  • Avicii – “Wake Me Up”
  • Cher Lloyd – “I Wish”
  • David Guetta (featuring Sia) “Titanium”
  • Jason Derulo (featuring 2 Chainz) – “Talk Dirty”
  • Kid Ink (featuring Chris Brown) – “Show Me”
  • Lorde – “Royals”
  • OneRepublic – “Counting Stars”
  • Pharrell Williams – “Happy”

  • Will.I.Am (featuring Justin Bieber) – “#thatPOWER”

More than 50 additional tracks will be available to download on launch day including Capital Cities’ “Safe and Sound,” Emeli Sande’s “Next To Me,” Icona Pop’s “I Love It,” the “Cedric Gervais Remix” of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness,” and The B-52s’ “Love Shack.” Harmonix is also hard at work on making add-on content from the first three Dance Central games compatible with Spotlight. Those tracks will be able to be downloaded separately and will be available as a free download if you previously purchased them on the Xbox 360.

Dance Central Spotlight will be part of the Xbox Lounge during this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes if you want to play it.

Doom 4 likely won’t be shown to the public until next year

doom-header

Doom 4 (I know, I know, it’s actually just Doom) made its debut at this weekend’s QuakeCon, but it sounds like the rest of us won’t get a peak at the next game in the beloved series until sometime in 2015. Speaking to PC Gamer, Bethesda’s Pete Hines revealed that that’s because development is still in the early going and that the game isn’t quite ready for a public reveal just yet:

“I try really, really hard for this to be a dev first, dev-lead thing,” said Hines, and id Software isn’t ready for a worldwide reveal of Doom. “We’re working with them to say, ‘How does this work? What do we want to show?’ And they’re like, ‘Look, we don’t want a stream to go up for a game that isn’t at the point where we would formally show it to the world, and now that thing is getting picked apart, and digested, and gone through frame-by-frame and getting nitpicked to death, when normally we wouldn’t be showing this to anybody at all.’”

So if Doom 4 is still so rough around the edges, why show it at QuakeCon at all? According to Hines, it was to get the Doom name back out there and show that id Software’s troubles are behind it:

“I really wanted to put something out there that, in a strong way, said, ‘id is working on something that we think is really cool,’” said Hines. “And we wanted … to show something to [id Software fans] that gives them the confidence that it is still a viable studio that’s doing really cool stuff, that is making a game you want to play, and is treating Doom with the care and respect that you want.

“And now we’re going to go away and go back to making the game, but to be able to counter other people talking about us and we’re sort of just sitting here staying silent, or operating from this negative space of like, ‘Oh, it got rebooted, oh it’s in trouble.’ All of that stuff just bothered the hell out of me.”

It looks like those of us who couldn’t attend QuakeCon 2014 are just doomed to wait.

Joe Montana is teasing Joe Montana Football 16

joemontanafootballJoe Montana teased on Twitter that Joe Montana Football 16 is coming. The Tweet was simple – just the image to your right, and the hashtags #youvewaitedlongenough and #joemontanafootball16.

Replies to the Twitter post went from excited to incredulous, with some speculating that Montana was referencing a 49ers Flag Football game that was held over the weekend. But most are hoping that it was a pre-announcement of a sequel to the Sega Genesis favorite. Sega relinquished the trademark to Joe Montana Football more than 20 years ago, so if it is in development, who knows where it’s going to come from or what platform it will appear on.

Hopefully we’ll get more information soon, because as Montana said, we’ve waited long enough.

Daily Scoop: July 18, 2014 – The weekend is here!

It’s Friday, hooray! And that means getting time to finally relax after a long week. There are tons of things going on in Philly, but the truth is, I kind of just want to go home and play video games and maybe eat some water ice. That’s OK, right?

The most important thing you need to know right now is that the Indie Royale Blasting Off bundle just got a very awesome addition – PHL Collective’s Clusterpuck99! This awesome eight-player local competitive game is one you’ll definitely want to add to your collection. The bundle is worth it just for that game alone!

There are a few new sales at the Humble Store as well. They’ve got Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing Transformed for $4.99, Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Going East for $6.49, and Anomaly Defenders for $6.99. And at Steam, the Daily Deal is Prototype 2 for $9.99, and the Weekend Deal is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for $14.99.

And finally, t-shirts!
