Runbow will be available for the PC through Steam next week

13AM’s Runbow struck a chord with Wii U owners looking for a retro-styled racing/fighting game last year. Today, the developer announced it’ll also be available on Steam beginning November 18.

“Runbow quickly became a must-have on the Wii U and we think it will also become a favorite among PC gamers,” said Dave Proctor, the Co-Founder of 13AM Games. “With online multiplayer, gamers can brawl and race against their friends and others worldwide while taking on the challenging and fun gameplay that earned Runbow so many honors. Additionally, Runbow has a bevy of content for players to tackle trials on their own, and I think there’s something for everyone here.”

Runbow offers three different multiplayer modes including “Run” (a sprint for the finish line), “Arena” (a brawl to the death), and “King of the Hill” (capture the Star Point). An “Adventure” mode is also available for single players, as well as “Bowhemoth,” an uninterrupted platforming challenge “that will test even the best platform gamers.”

In addition to Runbow’s regular characters, the game also features 19 guest characters from some of the biggest indie titles including Guacamelee!, Shovel Knight, and Steamworld Dig.

Inti Creates will bring Blaster Master Zero to 3DS eShop in Spring 2017

blastermasterzero-header

Blaster Master is a beloved side-scroller from the Nintendo Entertainment System’s heyday… which makes it a perfect reclamation project for the retro gaming experts at Inti Creates. The Japanese developer announced they’ve acquired the rights to the Blaster Master franchise and will release Blaster Master Zero for the 3DS eShop in Srping 2017.

Inti Creates is probably best known for producing Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, so creating a decades-later sequel to an 8-bit classic is definitely in their wheelhouse. The developer wants to create “a new 8-bit experience” for Master Blaster Zero designed especially for a modern platform that also honors the past:

Using the original Blaster Master game as a base, we are setting out to create a fully 8-bit experience in a way that both hearkens back to the golden age of the NES and uses the current generation hardware to optimize and power up the game for the players of today. This of course includes new areas and bosses, and new gameplay elements such as extra sub-weapons, improved gameplay when battling outside of your SOPHIA 3rd tank, a more robust scenario, refined and expanded exploration mechanics, and more.

Head over to Inti Creates’s official website now to check out a huge batch of new screenshots and to read their full statement.

Final mini-trailers for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard promise a new full trailer in early December

residentevil7-header

Capcom’s series of mini-trailers for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has come to an end with “Shadow” and “Aunt Rhody,” both of which are as mysterious as the preceding eight.

A fight with a creature that strongly resembles a Regenerator and an almost face-to-face meeting with the creepy Aunt Rhody eventually give way to a promise from Capcom that the third “Tape” trailer will be released in early December. Tape #1, “Desolation,” was our first look into the world of Resident Evil 7 back in June. While Tape #2, “The Bakers,” introduced us to a family of cannibals that might be scarier than Leatherface and his kinfolk.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 24. You can find the “Shadow” and “Aunt Rhody” mini-trailers after the break.

Let’s Speculate About the Nintendo Switch

nintendoswitch-header

Show of hands… are you ready to learn more about the Nintendo Switch? Nintendo’s normally airtight security was a bit leakier this time around (rumors of a console/handheld hybrid first appeared all the way back in 2014), but fans of the company are definitely excited now that we’ve seen a scant few minutes of the Switch in action. Though a part of me wishes they had pulled a Saturn and just dropped the thing in stores sight unseen.

But a new console from Nintendo is always cause to celebrate in my house, and while we know a bit about the Switch, we won’t learn everything until January 12, 2017. And because we’ve got a little more than two months to wait, let’s speculate about the Nintendo Switch…

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD developer Tantalus is working on a game for Nintendo Switch

nintendoswitch-header

After using an in-house team to produce The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD in 2013, Nintendo published the Tantalus-developed The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to rave reviews earlier this year. Today, the CEO of the Australian developer confirmed they’re also working on at least one game for the Nintendo Switch.

Speaking to Maxi-Geek, CEO Tom Crago had this to say about their Switch plans:

I can confirm that we’re working on Switch, and have been for some time. Our titles haven’t been announced as yet, but keep an eye out for more news soon.

Tantalus has worked with a number of publishers over the years, and it’s unknown if the developer is currently working with Nintendo on another remaster. However, Crego also said their relationship with Nintendo is “stronger than ever,” and even encouraged fans to flood their Facebook page with games they’d like to see remade for the Switch.
