The rest of this week’s new releases are a throwback to a simpler time including…

For the non-throwback minded, there’ll also be an NCIS (PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) game available in stores this week.

Check out the full list of the rest of this week’s new releases after the break.

Daytona USA Review: ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLING START!

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Sega dominated the arcade racing scene. Games like Outrun, Sega Rally Championship, Virtua Racing, and Hang On are testaments to this. For many die-hard Sega fanatics, though, the game that always stood out was Daytona USA. Releasing in arcades in 1993, and later being a launch title for the infamous Sega Saturn, Daytona USA has built up an incredible following over the years. Such a following, in fact, that it’s almost always high up on any list of classic Sega games that needed a modern release. After years of said begging, Sega has obliged, and Daytona USA is now available for a whole new generation of gamers. As a history lesson, it’s a great demonstration of the “good old days” of racing, but you know… it’s still a pretty solid game eighteen years after it initially hit arcades, even if its audience likely will consist of gamers who were teenagers when it first appeared.

Wii U to be fully unveiled at E3 2012

It should come as much of a surprise, but Nintendo doesn’t plan to launch the Wii U next Spring. Instead, the company has announced they’ll officially unveil the Wii U’s “final format” at E3 2012.

Nintendo is also taking the “yawn heard ’round the world” that was the 3DS launch to heart. Company President Satoru Iwata told investors at a recent financial briefing: “As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch.”

The Wii U’s launch is still scheduled to place during Nintendo’s next fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2013.

3DS eShop getting demos, add-on content, sleep mode downloads, web store

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed big plans for 3DS eShop during the company’s most recent financial briefing.

According to Iwata, the next 3DS system update will add a boatload of functionality to the eShop including the ability for publishers to create add-on game content and game demos. The 3DS system itself will also become capable of performing downloads in Sleep Mode. That’s right, no more staring at the screen as you wait for your Game Boy Classics to download. This update is scheduled for the end of November.

Finally, a future 3DS system update will make the eShop accessible online so gamers will be able to browse and purchase downloadable titles from their PC or smartphone.

It’s probably too early to start shouting “Nintendo is working on a 3DS eShop iPhone app!” But Iwata certainly makes that sound like Nintendo’s next move.

Get PS Vita a week early with First Edition bundle

You know how everytime a new system launches, some analyst spouts off about how Nintendo or Microsoft or Sony could have set the price so much higher because early adopters will pay it? Well, Sony has decided to test this theory with the PlayStation Vita.

The Vita First Edition bundle will be released on February 15, 2012, a week earlier than the Vita’s official launch date, and is now available for pre-order in the US and Canada. To get their new Sony handheld a week early, gamers will be charged a $50 premium over the standard packages, though the First Edition bundle will include a bunch of goodies not found in the regular Vita box:

Vita 3G + Wi-Fi First Edition Bundle (US Only): Includes a Vita 3G + Wi-Fi system, a limited edition case, 4GB PS Vita Memory Card, and Little Deviants game. Priced at $349.99 (MSRP).
Vita Wi-Fi First Edition Bundle (Canada Only): Includes a Vita Wi-Fi system, a limited edition case, 4GB PS Vita Memory Card, and Little Deviants game. Priced at $299.99 (MSRP).

I’m just surprised Apple didn’t think of it first.

BurgerTime Deluxe added to 3DS eShop

Order up! Everyone’s favorite food preparation sim, BurgerTime Deluxe, has been added to the 3DS eShop.

The Game Boy classic will be joined in the 3DS eShop by Pyraminds, a puzzle=platformer set among the great pyramids, and two new DSiWare games: Academy: Checkers, which is pretty self-explanatory, and Halloween: Trick or Treat, an adventure game that’s perfect for the spookiest time of the year.

On the WiiWare side of things we have Anima: Ark of Sinners. Based on the tabletop RPG “Anima: Beyond Fantasy,” Ark of Sinners is a side-scrolling action game that looks pretty badass.

Nightwing is nobody’s sidekick in this Batman: Arkham City trailer

WB Games and Rocksteady plan to release the Nightwing Pack for Batman: Arkham City on November 1, but they’ve decided to give us an early taste of the former Boy Wonder going toe-to-toe with The Joker’s thugs in the trailer above.

One thing’s for sure, Chris O’Donnell has never been this badass in his whole life.

More GTA5 rumors: There’s an Ace of Spades in the logo

Who knew a simple logo could generate so many rumors?

The latest Grand Theft Auto V rumor has apparently been staring us right in the face, Dan Brown-style, for two days now. It seems that if you turn the “V” in the logo upside down, it produces a nearly perfect spade. And of course, an upside down “V” with a sash across the center looks an awful lot like an “A.” Oh my god! Ace of Spades!

Combine that with the money motif the “V” uses and the obvious conclusion is that GTA5 will take place in Las Vegas, or rather, it’s Rockstar-approved stand-in, Las Venturas. It’s all speculation at this point, but deal me in baby!

Rockstar will release the first Grand Theft Auto V trailer on November 2.
