NIS America will bring Danganronpa 1-2 Reload to the PS4 in Early 2017

NIS America has announced that the first two games in their Danganronpa series will be released for the PS4 in Early 2017. Danganronpa 1-2 Reload will include Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, a pair of murder mysteries originally released for the Vita. Starring a deranged clockwork bear named Monokuma, players will have to outsmart his machinations and escape with their lives intact:

In Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, enter Hope’s Peak Academy, a prestigious high school reserved for the nation’s “ultimate” students. Things get a bit twisted when the academy’s students find themselves trapped inside with Monokuma, a maniacal bear who has taken them all prisoner to play his deadly game of despair.

Continue the adventure in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair with a brand new cast of Ultimates. Mysteriously trapped on Jabberwock Island in their own life-or-death game, having fun in the sun with this twisted teddy requires more than a bit of wit to survive.

A trailer for Danganronpa 1-2 Reload has been embedded above.

Pokemon Sun and Moon demo will be available on October 18; New trailer reveals evolved forms of Starter Pokemon

If Pokemon Go has rekindled your desire for a new “main series” Pokemon game, then I’m sure you’re absolutely giddy about Pokemon Sun and Moon‘s impending launch. But you won’t have to wait until November 18 to try it out on your 3DS, because Nintendo and Game Freak will release a special demo for the game through the 3DS eShop on October 18.

Pokemon Sun and Moon’s “Special Demo Version” will introduce players to the game’s Alola region and features Ash-Greninja, a Pokemon that appears alongside Ash in Ash in the Pokemon XYZ animated series. Players who complete the demo will even be able to use Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Sun and Moon after its release.

In addition to the demo, a new trailer has revealed several new features for the game, including the evolved forms for the three Starter Pokemon. Another new feature that Pokemon players can expect to see is Festival Plaza, which will connect players with others playing online to battle, work together, and trade. Finally, the Poke Pelago lets Pokemon stored in a PC Box develop by exploring islands and tackling activities and challenges.

The trailer has been embedded above, and you can all about the evolved forms of the Starter Pokemon after the break.

With the unfortunate cancellation of Arc Continuum, we’ve reached the last of our recent spurt of Kickstarter games, which hails from Norwegian developer Oddwarg, AKA Oddvar Hungnes, creator of indie hits like Eggman Hates Furries, Super Sawman, and Patapony. Hungnes has a distinguished and anime-like style that can be seen in all of his games, as well as on his Deviant Art page. And now he’s bringing his latest venture, Sulphur Nimbus: Hel’s Elixir, to the crowdfunding circuit.

New Final Fantasy XV gameplay trailer introduces Death Spell and the Bandersnatch

Square Enix was in attendance at this weekend’s TwtichCon, and they unveiled a brand new Final Fantasy XV gameplay trailer during the event. The four-minute clip introduces players to the Death Spell, powerful magic that drains HP from an enemy. And speaking of enemies, Square Enix also unveiled “the fearsome Bandersnatch,” a massive beast that challenges Noctis and his friends at the end of the trailer:

As revealed exclusively during the Final Fantasy XV presentation at TwitchCon 2016, witness Death magic – one of the powerful spells granted by the Ring of the Lucii. Death drains the HP of enemies. The longer you use the spell, the more your enemy will physically deteriorate. In this video Death is used to tackle a variety of enemies, including another exclusive reveal – the fearsome Bandersnatch!

Final Fantasy XV will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on November 29.

Daily Scoop: October 3, 2016 – Last day for September’s free PlayStation Plus games

I played a ton of Pokemon Go this weekend, as well as a lot of games on my 3DS! We also played some board games, worked on game design, and watched all of Luke Cage. Oh, and I did homework and wrote a lesson plan, and got brunch. All in all, it was a pretty amazing time!

There’s just one more day left to get the Humble Jumbo Bundle 7. Pay what you want for RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack, Devil Daggers, and Runestone Keeper. Beat the average to unlock Stronghold Crusader 2, Prison Architect, Punch Club, Agatha Christie – The ABC Murders, Elegy for a Dead World, and Road to Ballhalla. Pay $9.99 for early access to Miscreated.

There are 392 new Weeklong Deals happening over at Steam. Valley is $13.99, CrossCode is $16.99, Bit Blaster XL is $0.49, and Frozen Synapse is $6.24, among many others. The Daily Deal is Deponia Doomsday, which is on sale for $14.99. It includes a 200+ page art book, a soundtrack, and concept art – all digital, I’m assuming!

Dragon Quest Builders Hands-On Preview: Raising the Roof

dragonquestbuilders-header

Last week, Square Enix released a demo of Dragon Quest Builders ahead of its October 11th launch. I haven’t played a Dragon Quest game since Dragon Warrior hit the NES, and that one ended in horrible tragedy. I never had any prior interest in Dragon Quest Builders; my only knowledge being that it incorporated elements of mega-hit Minecraft. I was a fan of Minecraft, so I decided to give it a shot. I mean, that’s the point of a demo, right?

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes will be available for PlayStation VR on October 13

The launch of Sony’s PlayStation VR headset is less than two weeks away, and even though dozens of games will be available for the peripheral on day one, more announcements just keep on coming. Over the weekend, Steel Crate Games confirmed that Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, their multiplayer bomb defusal sim, will be available to download through the PlayStation Store on October 13.

In Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, one player is trapped in a virtual room with a ticking time bomb they must defuse. The other players are the “Experts” who must give the instructions to defuse the bomb by deciphering the information found in the bomb defusal manual. But there’s a catch: the experts can’t see the bomb, so everyone will need to talk it out – fast!

With PS VR, experts can view and control the bomb defusal manual on their TV screen while communicating with the defuser. The manual is also freely available and can be printed or viewed on a tablet or any other web-enabled device.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is an absolute blast at parties (I WILL NOT apologize for that pun) and it’s also currently available for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and as a non-VR PC download through Steam.
