

Yay, it’s Wednesday! We made it to the official halfway point to the weekend. And what’s even better is that this weekend has three whole days in it! I’m too excited. I’ve also got some friends visiting in from New York – Ryan Littlefield and Brianne Galli in the flesh! So I’m even more excited than ever… to play Pokemon with them.

Also, tonight is Dungeons and Dragons Encounters at Redcap’s Corner! Things are really heating up in Baldur’s Gate, and I’m not sure what’s going to happen at the end. My party has been pretty rad, so I’m hoping they can put an end to the madness.

Anyway, let’s talk about video games! The only good deal I found today was Tomb Raider for $19.99 at Amazon. People keep telling me I need to play this game, so maybe now is a good time to pick it up!

Other than that, I’ve got t-shirts… always t-shirts!

Composer Cliff Martinez claims he’s working on Far Cry 4

farcry-header

Ubisoft hasn’t been shy about telling the world that some form of pre-production work has begun on Far Cry 4. But a recent interview has given a good idea what the game will sound like.

Speaking to Lost in the Multiplex (via Joystiq), composer Cliff Martinez (the music man behind the Drive soundtrack) said he is “working on a video game called Far Cry 4.” Obviously, this news doesn’t give us any idea what the game will be like, but we do know it’ll have funky background music that’ll set the perfect mood for a little ultra-violence.

XBLA Today: Orc Attack, Let’s Sing and Dance

xbla-logo

Two new games were added to the Xbox Live Arcade today. Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion ($9.99) is a third-person hack and slash that involves orcs and more than a little farting. Meanwhile, Let’s Sing and Dance ($9.99) is a Kinect-powered music game that features… wait for it… singing and dancing.

More details on both games can be found right here:

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion
Fart or die in this hack-and-slash action game, where fun-loving Orcs battle pollution loving Humans in a humorous fantasy setting. Orcs have become victims of brutal Human expansion, as they are carelessly poisoning the environment. Now, four trained Orc heroes are retaliating with a Not-So-Silent yet very deadly plan. In either single-player or up to four-player co-op, you will take on the role of Orcs, each wielding a unique gaseous ability, and then take the fight to the Humans in a stinky, fart-filled romp. Hilarious enemies and highly tuned combat make for a joyous experience that really is worth sharing. While the comedic storyline and the striking 3D world make it even more memoragle. Gross but charming protagonists add the final flourish with flatullent group attacks and nasty killer moves for up to four players.

Let’s Sing and Dance
Let’s Sing and Dance for Xbox 360 (Kinect for Xbox 360 compatible) brings music games to the next level. For the first time ever, a game combines singing and dancing at the same time. Using Kinect for Xbox 360, Let’s Sing and Dance scores the players’ dance moves as well as their singing performances. Unlimited number of players can take the stage at the same time and chose between 12 hits from major artists, including Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Flo Rida, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5.

Will Zelda: A Link Between Worlds’ Item Shop Really “Transform” the Franchise?

legendofzeldaalinkbetweenworlds-header

According to the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will, in the words of Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, “transform the way you play Zelda.” After years of following a consistent, popular formula, Nintendo has finally seen the need for progression. The next Zelda game will “buck the mold” of traditional Zelda gameplay with one revolutionary change: items will now be rented from and bought at a shop, rather than found in a dungeon.
